Wow, these guys are ambitious. And that's a hell of a turnaround time on Jinyunpelta; the name was only published 6 weeks ago.
Hehe!  I had noticed it was named this year, but I hadn't realised it was less than two months ago!
Might have access to the fossil and info before that. But still a really fast turnaround.

Shonisaurus

What Sim says is true, could have focused on more known dinosaur species whose fossil remains are complete, for example protoceratops, saurolophus and that are little treated in the toy market.

But on the other hand you have to look at the interesting part of this company. They risk making dinosaurs whose remains are scarce and their appearance unknown, that reminds me of the first sculptors of the Crystal Palace London whose newly discovered dinosaurs in this case iguanodon or megalosaurus have a very strange appearance in the wake of recent discoveries, wuerhosaurus for putting a example is unknown and surely (if it is the case) its appearance will change, but in my case I see it from the positive point of view since these speculative dinosaurs will finally have a fair representation in the toy market and with time they will seem strange as they are the iguanodon or the megalosaurus of Invicta to give an example and without for that reason remove that they continue being great figures of not only of toy and of collection and that continue being one of my favorite and beloved companies.

I respect how you feel about this Shonisaurus, but I don't share some of the things you've expressed.  What I find interesting about Vitae is that they're making species that aren't made often which also lack adequate representation in figure form, as well as the high quality of the figures.  Their planned figures of species known from poor remains is an aspect of Vitae I find uninteresting.  This reflects something I feel about prehistoric animals: What makes these animals interesting is that they are real and knowing their appearance is what allows them to be understood as the real animals they were.  In contrast, some species that are named are known from such poor remains that they are not much more than fantasy animals.

Making not very well known prehistoric animals known from good remains can also be a risk I think, and this is something Vitae is doing that I admire.  I don't think there is any need to use species that are known from poor remains.

Or for more recent examples of changing appearances, there's the first CollectA Deinocheirus and every figure of Utahraptor, these are examples of what can happen when a species had an unknown appearance but then more remains are found that show what the species actually looked like.  Where I disagree is that I think animals known from inadequate remains don't need to be made into figures.  There are plenty of species known from good remains that lack adequate representation in figure form, I feel these should be focused on instead of species known from poor remains.

I just cant justify a figure where the shipping costs more than the figure itself! Shipping all around has become pricey, but Id rather just focus on the stuff I can get locally like Safari ltd or from shops where the shipping is more reasonable like Happy Hen or Dejankins. I guess it helps me focus and not go crazy trying to get everything. There's a lot of great stuff out there these days!

consider yourself lucky that you live in a place where you can get all the new safari releases locally.
the place i live, literally all toy shops( including toys r us)  sell either knockoffs or really old collecta releases. therefore to get the more accurate and better and more recent toys i have no choice but to ship from overseas..
at least you still have a ToysRUs!  :'(
all the States has is some older Safaris at Micheal's(though no dinosaurs at mine) and Mojo at Hobby Lobby. And Terra at Target.
and we cant even get Collecta at all, not even through US web sites.  :-\

but everyone will always have chinasaurs! ::)

in the end we have no choice but to buy fake cheaper ones haha

Syndicate Bias

I wouldnt call vitae expensive. Resin kits are more on the whther you can afford more than a couple line. Everything else is affordable as long as you put money away from normal companies like safari and papo and use it for vitae or resin kits

Syndicate Bias

Well maybe not resin kits haha, too expensive

By the way the sinraptor and the zhejiangosaurus Are they PVC or resin? It looks to be plastic or PVC, so the Vitae brand will have a future buyer.

Those labels of the Vitae brand stuck on the legs denote that they are going to be made of PVC. That is very good news.

The two figures look magnificent, and they are also obscure dinosaurs that I like. I love tyrannosaurus rex and triceratops among other classic dinosaur figures but I also like that there are companies that make rare or unknown figures to date in the toy market.

I like the conservative colors of the figures and their details although I see that the sinraptor at first sight I see him with the paint a little careless, it may be an appreciation of me at first sight and too premature.

Zhejiangosaurus:

Thank you for the pictures. Nice to see a nodosaur for a change (rather than another ankylosaur/Euoplocephalus).

The Sinraptor seems a bit over textured (at least, judging from the the closeup pic). Probably looks better in hand.

Mini Minmi

Drats! I find myself tempted by that sinraptor (to be fair, I'm tempted by both of them but if I could only get one I'd go for sinraptor because I have a thing for theropods).

suspsy

Zhejiangosaurus strikes me as an odd choice given how fragmentary it is. I wish someone would make a Tarchia or a Pinacosaurus. Still, the sculpt looks pretty nice.

Both look good, the nodosaur is the best for me, but the Sinraptor looks good too, Dan's Dinosaurs has their previous figures, if these get there and are reasonably priced I'll get them.

Minmiminime

They're not bad, very bland colours and the teeth on the Sinraptor are very blunted and the textures are odd (which massively put me off the Sinoceratops) but if they become available in Europe and the price is alright, I could be tempted!

Apologies for posting the link rather than the pictures, but I don't understand how to post pictures as of yet. I just spotted this news during my commute to work this morning ^-^

EmperorDinobot

Is that a polacanthid?

I just saw these on my FB. I need the Zhejiangosaurus.

postsaurischian

:D The Zhejiangosaurus looks gorgeous! I can't wait to put my hands on this one!!

Patrx

The Zhejiangosaurus looks pretty good overall! A little drab, maybe, but there is that hint of reddish-purple along the side, which is nice.

Primeval12

Where do I get these?

Syndicate Bias

The paint on the sinraptor looks a bit sloppy and the texture makes it look like it has one too many bumps. Hopefully the chilantaisaurus fares better in this regard
