Yeah I know there's plenty of decent Dimetrodon's out there, and I do plan to get them eventually (such as Papo's, Safari Ltd's, maybe even some others like CollectA's even though I'm not the biggest fan of the color scheme, it's still a great sculpt). Still this one is made to fit in with the other Mattel JW figures, which is really why I'd go for it (well that and it could be possible it might be hard to get later on, and it's cheap now. Also the Microceratus is a pretty decent sculpt too, assuming it actually comes with it).

Don't forget the Schleich version. It's actually pretty decent even if it is a Papo hack.

You're right. And that one would probably fit better alongside the Dunkleosteus and Dinogorgon they released too, just because of the similar styles.

There's a review on the Legacy Collection Spinosaurus!:

The eyes are definitely looking a bit green here. I really like how it scales up well with the Thrash and Throw Tyrannosaurus (which I really need to get eventually). I can't wait to get this one.

I think it looks amazing! I'm so glad that, while choosing which Rex to buy, I went with the Thrash n Throw because this Spino is gonna look great along side it!

Tail seems pretty long in this video 1:40.

If it´s starting to pop out in the UK them maybe next week it will arrive to Spain along with the Legacy human figures. Can't wait to compare this one to my Animatronic Spino.

I don't like how they corrected the wrists' posture, it ain't screen accurate. Except for that nitpick it's a terrific toy, same class as colossal Rexy and the Mosasaurus.

Well, it depends. In some screenshots, the JP Spino has "bunny hands". (I was going to post direct links from Google images, but Google images is broken, intentionally by the company as of 2018 >:()

If you type in "Spinosaurus Jurassic Park" onto the Google images search bar, you will notice that the first picture (for me, anyway) has the bunny hands, but the next two (also from the film) don't.

I agree, along with T-rex and Mosa, the new Spino is a must have. I am confident that Mattel can make a really good Legacy Indominus Rex.

tanystropheus

Compared to EC T-rex, they've affixed the Spinosaurus tongue to the bottom of the mouth.

It must have been done intentionally in order to prevent the exchange of affectionate gestures between the two theropods.

Note: This is a copy of a post I made in the Mattel Jurassic World 2019 thread, I figured I'd post it here as well so more people can see it.

Was bored online and was looking to see if any new figures were up on Amazon, and I found these.

Attack Pack Dracorex:

Attack Pack Coelurus:

Attack Pack Rhamphorhynchus:

The pre-order date listed is October 1st, 2019, which seems really far off; however, that's bound to change.

Neat to see that more species are being released, especially some from the books, like the Coelurus.

Flaffy

Welp my wish has came true, Coelurus is finally getting a toy!  ;D
Hopefully it won't suffer from goofy lack-luster sculpting, sloppy paintjobs or messed up proportions.  O:-)

Really surprised they decided to do another small pterosaur, maybe I'll pick up the dimorphodon after all to accompany the Rhamphorhynchus.

The Spinosaurus, as with the rest of the line is a great contender for a repaint. These sculpts just have so much potential.

All images I see - movie scenes, animatronic or concept art - seem to have classic JP pronated hands. In any case I think they should have kept Spinosaurus' hands pronated for consistency sake. They did the same "mistake" with the Baryonyx, the toy displays anatomically accurate hands, while in the movie and promotional images it has pronated hands like all JP theropods.

Ted Brothers on YouTube did some terrific screen accurate repaints of Rexy, Blue, Indoraptor, Allosaurus, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx and Stygimoloch. They've even resculpted the teeth to some of them, the result is simply stunning.

Speaking of the T.rex tongue. I have already came across quite the amount of extreme chomping rexes and all the ones I tested did not raise their tongue when opening the jaws, in fact I tried to move the tongue manualy and I couldn't. I guess this means there is a second edition of the EC T.rex without the sticking tongue?

I suppose Mattel takes their science really seriously. Consider the June 2018 Article from Scientific American, "T. rex Couldn't Stick Out Its Tongue":

Faelrin

The fact they've 'fixed' the tongue mechanism on the EC Tyrannosaurus is good, but sadly for me I already have the one that has the tongue out from a while ago.

Also yes those new figures seem interesting. I wonder if the Battle Damage Plesiosaurus I found on Brickseek is a 2019 release as well (since it is not in the app). I'm really glad they are going to continue this license, and with new critters to boot. I am definitely interested in Dracorex, and the new pterosaur is a good choice too. Coelurus was also on the DPG list too, so that's nice to see it getting a toy too.

Looks like they could be retools too- Stygimoloch can easily pass as a Dracorex with a slightly different head sculpt. And Coelurus... could be like gallimimus? ^^ Rhamphorynchus could be Dimorphodon.

As a side note, I really want Mattel to pull a Hasbro in terms of releasing figures- You know how Hasbro kept releasing the same Kenner and JP3 figures for almost a decade , but just changed the colour schemes and slightly changed the sculpts every time?
Well, Mattel is a bit more respectable in that they will likely keep making new figures while they have the license. But I feel like unless they do re-release some figures, people won't be able to get them- here in the UK, I haven't seen the action attack figures or the Mosasaurus. And I may never get to own one, because soon the only place I'll be able to get one is on ebay, wayyyy overpriced and affordable!

I would love to see another Jurassic Park Dinosaurs line, Mattel-style. They could even do a male rex, and they have a lot of options too with all the videogames and their designs.

...Also, It'd be quite nice for them to retool the Velociraptor at some point- any of them- and release it as the JW:Evolution Deinonychus. It'd be pretty easy, they'd just have to do what they did for their JP3 raptor and make a new head sculpt and paintjob.

Time is of the Essence

Is the Suchomimus or any of the other new ones in stores yet, or are they only on Amazon?

Loon

Posted these in the 2019 thread as well, I also came across these future attack packs:
Velociraptor
Protoceratops
Herrerasaurus
The Protoceratops is probably not the wave 3 figure, and most likely a repaint given the October 1st, 2019 release date. I'm also thinking that the Velociraptor and Herrerasaurus are repaints of the current attack packs. I do hope that at least the Velociraptor is a new mold; if not, maybe Mattel could start repainting existing raptor figures into the members of Blue's pack?

mgaguilar

Jesu Cristo I am IN LOVE with how Mattel is going full-throttle on the Jurassic World line. So much potential and so much (hopefully) getting fulfilled.
So excited to see what else is in store. I do hope since it's an anniversary, they will continue releasing new figures for several years.

Those Velociraptors are an easy opportunity for profit, given so many people want a raptor pack. I do hope they fix the size of the feet on most of them though, since they have already made strides towards doing so on other figures.
