amargasaurus cazaui

It is a dinosaur known by precisely two  squamosal bones (Mercuriceratops) Just seems like there are so many others out there that are well known and would have been unique to offer.....
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

Good point, I was not aware of that. And yet here we still sit, with no Centrosaurus model, of which we have a massive bone bed containing countless individuals. And still no Einiosaurus either, among others.

I had that thought too about Mercuriceratops, and Metriacanthosaurus too which is known only from an incomplete hip, a leg bone, and vertebral material from the back and tail.

The mercuriceratops is nice and the Metriacanthosaurus (finally so dark that figure is spectacular).

The dead tyrannosaurus is a beauty and a realistic figure. And honestly with feathered tyrannosaurus rex this year he did not need another. Although there is nothing wrong.

But honestly fault line in the Deluxe one ceraptosido 1:40 scale to accompany the deluxe Collecta triceratops. Furthermore, and I know it is a speculation which does not make me laugh are the feathers that put mercurioceratops

I applaud what is sincerely and Collecta colored figures are more conservative and realistic in my honest point of view touches.

On Friday or next sure we will have more news Collecta. Each year the company is advancing with giant strides.

Thank you for your info Everything_Dinosaur :D So lovable...next stop : collecta swimming spino and 4 collecta feathered trex. That 4 trex figures is a perfect set for display. a heart breaking moment, a baby trex desparately hiding and wacthing her mother from distance become a meal for trex brothers.

Lovely Metriacanthosaurus! the best of the bunch without doubt! :D

The hunting t.rex looks a bit better that the deluxe, but still has that annoying feather mohawk and it´s not as big as the deluxe version, so...... no feathered t.rex for me by now.
A corpse! And it´s a dead Tyrannosaurus! The king has fallen! Nooooo!  :( :D Interesting... looks better than the "living" ones...I need more pictures.
The Mercuricertops is.... meh.... ok.

Also.... bases everywhere... :( the bases actually look really bad, like mud, maybe because they are prototypes, so this might change in the final result.

I have noticed that the figures don't have the feet inserted into the bases, it looks like they are just over that piece of beige plastic, maybe to allow us to cut and remove them easily if we don't like them?
And WHY?Why just announce 4 figures? Why keeping the rest for another week? :(

I would have personally preferred Einiosaurus or Anchiceratops or Titanoceratops, but there's nothing wrong with doing Mercuriceratops. It's always nice to see obscure dinos get a nod.

Also, I like how it looks like it has muttonchop whiskers.

The Metriacanthosaurus is the one so far that really shows a marked improvement in CollectA's models.Enough for me to want to see their take on something like one of my childhood favorites,Ceratosaurus nasicornis.Or something like Torvosaurus tanneri:)
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

I think you'll be pleased with Wave II.

With the hint Dan just posted, and Everything Dinosaur's hint, it seems almost certain CollectA is releasing a Torvosaurus.  I wonder if they'll release a Ceratosaurus too?  Cerato and Torvo lived in the same time and place, so I wonder if CollectA will make use of that and release both?

UPDATE: I just showed the dead rex to my wife. She let out a big "EWWWW!" and told me not to get it! ;)

Lol Suspsy thats the funniest thing I've heard all day! I'll hopefully be getting the figures and is it just me that thinks those base look detachable?

Concavenator

I will really like the CollectA Torvosaurus:))

Initially I wasn't very interested in the Metriacanthosaurus or Tyrannosaurus hunter, but after comments about the way the feet sat on the bases I toke a closer look and I'm not certain but I think I see part of a peg going from the base into the Tyrannosaurus hunters right foot?! If they do come off I can't picture them standing very well (especially the Tyrannosaurus), but some screws in the legs could help to give that little extra weight so who knows, one of the few advantages to CollectA's soft plastic.

I'm still unlikely to choose the Tyrannosaurus over it's larger counterpart, but if I'm particularly taken with the larger I may well get both.

Metriacanthosaurus still has a somewhat shrink wrapped head but I like it's general design, more pictures will tell.

Tyrannosaurus corpse is a must have (I can already hear the Carnivora forum turning in it's grave :P)! I've always been a fan of life cycle sets with modern animals, and it seems CollectA has just taken that to a new level. >:D

Following up or adding to my previous comment about Mercuriceratops and the fact it is based on two squasmosals, or to clarify further , it means the model is largely speculation. Further it could very possibly find itself being reclassified as one of the other new ceratopsians being named almost monthly . In a way it might be unique to own, or it could become obsolete before its release date given the paucity of remains.....but yes, that is the issue with making models from a few fragments and alot of guesses. It goes on alot, in this hobby, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse, so it will be amusing to watch.

Its grave? Is the site no longer around? If it's true, then good riddance, because I always hated that place.

I am surprised CollectA is still regularly making figures of animals known from fragmentary remains after how things went with Deinocheirus.

I have examined the legs of theropods and see ... Just slightly raised may be that the Metriacanthosaurus Collecta and female tyrannosaurus rex Collecta have removable base.
