thanks for all the input. i am currently on the fence. i saw it yesterday at my local Schleich distributor store and it looks good (but not great) and im not sure if im willing to shell out $22.00 for this Stegosaurus. might succumb tho when i see it again this weekend. :-\

btw, im wondering why Schleich is overpricing their figures. same size figure from Safari and CollectA would cost only $10-15.00 (not to mention the quality is more superior).

I don't think it is specifically a Schleich thing. Safari figures are also more expensive in Germany compared to the US. And don't get me started on how expensive the Jurassic World figures are here.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

when will Schleich release the V2 Kentro?

This is the first time I've looked forward to a model by shleich. I just hope it's as good as the promo.

I think we do not have official pics so far, so here they are:
Acrocanthosaurus
Kentrosaurus
Schädelfalle
Apparently the Raptor is supposed to use the lizard as a lure for the Compy...

The contrast in quality between the new Kentrosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus is huge. Like they were made by two diferent cmopanies a few years apart. Speaking of the Kentrosaurus, is it due for release this or next month?

Kaprosaurus

That is an Acrocanthosaurus?! Either Schleich is messed up or that Acrocanthosaurus is eating some hallucinogenic mushrooms like Arlo and Spot did in The Good Dinosaur  ;D

Shonisaurus

Acrocanthosaurus is the worst that has been done to date of all toy companies.  ;D

Kaprosaurus

Or is it? I mean their Baryonyx is absolute garbage! Although this Acrocanthosaurus fist the spot in #2 perfectly XD

or the sculptor of the Acro was munching on magic 'shrooms when he made that "Acro" thing.

i hope the new and old Kentrosaurus would look perfectly matched as a mated pair.

Kaprosaurus

Is the sculptor even human? No offense on the sculptor he/she could be pretty good but Schleich forces the sculptor to make an abomination. LOL!

suspsy

Hands down the worst Acrocanthosaurus toy ever.

it looks like the allo-rex from Fantasia. I guess it could have a cheesy retro appeal to some.

Nanuqsaurus

The extreme shrink-wrapping and tripod pose suggest this figure was actually made about 30 years ago, but Schleich only found it recently in their basement and decided to start selling it because Papo now has an Acro too. :P

Takama

I dont think Schleich was makeing these type of toys in 1987 ;D

Honestly, this company is getting lazeir and lazier with there products.

Neosodon

Rather than actually make decent models they decided to make one especially bad one so the rest of their models would look good in comparison. So people will see another shleich model and go well that looks much better than the acro and be deceived into thinking they are actually getting a good deal and buy it.

Schleich's Acrocanthosaurus looks better to me than some of the other figures they are currently selling, like their Velociraptor, Therizinosaurus and Giganotosaurus, which are all unforgivably vile.

Really? You think those three are better than the Acro? I mean, yes, they're all bad, but at least the Therizinosaurus and the Giganotosaurus have active poses.

I think if Schleich actually wanted to play the "look we've improved!" card they'd instead improve their whole rooster each year very marginally. Making one bad figure in the same batch doesn't make the others look any better.
