Takara Tomy 2021 eurypterid. @Halichoeres and others - based on the shape of the telson, pretty sure this is in the genus Acutiramus

body length 9.0 cm; total length (incl. appendages) 12.0 cm. minimal assembly

Glad to see this one here. I think this is greener then what the promo pic showed right? Still looks great. May make a nice companion to the Colorata one.

you know what, the more I study Kaiyodo's 'Pterygotus' the more I think they are Acutiramus, the latter of which has been synonymized with the Pterygotus sometimes. I wonder if the sculptor was using an outdated reference. Looking at the shape of the telson and the ridge on the subterminal segment (the segment right before the telson), the Kaiyodo figures appear to have been influenced by Acutiramus!

Yeah, I think brontodocus came to the same conclusion. He says something to that effect on the Kaiyodo reference page on Facebook. Nice to have independent corroboration!

Oh well hopefully this serves as a reminder to me to share those repainted Takara Tomy figures here when I get them in hand. More specifically the Anomalocaris, trilobite, and eurypterid.

@Faelrin - no I bought them on YAJ years ago through Brett. They were handmade out of Japan. I also have a creek, a forest/log, and an underwater freshwater scene.
