Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Their Herrerasaurus seems to be inspired by this:

"Inspired" is great a word for what they made of it  :D

That's a shame. If REBOR made the same model, it would have looked more or less identical.

Irritation

Is it me or does the carnotaurus look like the one from Primal Carnage?

CityRaptor

Seems to be based on the same artwork, although Schleich basing figures on video games is not new, as their Dino Crisis Mosasaurus

and their old exclusive Raptor

show.

No, it would have looked like this:

The artwork the Carnotaurus figure was "inspired" by was posted in the Schleich 2017 thread. It's nearly identical to that artwork. So no, it wasn't based on that game one, though it is sort of similar. In fact, I have to wonder, does anyone know the artist of this one was? Has anyone tried to contact them and inform them of Schleich using their design? AKA this one:

If we can trust those prices the Dinogorgon must be a relatively small figure, possibly kind of the size of Dimetrodon. Curiously that site have no image for Velociraptor, Carnotaurus and Tyrannosaurus, despite all three have already been revealed by Schleich themselves through their official channels. I think it won't be long for the pictures to show up though, sure we won't have to wait until november or december like with Collecta and Papo.

Josesaurus rex

Why does Schleich make worse dinosaurs every year?  >:( It is a shame, because their figures of animals today are excellent and I do not understand that with that potential they make dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals so basic and not precise. That is my humble opinion.

Faelrin

Now the wait for the images. Since its listing has been confirmed, I really hope the Dinogorgon is at least on the same or a similar level to the Dunkleosteus. In other words, even if it is not quite accurate, I want it to be at least somewhat appealing, considering how few figures currently exist for gorgonopsids.

Schleich will screw up one way or another with the new figures. but i truly hope im wrong this time.
"you know you have a lot of prehistoric figures if you have at least twenty items per page of the prehistoric/dinosaur section on ebay." - anon.

tanystropheus

Even a crappy Dinogorgon would qualify for the coveted title of "Best Dinogorgon in the Market" or "The Definitive Dinogorgon".

But, Schleich has a track record of delivering decent therapsids/synapsids and stuff.....so no worries.

CityRaptor

But is Schleich aware that the majority of their products are Synapsids?

im apprehensive because Dinogorgon had sharp teeth and their Dimetrodon has really crappy blunted teeth.

No.
The booklet that comes with their Dimetrodon says something like: ''I'm not a dinosaur, I actually belong to the group of reptiles.''
There is so much wrong with that sentence.

terrorchicken

I forgot nows around the time of year we (slowly) start getting the reveals for 2018.

Im really excited for that dinogorgon! I have to admit at first had no idea it was an early synapsid, thought it was a mistranslation of gorgosaurus's name.  O:-)

I know, why I never bothered to read the booklet of the one I got. Also totally read that in Malibu Stacy's voice:

I'd never even heard of a Tawa before! Hahahah!

terrorchicken

me neither, I had to google it. I have a feeling its gonna end up looking like a long necked version of one of their raptors.

tanystropheus

There are folks here that will gladly pick up the Tawa, even if it ends up looking like a Troodon. It's to fulfill the 'obscure' dinosaur checklist  ;)
