Tanystropheus! Everyone's favorite long-necked prolacertiform (there are others, by the way). Here's what I have in the way of models of this crazy creature:

From back to front: Salvat, Jurassic Park, Starlux (version 1) Carnegie (colour variant 1),  Kaiyodo, Carnegie (colour variant 2), Starlux (version 2).

A writhing mass of neck:

Are there any other Tanystropheus figures out there?

Ah one of earths freakiest wiredos.    nice collection. I only have the two Carnegie models. but ones neck is harder then the other.

I debated about trying to cover this one for the blog someday.

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Blade-of-the-Moon

Wow..didn't know there that many Tanys...I have the JP one and the first Carnegie..no others unfortunately.

I also only have the Carnegie tany, strange and wonderful creatures though. I'm surprised there are so many toys of them, great collection Adam.

"there are others, by the way"

lol true.

I just have the original JP one you have, Adam.  Mine has a bit of paint wear though.

There are two more JP Tanystropheus out there.

Chaos Effect: http://www.jptoys.com/toy-database/chaos-effect/dinosaurs/tanaconda/index.htm
Sadly my only Tanystropheus so far...

JP Dinosaurs: http://www.jptoys.com/toy-database/jp-dinosaurs/jp-dinosaurs/dinosaurs/tanystropheus/index.htm

Those are just repaints of the original Jp Tany

Rather obvious, isn't it? As is the second Carnegie Tany.

Still waiting for a Tanystropheus I like :(.

Fascinating creatures. I was unaware that so many models existed.

My favorite "non-ornithodiran" reptile! I have the JP Chaos Effect, Carnegie (v2) and Kaiyodo.

lol...me too, one of my favorite non-dinosauria archosaurs. For those interested in cryptozoology, Champ researcher Dennis Hall believes the Lake Champlain monster is Tanystropheus. He even has a name for it, Champtanystropheus americansus. No, I don't believe him (I don't even believe in the monster) but I just finished a book about Champ and found it interesting. Dennis Hall is quite a character from what I've read...so are most crptozoologists.

[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

I have only the Carnegie One (v2), but i love It! I've searched it for months, and when i recieved it from Amazon.es i was surprised that was so long. Unfortunately the Tanystropheus neck Is mid-broken (strange thing: i have noted it only when i invented for my Dioramas series that the Tanystropheus was killed cutting his neck), so, the unic thing that i Can do Is fix (and repaint it) with Acrylic Paint. When i finish it i Will post the repaint on my repaints thread, and After i Will post the photos here too!

See you Tomorrow on this thread, fans of the Tanystropheus!

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Unfortunately the Tanystropheus neck Is mid-broken

Killekor

If you are skilled enough with a pair of pliers, you can replace the wire in bendy toys like that. I did a jp tanaconda and it turned out better than the original. Make sure you use the same thickness of wire, but you should be able to pull the wire out of one of the tiny holes. Havent tried it on the carnegie figure, havent had the opportunity.

I've got two of the three JP Tany's, didnt get the dark green one, but have two loose and one boxes series 2, and 2 loose tanacondas. I once had two carnegie tany's but I sold them quite a while back. Kinda wishing I had kept one since finding out the carnegie line is retired now.
I'm seeking Orsenigo and other interesting vintage dinosaurs. Contact me if you can help with my search!

Archinto, are you certain that the problem Is a wire? I didn't know that there was a wire...
I've tried to fix it, but to me seems that the problem Is the plastic, not the wire... What do you think, from this photo? I have added Paint, but Is still visibile:

Thanks

Killekor

P.S. i have renamed the title of the thread from the reply title because the previous One was ugly (for me)

Ah, I couldnt tell from the previous photo that the plastic was cut. I thought you meant the internal wire was broken, preventing it from holding a pose. Thats why I mentioned replacing the wire.
