I'm surprised to find I'm still kinda mad about TLW.  I don't tend to get as worked up over movies these days, but it's one of those early disappointments where the bitterness still lingers.  I still remember looking forward to it for months in advance, for some reason naively thinking it would be much better than the first.

Realistically, it's still a perfectly watchable,  average disposable movie.  Some of the individual scenes and set pieces play very well, probably better than those of JP3.  If I was just looking for 2 hours of mindless entertainment, I'm sure I wouldn't mind.

The ending really was the worst part about JP3. So bizarre and abrupt, not to mention anti-climatic.

I managed to read the script a few years back, and the subplot with the raptor resonating chamber tied in with the ending better. During the Spinosaurus attack, when it's trying to get William H Macy on the Crane, Grant blows the "Help" call and the Raptors show up en masse and bring down the Spinosaur. I forget what happened to the eggs, though. Then the Pteranodons attacked the helicopters during the escape, resulting in the decapitation of one of them, which was a re-used Lost World ending. This script's probably still floating around somewhere. Wasn't a lot of difference from the movie but the parts they excised would've made it better.

It really seemed like one of those ran-outta-time, tacked-on endings.  2001 was a bit of a weak summer for movies, I think it was one of those years where they rushed things into production to fill a gap, and JP3 definitely ended up with a tight schedule.

has anyone seen this yet?

I suppose some people will think that's kinda cool.

That picture of Chris Pratt with the raptors is pretty epic but is it official or fan made?

Fan-Art. Says so on the pic itself. But it seems pretty plausible in context of the movie.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Yes I suppose it does, I had to squint pretty hard to determine that though. If the movie is going to have tame raptors (and it is) I kind of like the notion that they were a pet project of Pratt's character. You know, hatched some eggs and raised them and now they see him as a pack leader. Kind of like when baby birds imprint on something other than their mother.

CityRaptor

I can see him becoming part of the family or pack. Wasn't there someone who did that with wolves?

Also an interview with Horner regarding the trailer:

Also contains some  JP1.

Sorry Gwangi, I must have skipped that page. I think the problem with a lot of Spielberg movies is the screenwriter David Koepp. He just barely gets a pass for Jurassic Park, because that still has so much going for it, but everything else he has done feels rushed and ill thought out. Personally, at this point, I'd like to see an extended T.V. series detailing the building of Jurassic Park. The best parts of the book were when characters remembered the problems they had figuring out a new form of life, like finding out about the Dilophosaur's venom, and the T rex's sunburn issues. The series would build up to the visit by Grant, Sattler and Malcolm.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

"My Life as a Turkey" ( http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/my-life-as-a-turkey-full-episode/7378/ ), but w/JP raptors.

Saw it, but thanks. I recommend everyone else watch it too. I also read the book "Illumination in the Flatwoods". Naturally I recommend that too.

Triceratops83, your TV series idea actually doesn't sound half bad. It could certainly work and no doubt be much better than "Terra Nova". I don't think it will happen, but I would watch it.

I wonder if just maybe we'll get an animated series this time. We almost did for the Chaos Effect toy line..and JW is a bit similar.

It's good to see Jurassic Park come back after being in development and the release date being repeatedly postponed. However I really do hope to see more of the Herbivorous Dinosaurs in action. Just like how in the Lost World, we got to see Herbivorous dinosaurs like Stegosaurus and Triceratops attacking humans. I do hope to see Ankylosaurus in action this time round.

This article may be more on the mark than anyone wants to admit--but I will admit that seeing Judy Greer made me happy--but did not make me think of a movie that is taking itself seriously.

I don't know..her quote there in the trailer was sorta...creepy. Like it was supposed to re-assuring..but in no way was.

Reminded me of Grant's " But that's not..what I'M gonna do. " line.

EDIT - Sorry if anyone clicked on the first link I posted briefly, aintitcool is a vile place. I don't know how to drag an image into a post, otherwise I'd have just done that.

Looks different from the animatronic we saw a few months ago. Likely another Raptor.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Apparently each Raptor is a little different. This one has Dilophosaurus coloration to my eyes.. and was said to be nicknamed "Blue".

Roselaar

Good to know they're still using animatronics!

The Jurassic World site just unlocked 4 new dinosaurs. I got an e-mail about it just now. (Gotta love Raptor Pass)  :))

Thanks for the heads up! It definitely appears that the CGI renders that appear on the site are of a lower caliber than the dinosaurs' film appearances.

Looking at the new size comparison chart I've made some interesting observations. Somehow the Mosasaurus is listed as only 60' despite the one in the trailer definitely being much larger. The Baryonyx is substantially shorter in height than the similarly long Suchomimus. And the Pteranodon looks toothless!

Actually, it isn't definite ( http://jurassiraptor.tumblr.com/post/104208746012/in-defense-of-jurassic-worlds-mosasaur ).
