That was cool seeing them using the actual figures. I think the articulation (especially on the Indoraptor) definitely pays off for use in stop motion.

Edit: That Destructasaurs Pteranodon set looks neat. I wonder if they have any others listed up there?

Huh, that IS cool.

This looks really good. I like the articulation in the wings.

Awesome! It's like Dino Riders all over again  ;D

Someone on insta got ahold of the Destruct-o-saurs line.

I'm looking into their connection.

Also, Wave II dinosaurs just appeared in NZ on raptorqueen89's insta.

Does the destructosaurs person have pictures?

As much as I dislike the Jurassic World Pteranodon design, I do find it odd that none of the Mattel Pteranodons emulate it outside of the colour scheme. Even the larger Roarivores figure that features its colors is still based on the JP 3 toothed design.

I'm pretty fond of the designs. I don't know which species it is, but I like how since they're all females , they have the appropriately short crests. I also like how they come in a wide variety of colours in the movie- Blue heads, red heads, red, orange, yellow wings, green bodies, grey bodies etc. I wonder if they were intentionally cloned that way, or if it's just natural.

I kind of liked how the Pteranodon's looked in JPIII minus the teeth. They were just more menacing, and honestly I think the one's in JW were a bit too shrinkwrapped for my liking. Though I did like that they gave them the short crest because they are meant to be females. I like both color schemes. For the figures it would have been nice if they weren't all retooled versions of the same sculpt (applies to the jumping raptor too), though I understand it saved them production costs, aside from the fact these are marketed for children.

Anyways, I'm hoping to pick up the legacy JPIII Pteranodon this week, assuming it is in stock when I go to Target after therapy, if the Wave 2 figures haven't released yet in my area. I also want to pick up the Imaginext Compies the next go too (again if in stock), since I kind of forgot about these being an option (even if a bit cartoony in appearance), they are pretty small (smaller then the Velociraptor figures and Stiggy for example, from what I've seen), and would do well for my species collection without needing the ones that come with the Legacy human figures. Not quite to scale like the Legacy ones are, but neither is the Attack Pack Dimorphodon in my collection either. I think their sculpts are also a bit more in line with the compies in the film (in the head shape at least, since proportions are cartoony), then the Legacy Pack ones. Though the compy in the Descructasaurs pack with the Dilophosaurus looks pretty spot on sculpt wise and would be more in line then these. Until and unless that is released, I have to go with these for now.

I highly doubt the Pteranodons in Jurassic Park 3 were supposed to be all females, since they had a nest with babies.

I think he was referring to the JW ones not JP3.  I actually can't recall hearing it said all the JW pterosaurs are female  come to think of it..or any of the dinosaurs.   Maybe Wu just let them be both sexes now?

JP3 was a huge mess plot wise.  From what I gather all the yellow orange pteros were female and there was supposed to be an Alpha Pteranodon, much like the Raptors in that film but reversed.  We have images of the maquette and we even got figures of it, but it was cut from the film.

Dilopho

Yes, The Alpha Pteranodon.

I do like the "Alpha" trend in JP3. It's interesting to see how all of the illegal/experimental dinosaurs and dinosaur variants in the InGen lab area had an Alpha- The Brachiosaurus had an alpha male (up front, grazing there...) , the Velociraptors had an alpha female, and the Pteranodon had an alpha male.

But yes, yes...I meant the JW Pteranodon when I was talking about the crests and colours. Take a look:

Loads of colour variants!! (if you can even tell due to the image resolution..)

Primeval12

Just got the mosasaurus. $30 down the drain but SO worth it. I actually had to clear off a new shelf just to fit the behemoth. This is the first time since middle school that I had to clear a new dinosaur shelf.

I can't say one way or another about the rest of the dinosaurs in Jurassic World, but Blue and Rexy(obviously since she was part of the original park population) were both female.  And I believe that, at times, they called the Indominus a female, but I could be misremembering, it's been some time since I watched Jurassic World.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

Flaffy

I wonder if Mattel will retool their Pachyrhinosaurus to become a Sinoceratops, or just make an entirely new design.
Really hope to see Sino in toy form.

Dilopho

Well, the Indominus rex was a female. The Indoraptor, however, is a male.

They're possibly going to release a Styracosaurus, which is very cool, but maybe they'll change it to Sinoceratops...?

MLMjp

I do want them to make a Sinoceratops but keeping the Pachyrhinosaurus. And the Styracosaurus if they release it. Better have two or three ceratopsians instead of one. :)

Faelrin

Yeah the Pachyrhinosaurus would be cool to keep, but at the same time its been changed to Sinoceratops in the film, marketing materials, and even in the Mattel app. I really do wonder if it will be retooled before its released, if it is intended to be a Wave 3 release they might have time. If not, then well at least it shares the color scheme and will merely be a reminder that the design/genus was changed after the toy was finalized.

I do hope the Styracosaurus sculpt is released because it would be the first Jurassic toy of that genus, and it's one of my favorite dinosaurs, especially after the one David Silva did for Hasbro never came to light. Heck it might even hold me over until his BotM ceratopsian series is released (same goes for the Wave 3 Attack Pack Protoceratops actually).

Edit: avatar_Primeval12 @primeval12 Neat pic. Good job getting that Mosasaurus too. I have a feeling that one is going to go for crazy amounts on the after market after this line is all said and done with being sold.
