Imperial "Dragons Knights & Daggers" Beasts

These were sold as an alternative to Masters of the Universe and featured similar type figures. Many of the larger beasts had saddles for the figures to ride, or battle chariots they would pull behind them. Seriously awesome stuff. They were available in a variety of color variations for each model.

Between the vintage and modern blow mold dinosaurs there seems to be a size difference, as well as quality. The older plastic is better and seemingly more tough. The Sinclair dinosaurs are a bit larger and more detailed. Ill have to see how the other dinosaurs compare once I manage to get more.

I've had my eye on a posable Smaug figure who's wingspan is just two inches shy of 2ft, so almost the same size. Although if it and the Draco figure were to be to scale with each other, Smaug would be much bigger...

Dragons keep on growing I think according to middle earth lore.  Ancalagon the Black was the size of a mountain range.  My complaint is they shrunk him down in the films...they also made him a wyvern... :/

I personally prefer Wyverns, they are the more plausible dragon type rather than the typical six limbed dragons. But thats just my opinion. ;) Also, a dragon the size of a mountain range would not be able to be killed... at all... which is probably why they shrunk him down, but then again... dragon scales are supposed to be impenetrable...

I recently got in a new to me treasure! There was recently a rash of Miller dinosaurs that sold on ebay. Among the popular auctions that started at a low price hid a very nice near mint triceratops that was offered for a good asking price. Without competition it is now mine and OMG I love it its so beautiful   ^-^ I updated the very first post with this GEM!

And it looks like I may have to share some more dragons soon.... I dont think I have any that could compete with a real smaug, but I've got some neato armored dragon figs to share! :) But then again..... Theres always Komodo.....

True, though Tolkien originally drew Smaug as 6 limbed, as they are fantasy creatures I'm cool  with it.  Actually Ancalagon was killed by a single warrior, his flying ship and some help from the Eagles.  Actually Tolkien adapted the story element for his dragons that they all have a " weak spot" or vulnerability somewhere...and their arrogance usually leads them to expose it.  Another complaint I had with the last film, the Thrush was supposed to inform Bard about Smaug's at Bilbo's behest.

Holy crud!  I should have kept that big box of bionicle parts my cousin tossed...

Archinto

Tossed..... ouch.

Its really an awesome building medium. Im working on a DR ankylosaurus thatll probably be about 2 feet long. Ive got his head built and its gonna be so rad! I have an idea for the armor shell thats pretty wild. Ive got some ideas thatll make this figure off the hook! Ive already got a design for his 7" tall Rulon controller, Sting. Im going to try to make it so the arrow can fire from the crossbow, or review the cartoon again and see how the energy crossbow worked according to them.

His wingspan is about 2 feet across. He is pretty dang awesome! I always wanted one when I was young, and finally got one that was new in the box a few years back. I'm so happy to have him! He sits on top of my fridge. :)

I've had my eye on a posable Smaug figure who's wingspan is just two inches shy of 2ft, so almost the same size. Although if it and the Draco figure were to be to scale with each other, Smaug would be much bigger...

I've been waiting on a really nice Smaug figure..I hoped Papo would a  " fire dragon" that looked suspiciously like him.. lol   In all honesty the film Smaug should have been much larger than he was in it.

In one of the movies they state that Smaug isn't full grown, despite him being centuries old.

Sorry for taking over your thread here with dragon-talk.

I've never seen that creature in the pic before..is it a Zoid of some kind?

Dragon talk... gives me an idea... why is there no Dragon/Kaiju toy forum? We have one for prehistoric animal figures, one for Modern animal figures, why not one for Mythical animal figures?
I am the Dinosaur King!
