Anyone else's allosaurus having standing problems? Mine keeps taking tumbles off the shelf. Poor guy :(

avatar_Primeval12 @primeval12

Mine too! I've also got two Baryonyx figures, both of which struggle to stand :/

My Allosaurus also has problems standing and it leans a lot to it´s right side, sometimes I have to move its right leg forward and make it stand on it´s ankle for better support.

Changing the topic...

Ladies and Gentlement!

Please be warned!

This is the perfect combination...of two of the most dangerous predators that have ever walked the earth.

We call it....

The Grab n´Growl Indoraptor! (EPIC MUSIC IN THE BACKROUND)

This is the final form of the electronic/TV driver Indoraptor.

Also, regarding this spoiler-y set:
Spoiler
[close]

I have been thinking... Do you guys think it is worth waiting until it gets released? I say this becase I still don't have neither a Blue or Indoraptor. If anything one of the main reasons to get the set is the accessory for the you-know-what-scene. Also it seems like the Indoraptor has a better head.

Also take in to account the money. Will be worth to pay a little bit more for this set because I will most likely have to import it? Or just get a regular Battle damage blue and Indoraptor?

Look, call me crazy, but are these animals showing up in movies just for the purposes of selling them?

I just figured out the ankle standing trick today. I also propped her up against my 2013 Hasbro allo (the only Hasbro dino along with the pachy and Indominus that I would dare put next to my JWFK toys.)

Not to be rude, but can you keep posts like this in the movie threads? This thread is for toy discussions, only.

Its no problem, Im pointing out a non-related to movie trend. I might just have to start out something on sales and pop-culture...

As far as I am aware, the post appears to be directly related to toys. Plus, there were no spoilers revealed. I would say it was a legitimate inquiry.

A lot of the animals they're making aren't in the movies, so I don't think so. Even the original "Jurassic Park" toy line featured a number of animals that weren't in the film.

I should make a new forum for this, before this whole thing gets side tracked, for the people who still are here for the original topic

I disagree. IMHO, this is on topic, though I don't think they add new dinosaurs just to sell toys. Actually, maybe with Stiggy now that I think about it. BUT SHE'S SO ADORABLE THAT I DON'T CAREEEEEEEE xD

The Indoraptor toys, while fun sculpts, have such off-putting teeth. I sound like a broken record but I would love to see a high end sculpt or maquette.

Don't think it is off topic. Generally speaking cartoon series are made to sell toys. Toonami prematurely pulled the plug on the stellar ThunderCats reboot because the show failed to move volumes of Bandai's toys (the truth is the toys were subpar and the company switched scales multiple times, and WB mismanaged the entire brand). As a result, we now have some hideous CalArts inspired TC for 2019. Dino Riders was another expensive show with superb voice acting, and the toys sold well, but it was still too expensive to maintain the brand. The show was created to push the toys. I don't think this is necessarily the case with big budget film franchises like Jurassic World, but it is an opportunity nevertheless, and no one wants to leave money on the table. I have a feeling that a number of these Mattel JP molds will be repurposed for the eventual relaunch of Dino Riders (the same way Smithsonian Museum repurposed the Tyco brand).

Lizerd

That does make sense, with cartoons at least. It balances price in and price out, as cartoons are cheaper than movies.

I hope this means reviews of the others will be up somewhere soon as well. I really want to pick up that Velociraptor set, the Dilophosaurus set (partly because of the compy), and of course the Dimetrodon set, despite its anatomical issues.

Edit: Of course I'm holding off to see which critter the Dimetrodon comes with (which should be Microceratus, but the promo images for the other sets seem to have different critters then in the final product (like with the Dilophosaurus having the Dimorphodon, but actually coming with the compy).

I will say this much, whenever a big budget movie features a particular dinosaur it becomes more popular with the general public. This ultimately leads to companies producing more toys/models of a particular genera. I wouldn't be surprised is someone produced a decent Sinoceratops, Allosaurus, or Stygimoloch to ride on the "Jurassic World" wave.

Lizerd

Well your theory would explain why dino toys showed up in themes for each movie, such as t.rexs, spinos, etc

Not the best Pteranodon but definitely a decent excuse for picking up the coveted Microceratus.

You can also pick the Velociraptor, wich is pretty cool and also comes with the Microceratus
