Thanks Takama for the pictures.

The keratosaurus looks better than the prototypes. And to the acrocanthosaurus does not disappoint, that as it is said is something smaller than I imagined, sincerely would have wanted a much bigger figure, nevertheless it would have to see to both figures from the different angles.

As always Papo makes detailed his figures and very well painted and modeled its texture as I say always is smooth and is tended to avoid serious abrasions due to the successive layers of paintings that are applied on said figures.

I would like to see the cave bear and the smilodon to see especially if the latter is less and I say it because you have to be honest less ugly than they have advertised in your official commercial photo Papo.

What you see in the photographs is that these photos make these figures appear distorted because the photos have been taken from a lower angle. By the way the acrocanthosaurus what I have noticed that has the iris of the eye or the little pupil centered, not as the promotional photo I suppose it may be a manufacturing error.

Silvanusaurus

That Ceratosaurus is an absolute dream boat.

Those look really good, especially that Ceratosaurus! Although I did notice that it appears the upper portion of the skull is molded separately from the body? It's most noticeable on the Acro; correct me if I'm wrong, but previous models by Papo have the upper skull molded with the body correct?

They all have a seam on the neck, right behind the head. So the heads are separate.
I am the Dinosaur King!

Dinomike

Hooray! These guys look really really good! I'm liking that Ceratosaurus as well! And I'm really digging the new, bolder color schemes they've chosen to go with!

Yes, the Allosaurus' skull and part of its neck are moulded separately from the rest of the body. Same goes for both the T. rexes.

The Acrocanthosaurus looks much better. Of course the detail is always less intense in the final product but overall I really like the result.
I love that now it looks less fearsome and has a more gentle expression on it´s face.
Ceratosaurus color´s look better and less Schleich-like.

My initial thought of Papo for this year was: meh :(
But now, minus the mammals and the JW Dimorphodon, I really like all the dinosaurs and I want them all, despite the fact that I already have Ceratosaurus and Cryolophosaurus figures that are pretty good. Acrocanthosaurus and Polacanthus are must buys for me.

empire3569

Yep just checked mine, you guys are right about the skulls, my bad. Maybe it's just the lighting/angle that makes it look so much more stood out. Regardless, I will be getting the Acro (was already going to get it before) but now I am definitely going to pick up the Ceratosaurus too! I agree with others that it looks much better than the promo pics

Ah don't worry I didn't think you where being rude or offensive :) and what you said was interesting I would just like to know specifically what is wrong with the figure, I'm only 17 and by no means consider myself a scholar on this stuff but I do draw dinosaurs and try to make the as accurate as I can ( example of some of my work http://backocean.deviantart.com/art/Daspletosaurus-629967180 ) so I'm just interested in the specifics of whats wrong with the figure perhaps on an anatomical scale like is the arm to long, is the skull to big, is the tail to short, etc.

also I know this isn't the place but it would be awesome if you guys could check out my work

You may just have gained yourself a watcher... I'm Stuff-by-Tyto over there. I'm amazed by the amount of skill in your art, even more so because I and a lot of other people could never have drawn that well at your age.

Thanks!!

And as for the new pictures .....PERFECT..... I truly think this is one of papos best years and I'm super happy with the paint and sculpt of these guys I can't wait to have them in the collection

These models are incredible. The rainbow Acro doesn't look like rainbow rex anymore. It seems the colors are darker and more blended than ever before. Also, Acro's head looks longer from that angle.

Re-uploaded the pics including the other two, just to focus on their size, considering we can see them in hand:

*** pictures gone thank to Postimage ***

Seems to me that Polacanthus, Ceratosaurus and Cryolophosaurus are all roughly the same size. I have my Allosaurus in hand now and it seems to be fairly bigger than the Ceratosaurus, I was expecting them to be quite similar instead. While the Acrocanthosaurus seems to be around the running T-Rex size, which is fine.

I had the feeling that the final products would have looked better than the promos, which is something unusual cause with Papo has always been more like the opposite. Good thing though, I'm very impressed. This side view of the Acrocanthosaurus brings out all of its personality, and I'm glad the head is much more slender than the stock photo suggested. Colour schemes also look more interesting in those actual photos, and the paint app is just phenomenal. That's how I want a figurine to be painted!

I guess I can say goodbye light-heartedly to Rebor's "Savage" and "Hercules". Now I prefer Papo Ceratosaurus over "Savage", hands down, and while I still feel Rebor's Acrocanthosaurus to be more naturalistic than Papo's I think I don't need two of the genus in my collection. Looking forward to see the remaining three models in flesh, hopefully some samples will show up in the coming weeks.

spinosaurus1

that ceratosaurus is what really impressing me the most out of the bunch with the crylophosaurus coming close second. the admirable girth and wicked dentition is everything i could ever want from a ceratosaurus figure. the crylophosaurus looks like it would look good next to my sideshow ceratosaurus.

oscars_dinos

I think I have an obsession with the cylo

I think the Acrocanthosaurus paint app ended up having some of the subtlety that Papo probably wanted to give to the T-Rex from the exclusive set.

Dinomike

I really really like the Cryolophosaurus! It's got character and the colors look lovely to me.

Ceratosaurus:
I like it. Is it just me or its head doesn't look as shrink-wrapped as the others (Acro and Cryo)?

Cryolophosaurus:
the Battat's is a masterpiece, Carnegie's is a really good figure and now another really good – good in a different way, obviously – figure...
could we say it is the only species with so many good figures available on the market?

Flaffy

The ceratosaurus is a must have for me, I have been looking for a chunky and reasonably accurate cerato for quite a while now.  :))

Killekor

OH MY GOD!!!! I want them all!

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.
