Just purchased a Chilantaisaurus, looking forward to receiving it! Was originally going to wait til more pictures of it appeared online, or maybe even a review on the blog, but it just looks so good and I just couldn't wait any longer :)

Syndicate Bias

I need some size comparisons of the Chilantaisaurus first. Maybe with a papo or rebor so I know what I'm looking at

S @Syndicate Bias

I haven't got my own photos, but the Chilantaisaurus is supposed to be fairly small. If you've got the Papo Ceratosaurus (L20cm x H8.5cm / L 7.8 inches x H 3.1 inches), it's a little bit smaller than that (L18cm x H5cm / L 7 inches x H 1.9 inches)

Andy's Dinosaur Reviews did a review on the Chilantaisaurus and compared it to the Papo Tyrannosaurus in his video.

Minmiminime

Wow, that is tiny! Very nice, though. I'm still fighting temptation to go for that one, the Wuerhosaurus and the Sinraptor for a start...

Shonisaurus

I bought the chilantiaosaurus and I can tell you that this figure has no sustainability problems and is a great figure although perhaps the colors of that figure would have preferred them with more vivid and more conservative colors.

The wuerhosaurus of Vitae that I have just received is immense. I never thought it was so big for the price that I bought it.

Minmiminime

Really? That's excellent, I'm quite surprised about that!! I thought it would be very small. Typically, I didn't order that one in the end 🙈 I've ordered the Sinraptor and the Chilantaisaurus though 😊

Very reassuring! Am currently waiting on a Chilantaisaurus, had my doubts based on some pictures I've seen posted by other users, but it's great to see some nice words :D

Interesting...they've slipped a limited edition Allosaurus through! It's very expensive for what it is, and to me it looks plain and goofy, the head's pretty horrible to my eyes, and the feet look awkward. Nice, unique idea of magnets in the feet to keep it stable on the base, but it seems a bit of of a missed opportunity:

Carnosaur

Yes the Chilantaisaurus is small. but totally worth picking up.
I have other dinosaurs that scale nicely with it, as you can see here.

Agreed, the sculpt look nice but the face just looks so weird. I don't like the paint job either, no disrespect to anyone but it looks like someone's first attempt at painting a model with an airbrush.

Minmiminime

avatar_IrritatorRaji @IrritatorRaji I couldn't agree more! Those wrinkled, hollow fenestrae look a bit "Freddie Kruger" to me, especially with that pink highlighting. Sculptors seem to struggle with Allosaurus, it frequently ends up looking derpy or weird. As the line seems otherwise very promising, this is a major disappointment! Especially at that price 😱

Still awaiting my Chilantaisaurus and Sinraptor! Looking forward to those arriving 😊

Man, that is a sad Allosaurus.  No detail in the model at all it seems like.

However, the magnets in the feet to keep it on a base isn't a bad idea.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

Flaffy

It's not a Vitae figure though

Yep, it's actually the Prehistoric Passions Allosaurus. It has also been out for at least a month (not necessarily 'brand new' or 'limited edition'  ;) ), as shown by this post here.

Either that, or Vitae has gotten into bootlegging OK, it's unlikely that's the case  :P

postsaurischian

The pictures on aliexpress clearly show that it's made by Prehistoric Passions.
I wonder why Minmiminime submits that it's by Vitae.
By the way: PP's Pentaceratops is a wonderful model. XXH (sculptor) seems to have his ups and downs.

Minmiminime

Ah, my mistake! The information came from a friend. I followed a link to a video of Chung Chung Tat unboxing this very model. I assumed it was correct, and as it then came up alongside the Vitae dinosaurs in my AliExpress account I didn't question it further. My apologies! I am deeply relieved this is no Vitae dinosaur..!

I want to buy from Aliexpress some of the new Vitae figures but I'd like to know a little about what was other's experience with them like never was lost an item even with free shipping? There's a big difference  between free shipping (surface mail) or the cheapest air mail?

Probably I can get you some.
It's $15 each plus $10 on shipping for all combined.

That's really good to know, avatar_acro-man @acro-man ! I ordered mine several weeks ago from AliExpresd (17th August), chose the free shipping option, and suspect I'll have to wait a few more weeks yet..! I'm very patient so I don't really mind, though. I just hope they get here in good condition!

I live in the States, and my order from AliExpress took a little less than two weeks.
