Neat checklist! A few additions:

S1 T. rex, special white version
S3 Acrocanthosaurus limited (analogous to the S2 white Allosaurus)

Thank you.

Added those 2.
Also added the "Encyclopedia of The Paleozoic" new variants. Is it allright?

That's a good question--the Encyclopedia of the Paleozoic figures aren't quite the same sculpts, although they are the same poses and sizes. The new ones are definitely more detailed, and of course they have bases and different places for the joins. They're also part of the CapsuleQ Museum series, so if you're going to include them I would probably also include the rest of the sets.

I would think that the Capsule Series should be considered 'current' dinotales figures--it's pretty much the new wave of Kaiyodo dinos in that vein!

That said, I agree that the Palaeozoic figures cannot be considered variants of the Dinotales versions--they are not simple repaints, but new (although very similar) sculpts. Plus, their bases and presentation are different.

It would be like considering the new version of the Dunkleosteus skull or Anomalocaris to be variants of the originals--they are new models, from the same company (the way there are different T.rexes sculpts even in the first 7 original series).

Of course, that also opens up other questions--how do the Expo figures fit in? Not just the newer capsule series, but the earlier, original sculpts (like the Szechuanosaurus-Psittacosaurus-etc series)? Or the Museum series Futabusaurus/skeleton/Nipponites? Or the National Museum series? Or the Coca-Cola/Jurassic Park series? The rabbit hole can go very deep...

What I'll do is put the CapsuleQ releases in a separate sheet. Sheet 1 will be "Dinotales", sheet 2 will be "CapsuleQ Prehistoric".  But the expo figures are beyond me, I haven't any of those and I lack any information about them. If some one can do that prehistoric expo checklist, I'll integrate within this.

Well, those are different. They were originally released under Kaiyodo Dinoland label and got re-released under the Dinotales label.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Any thoughts on the new theri? I'm sure most are pretty pleased about the 3 new species here but ah, as for Kaiyodo's modern take on theri...I'm not sure what to feel other than "it looks like a bear ._."

Well, it looks more like a long-necked sloth or chalicothere, which is probably pretty appropriate. I'll know more when mine gets here...eventually.

Where could I commercially order one of these sets? I wouldnt mind having it myself...In fact that asks a question...the Capsule Q series I assume began with the Sets that were ceratopsians, and the Tyrannosaurids set, followed by I am guessing the Marine reptiles set and subsequently this one or is that incorrect?
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

There was also the Cretaceous Life set and the Paleozoic Era set. So a total of 6 sets now, if I'm not mistaken. HLJ carries them sometimes, but usually very briefly.

They named the figure "Therizinosauridae".
It's probably not supposed to be a Therizinosaurus (or have they found one in Japan?).

Six prehistoric CapsuleQ Museum sets so far is correct.

Pic spam incoming then, for all to preview the "Therizinosauridae". Just got mine in the mail ^-^

I don't think the legs warped though, they are pretty stiff (except at the ankles) and looked natural.

Measures about 6.2cm?

But yeah, it looks more like a certain bird with its snout and crown when seen from above. I'm not sure what to feel about the feathers though, with the bare fingers for this family.

Must've been the mail and all but hey, is Kaiyodo using a different material this time?

My Toyotamaphimeia had the same problem when it arrived.
I pushed the upper jaw strongly back two or three times and it was okay, never turned back :).

Unfortuntaely, they aren't normally available to just order online--some sites, like aforementioned HLJ or Rakuten, will gather some capsules from the local machines and resell them--but there is no direct purchase (outside of Japan).

And they do not remain available for long. Honestly, contact Brett (bmknj17). He has sources, and the prices aren't bad--but if it's past their time, they can become harder to find (not impossible, but harder).

bigbear

I've picked up all of my Kaiyodo dinosaurs on Ebay. Mostly in sets. Prices are rising, though.

Lanthanotus

It seems, Google ended picasa.

Would you mind to link your very helpfull Kaiyodo gallery once more, Sean, would be greatly appreciated?

So dinotales are great little figures but terribly frustrating when in storage or display. They seem to unilaterally decide to just fall apart. I'm considering mine for permanence. Anyone else done this or advise on the pitfalls of doing so (other than loss of resell value or may be storage issues)
