My problem isn't solved at all. I'm a registered member at Postimage, and I have (had) four albums uploaded: one for the ATF, one for the DTF, and one for Rebor's stuff. All of them disappeared. I checked my posts and 90% of said pics now have been replaced by Postimage warnings saying the picture has been removed. Only five or six pictures still show up, but if I copy and paste in my browser the actual links for them it does redirect to a Postimage blank page. There's a "contact us" function on the site, so I dropped them a message a day since I noticed the removal, no answer whatsoever. Frankly I'm fed up with those image hosting sites, never been a Photobucket user, thank God, but I used https://imgsafe.org/ for my first uploads, and the site was down so frequently, with the images consequentially unavailable, that I had to switch to Postimage, and now happens this. As I said before no more uploads by me, thanks Postimage.

That's very strange, and I can't really say I blame you for leaving.

Perhaps I'll look for another host, too. I do not like that dodgy behaviour from PI.

Now I can't see my photos! I went to postimage and there was a message warning that the site wasn't secure, I don't think that is a problem like PB that is taking down pics to make us pay for the service, but a malfunction of the site, maybe they were hacked or something?

This seems to have affected all of the postimage-hosted images on the forum, none of which are appearing at the moment. Hopefully this is a temporary glitch!

I do not know if it just me, but Everytime im on the forum, i need to Refresh the page in order to see the images. Somtimes i need to do this more then once

I can see my photos again, and others too.

I am on the process of transferring some of my photos to Post Image and even replaced around 1/5 of my photobucket photos here.

Hope everything goes well in the future.  Seems to be working fine at the moment.  ;D

I have purged Photobucked from all my museum threads now.
All pictures can be seen again now :).

I'm not sure if there's anything left for me to do here at the DTF.
What I have to do now is repairing all those walk-arounds over at the ATF .... phew!
It takes time, but I will.

Wonderful! I know it eats up so much time, so thanks very much! Your threads are a great resource. :)

If anyone is looking for another alternate image site, I've been using Imgur for quite a while now. You can post images/albums privately to share on other sites, the urls are short, and you can control what size the image is shared at.

I've noticed recently that a lot of formerly dead Photobucket images have reappeared. If anyone else here is curious as to why this is, I link you this article: https://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2018/05/17/photobucket-drops-pricing-that-angered-millions.html

TL;DR Photobucket has a new CEO who realised the over-excessive fee didn't work and has decided to scrap it, and in the process bring back the dead images affected by the people not paying the fee.

DinoToyForum

They removed the fees entirely, or just reduced them? (Too busy to read article!)
Is it a coincidence that this news comes in just as all postimage-hosted images happen to be down? (I'm getting a can'f find server message from postimage).

To answer your question, I'll directly quote the article here:

'The new prices start at $1.99 per month for 10 gigabytes of images stored and rise to $3.99 monthly for 20 gigabytes and $8.99 for two terabytes of storage. All the plans enable third-party hosting for a $2.49 monthly add-on price.'

So, in short a reduction, albeit a massive one.

OK, thanks. So, presumably images associated with free hosting have not reappeared.

The article also says this:

'Photobucket on Wednesday also turned back on millions of users' images that were still linked to around the web.'

Me personally, I interpret this as them turning back on the formerly dead images temporarily, to entice people to pay the new fee. My only question at this point is this: Is it too late for Photobucket at this point?

Oh, of course it is too late, how they held their users hostage was despicable and no amount of back-peddaling will undo that. They are untrustworthy. Forgive them at your peril!

Don't worry, I already use a service that isn't Photobucket or PostImage, so I'm not forgiving them either  >:D
