That Triceratops has MINI written all over it. Whose idea was it to make it a normal scale figure?

On the plus side of things, Mattel's mini JP figures are quite decent.

For some reason last night  I had a mini-dream that the skulls from those goo tubes were inside a t rex figure as extreme dino damage?

These dreams are getting pretty serious.

Ok, we got our first video review of wave 2 roarivores:

So the Pteranodon is a Wave 2 release after all. I had a feeling it was when its in-package shot was revealed alongside the other Wave 2 figures. JP Toys might want to correct that then (if they haven't already). If reviewers are getting these, I hope this means the figures will be releasing soon (as in later this month).

I'm glad the Ankylosaurus and Pteranodon have unique sounds, compared to the other Roarivores (except maybe the Triceratops from Wave 1). Paint schemes and sculpts on these are nice, though sadly the Ceratosaurus lacks painted claws (probably because of the more complicated paint scheme), and has goofy teeth, but I knew that already from the in-package shot of it, plus the pics of it at toy fair. I think the blue-green and grey is pretty nice on the Ankylosaurus, since it'll be different in color scheme from the other herbivores in this line, though I wish the spikes matched the colors of the body better, instead of being just white. I am glad the blue-green is actually a bit darker (like it looks in the in-package shot), since it looked extremely bright in the pics of it at toy-fair (probably because of the intense lighting there).

And my suspicions were right. The Legacy Collection (Wave 1 JPIII and Wave 3 JW) Pteranodons definitely scale better with everything else in this line, but I'll still pick the roarivore Pteranodon up just because of the sound feature, and so the out of scale Attack Pack Dimorphodon I have, can have a buddy.

The Ceratosaurus is definitely the best out of the 3.
The ankylosaurus looks weird, maybe it's the triangular face and parrot beak. The rows of spikes on the side aren't particularly good looking either, not is the paint job.

I definitely hope to get my mits on that Ceratosaurus!

Now that this has been pointed out to me, it makes so much sense  :o

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

This and the orange raptor are colored rather masterfully.

Faelrin

If only the Legacy raptor had the striping like on this one, it would be more accurate. Anyways, I can't believe this whole time I missed the connection for why there was a green raptor in that exclusive Legacy Collection set. Or at least I'm hoping it was done intentionally. Maybe I'll pick it up eventually after all.

That's exactly what I thought.

I also think the shade of orange is too light on the legacy raptor; it needs to be more reddish.

You've already already seen this probably, but wow...this is really creepy  :o

Meh... I don't really like toys that do too much on their own. I prefer neutral toys that allow you to use your imagination for details. Articulation can be a lot of fun but it's as far as I take it personally. Though I admit those movements are pretty well made.

Normally, I'm wholly in the same camp. It took me up to adulthood to let go of my hangups about articulation, never mind my general disdain for electronic or action feature toys.

In this case, however, I'll make an exception for the Indoraptor since I like the character and design so much. This version also seems to have a better headsculpt than the non-electronic version, which is nothing to sneeze at in my eyes.

It's like the Dragonheart toys from my childhood. I wasn't always thrilled with the action features, but at the time, good looking dragon figures were practically nonexistent, which made those something of a holy grail to me, despite my nitpicks.

The Indoraptor has a great design. Superb articulation and poseability but I'm not thrilled with the blunted teeth and the gloss finish is a bit too much. It clashes with the other Mattel dinosaurs. I am still hoping for a high-end Indoraptor toy/statue. Hopefully, they package something with the Blu-ray set.

You know, after seeing the movie today, I saw absolutely no sign of the mysterious t. rex accessory! There are quite a few machines, mostly gas-related (nitrogen gas, i think? it runs through the manor in pipes and canisters) but none of them looked anything like that red box.
