here is the exact message:
deceptive site ahead (red page):
attackers on www.sideshowcollectors.com may trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or stealing your personal information (for example, passwords, phone numbers, or credit cards).

That happened to me last night when I tried to enter the thread too!

sauroid

i cant access the thread because of that and wont open it until the people concerned in the forum have resolved the issue. good luck to DTF.

Pachyrhinosaurus

That happened to me, too. I don't know which browser you're using but Chrome let me bypass it.

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

ive been using Chrome ever since and this is the first time this has happened to me in DTF. maybe there's a reason why it is warning about sideshowcollectors of all websites...

another thing, on the address bar of the site/forum, there's a red exclamation point symbol meaning: "your connection to this site is not private/This page is insecure (broken HTTPS)".
all the other sites i visit using Chrome does not have this issue. i think im not just being paranoid and there's some kind of problem.

Sauroid, I have the same issue though I bypassed the notification somehow, (I don't remember excatly how) but you should have an option on the warning page. I don't know why that is happening but I've run quick safety check everytime after I've visited the page and my virus program has not noticed any problems.

If all it's saying is "the connection to the site is not private" than perhaps it just means that this host monitors who visits from what machine? It's hardly unusual, a lot of sites do it (even things like Steam which has payment features) but most of them have additional software clarifying this to your browser.

Still wouldn't explain why only some Chrome users are experiencing this. More likely it's some sort of an error (or perhaps even your provider). We're all going to experience things like this from here on if net neutrality really is on the chopping block following recent events in America.

i doubt that people from different parts of the world have the same provider tho.  :)

It's been happening all the time the last few days, something about a sideshow collectables add that chrome doesn't trust...

Hmm, I don't have any Sideshow ads on the forum. I presume someone has added a link to Sideshow in one of the posts in that thread, but I can't find one.

I'm not encountering this error. Does it happen on every page in that thread, or just a particular page?

Thanks,
Adam

just the latest page (pg 401). well, i didnt try every page but the first page is normal/no issue.

FYI, only page 401 has an issue and the following page (402) is working perfectly ok. im guessing it has something to do with the mention of sideshow on page 401 thats causing any issue and i dont know how that happened since it wasnt even a site link.

Yes, that's what's confusing me too! I'll edit that post to delete "sideshow" and let me know if that fixes it (I'm not encountering the problem myself).

Well, I edited out all occurrences of Sideshow but the error message still occurs. On that page only. Odd. I'm stumped right now....
