You mean the retool of the original velociraptor?

sauroid

either that guy on the video gets sent free stuff from the company to review or he just doesnt discriminate as a collector whether he gets bad figures or not.

Velociraptor

Probably some of the old models will be replaced like spinosaurus, giganotosaurus, anhaguera, pentaceratops

Thanks for the video Rolandeden shows that it has improved and much this mark.

On the other hand is it a mere assumption of yours that they are going to reissue with new aspect spinosaurus, giganotosaurus, anhaguera, pentaceratops or you have news of it? I certainly applaud that Schleich is improving I like that a real competitive company can arise and that rivals the rest of companies of toy dinosaurs.

The more competition there is, the greater the scientific and artistic quality and precision of the figures.

I prefer that Schleich go every year improving little by little as he did in his early years Collecta and now many years ago has passed from his "dark" stage of dinosaurs to some extent little finished precious figures of toy and collecting. I hope Schleich will follow that path would be great.

Its a thought that I have due if you see in the website most of the old models are beign retired. All, probably going to be remade.

Look Triceratops, 2012 Velociraptor, Triceratops, Styracosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus are retired. Maybe with the change of ceos they are chaning all the line up. We can expect 2018 line: Spinosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Saichania, Parasaurolophus, Quetzalcoatlus, Anhaguera and even aquatic reptiles, but I want to see Cenozoic Creatures.

I agree with you about the Cenozoic figures.

In fact the macrauchenia and the glyptodon were very good figures on the part of Schleich is a pity that they retired so soon. As you say figures of the Cenozoic would be for me welcome. They are little valued figures in the toy market, from my point of view. Except Collecta, Papo and Safari to a lesser extent the other companies have devoted almost in general terms very little to the prehistoric mammals.

There are figures especially of the Ice Age that would be quite marketable, like the cave bear (ursus spelaeus), smilodon, mamuth primigenius, coelodonta antiquitatis would be good examples.

On the other hand we need a Schleich triceratops in an improved version and a quetzalcoatlus with another new look.

Irritation

No! No more resculpts! I'm done with those after this year. I just want to see new dinosaurs!

SpartanSquat

Probbaly we are going to get new ones but resculpts are guaranteed

So the three new ones are part of the 2017 line-up, since they're branded "Conquering the Earth", and not special editions or advance copies from next year's line-up.

Trust me, I been yelling at them for doing that ever since 2014.

But the thing is, the line is rebooting. And we are just going to have to accept it, or Abandon the line.

If they have a lack on new species next year, I swear to god, I'll only trust Papo and Safari LTD to make new species. CollectA, I just trust them with certain dinosaurs.

sauroid

what is the point of pining for Schleich to make new species if they keep churning out one bad design after another and only occasionally make a decent figure and usually an Ornithischian.

Schleich should probably focus more on marine reptiles/fish and prehistoric mammals. An updated, repainted Shonisaurus sans dorsal fin...Ophthalmosaurus, Plesiosaurus, and/or Leedsichthys would make for some fine additions in the Schleich line. How about a Platybelodon?

Those would be awesome. Their Dunky was quite spectacular. Do we know who the artist who does the sculpting for Schleich is?

i must admit the only Schleich purchase this year (and maybe til the end of 2017) for me is the Dunkleosteus and the Stegosaurus. if the new Kentrosaurus shows up on my store this year id get it too. but the rest i can hardly even look at them in the store.

I pass members of the forum the video of Schleich's carnotaurus 2017 by Rupi Bolz (does not come unfortunately in English).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bOSmVbdkVU

What I observe of this carnotaurus is that it has disproportionate horns especially in length, as you can see it is practically bicolor and it seems that instead of scale it wears a small armor in some parts of the body.

In short, from my point of view, it is the weak figure of the group.

Neosodon

Looks more like some sort of arthropod that happened to evolve into the shape of a dinosaur. The skin detailing is absolutely horrid. Even worse than their old carnotaurus.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

ZoPteryx

I wonder if it was "inspired" by this:

laticauda

There not even pretending to be accurate anymore.  The last Carnotaurus they at least got the skin right.  There are making stylized monsters.  Lets face it, style does sell.
