Art inspired by figures

This topic is inspired by tyrantqueen's spot of this poster featuring a brachiosaur that looks remarkably like the Invicta figure:

Has anyone else spotted any artwork, including sculpture (and I'll count fibreglass dinos for my own sake ;D), that's clearly been inspired by a prehistoric animal figure?

Let's not forget official artwork of course! Like the Invicta posters...

I also swear that this 'life size' Apatosaurus at Dierenpark Amersfoort is based on the original Wild Safari, although this isn't the best angle to demonstrate that.

There's also a life-size T. rex in Norfolk clearly modelled on the 1970s Airfix T. rex, but I can't find a photo of it just now...

I have a puzzle of that Invicta poster  :))

Paleoart inspired by figures... Mmh, well, it comes to my mind Fabio Pastori's Rugops, which not only is a, eehr, "homage" ( ::)) to the Todd Marshall's one (bony face and nasal crest), but is also inspired by a bronze Carnotaurus statue (don't remember the author, it was on "paleoartistry.com" though...).

"I am the eyes in the night, the silence within the wind. I am the talons through the fire."

My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!

Pictures, per favore! Examples on this thread are insufficient without pictures! :))

Dan had a lot of sculptures based on the Safari figures if I recall.

Here's one from his facebook page :

That's a statue of Mo, the Ponteix Plesiosaur (Terminonatator ponteixensis). I passed by it last week!  And it might be at least a little old--it has the original colour scheme!

Found this in a book I just got, called Dinosaurs- Prehistoric Life Explained by Rupert Matthews. Not really the best book I've ever gotten on the subject, I have to say :-\

Seems like a bad photoshop of the Carnegie Tyrannosaurus and Schleich Torosaurus. Sorry about the glare from my camera  :P

That's pretty neat seeing the figures like that. Do they credit the companies at all ?

It wasn't damaged when we were there last week, so they must have fixed it!

I've seen several books--even DK ones--that frequently use dinosaur toys (Papo are especially popular). I can't recall ever having seen a credit though.

These may not be considered proper art, but I like them well enough to post them here.

This one is from a recent newspaper. That Rex should be instantly recognizable to you all. For those who can read Dutch, I apologize for the stupendous silliness of the article, it's really quite lame and an embarrassment to this otherwise good quality newspaper.  :-[

Then there's this... I don't know what to say about it. I just hope you guys find it funny enough not to be offended by it. I certainly do!  ;D

What. The. Hell.

I know. Don't ask me where the Rex's hands are, I don't even wanna know.
Or were you referring to the piece about dinosaur farts?   :P

Farts and boobs... Geez, I really defiled this fascinating thread with smut and pornography, haven't I? Yet I don't feel really much ashamed.  :D

Horridus

Oh, I meant the second one. The farts thing has actually been spreading around the global media (like a bad smell).

That second article looks like something Don Glut might have contrived.

And from the ridiculous to the sublime. James Gurney's illustration for Dinotopia: The World Beneath.

Inspired by the Kaiyodo vinyl Camarasaurus.

Not really an inspiration, more like a direct rip-off XDD

^ (Tamiya Triceratops, and some random Triceratops I found on google)

And this Suchomimus isn't identical, but looks definitely influenced by the Invicta Baryonyx

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Some of them look like Invicta figures, especially the Tyrannosaurus rex.
