I found the Acrocanthosaurus and Utahraptor at Fred Meyers today. I didn't get them but I guess the reason the Acro's head look like that is because they know that it was related to the giganotosaurus, yet were to lazy to make it accurate. I honestly like the Utahraptor a lot better.

I sincerely like the feathered velociraptor 2017 more than the utahraptor.
Why is that?

Honestly the feathered velociraptor model exclusive 2017 that have taken along with the tyrannosaurus rex and the carnotaurus seems more finished than the utahraptor, but it is only an opinion I hope not to offend you.

I'm not offended. I like because it is the only new dinosaur this that looks good and is not a resculpt. The Allosaurus of this year is Jurassic species while the previous one was a Cretaceous Allosaurus.

Honestly the new Velociraptor is just Schleich's standard sculpt with some minor changes, very similar to the previous two versions from 2012 and 2014. The mid-size raptor in the three pack set released earlier this year was far better, still vastly inaccurate and fairly ugly, but a step forward from their aforementioned bastardized JP raptors nonetheless. This year Schleich delivered one good figure (Kentrosaurus), while the rest ranges from awful to barely acceptable. Still I trust them to pull out a gem every once in a while.

Irritation

If they are rebranding their dinosaur line, they need to make decent creatures and at least some new dinosaurs I can accept.

Here's an embarassing comparison video. I mean, embarassing for Schleich...

Still think Rebor's comes across as the most believable depiction of this beast, despite the huge feet.

Shonisaurus, do you use Google Translate for your posts? Just curious.

Being sincere I sometimes use the google translator for a simple reason my written and spoken English is imperfect and before writing some barbarity that leads to misunderstanding or confusion I prefer to use the translator when I doubt.

On the other hand I go to English classes in an academy in Madrid and I go to English courses online to learn English. I recognize that it costs me a lot to learn the language for me is very difficult when I also work and make oppositions at the same time.

I am sorry to be quite clumsy in the English language the case is I am working as it is an essential language at a global level.

The Tyrannosaurus, Carnotaurus, and the lame JP rip-off with some feathers stuck on that Schleich is calling Velociraptor, have already been released, so why are you listing them as 2018 figures?

This is what Takama is talking about. And ok, I give up trying to understand Schleich's logic.

They are released as special editions like the Stegosaurus was last year.    Plus Dejankins confirmed that they are actully 2018 items

If I'm remembering right, the Stegosaurus was previously only available in a volcano playset, and that's what you mean when you say it was a special edition?  But these three theropod figures have been released on their own, so how are they a special edition different to how they will be released in 2018?

NO the Stegosaurus was released on it own in the USA

I see.  So have I got it right in thinking the Stegosaurus was only available in a volcano playset originally, then it was released separately only in the USA in 2016, and then it was released separately in other parts of the world in 2017?  That would be quite a weird and confusing way to release a figure.

So you're saying the three theropod figures have only been released in a certain place, and will be available elsewhere in 2018?

The Three Theropods are exclusive to certain countrys in 2017, and will come out Worldwide in 2018

It's interesting to see a new Kish inspired figure in 2017. But then again, Schleich also did the Acrocanthosaurus, which looks between 40 years ( for palaeontologists ) and 24 years ( for the public ) out of time. Anyone got an idea what the Velociraptor is inspired by? Because I don't think that is original either.

Oh, and the magazine version of the Saichania is out:

The actual colors are closer to the comic version.

Is this just me or does the Acro look even more akward in the comic?

Next magazine will feature a green version of the  2017 Mini T.rex, you know, the tripod one.

Also saw the Acro in a store next to the Papo one. A stark contrast.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

At least in the comic it ain't a tail-dragger.
