Nice review! This is arguably one of the best JP Rex toy!

It's really sad that people buy into this... Who knows how many shelves the scalper cleared, preventing other people and most importantly kids from purchasing their favourite figure. While the scalper's actions are distasteful, it's the impatient buyers who fuel this type of behaviour that affects us all.

So I've been wondering, should I get Story Pack or Attack Pack Blue? Or both? I kind of prefer the sculpt a bit more on the Attack Pack one, but the Story Pack Blue is a bit more film accurate with the white stripe alongside the blue markings (and painted foot claws too).

@ChrisLikesDinos Thanks for the in depth review on the Thrash and Throw T. rex. Are you doing any more of these?

Also did anyone notice that one Velociraptor (with the Gallimimus repaint) has no paint detail? It does seem similar to the one image floating about with the Pachycephalosaurus and Grant figures (and many others), although that one does have paint detail. How odd.

I personally am interested in tracking down what I believe is the Walmart exclusive Battle-Damage Blue, with best of both worlds:
Accurate non JP3 head sculpt, detailed patterning, and painted toe claws

So I suggest you look for this particular Blue as well is you have access to a Walmart.

I've noticed that as well, a shame really. I wanted to make an entire flock of unique Gallimimus, but that darn cheap grey raptor is getting in the way.

I'm really tempted to buy every single Attack-Pack Dilophosaurus and Raptor variant for an impressive squad of tiny terrors, I wonder if anyone will be joining me  ;D

I think I saw someone posted that the Jurassic World Mattel App is released. They stated in the tutorial that in order to unlock the facts, you must scan the bottom of the figure's foot, so I think it's safe to say this can be a catalog for the new toys and their repaints. Even though it may not be complete, apps are easy to update and add more to the registry, which probably explains why not everything is in the app.

Confirmed Spinosaurus with original JP/// paint. Baby Rex there too.

Wouldn't Chinasaur levels mean that it's great now?
Given the products that PNSO and Vitae spit out recently.
I think we really should stop associating Chinasaur with shoddy quality.
Our Chinese friends wouldn't appreciate that link.

I personally don't find PNSO and Vitae products top quality, but that's subjective. That said, these are (were, in PNSO case) two proper businesses located in China, which is quite different than generic nameless manufacturers where the classic stuff we call chinasaurs is coming from. Also, lots of bootlegs come from China, and I'm sure that our chinese friends are well aware that their country is the world's biggest producer of counterfeits of basically everything, not only dinosaur toys. Which sounds ironic considering that lots of original products by famous western brands are made in China anyway.

I'm tempted by these two sculpts too, but I'm a bit hesitant on the raptor's huge feet.

I have plenty of Wal-Marts and Targets in my area. Are there pics of those store exclusives already?

Not that I know of, individual standalone figure photo shoots that is.
You can however track down leaks, or have a sneak peek of the upcoming store exlusives in the big group shot with Alan Grant.

Flaffy

Oh look! Blind bags! Yay......... shoot.
Strange how there are 2 types of packaging on these mini figures, one is a blind pack, while the other has a clear packaging.

Guys, a new T.rex has been spotted in Mexico, apparently is the Legacy collection T.rex and it is called Extreme Chompin´ Tyrannosaurus rex:
https://www.reddit.com/r/JurassicPark/comments/83im43/currently_unannounced_extreme_chompin_rex_toy/

No info of how big is it.

Gotta say, It looks pretty cool. If it turns out to be Thrash n´Throw size, Should I try to get it or just go for the Thrash´n throw T.rex?

mgaguilar

@MLMjp I just saw that! looks like it has less seams! Hopefully the neck isn't as thick as I think it may be.
I might have to grab this one when available. Is it the same size as the Thrash and Throw?

Loon

I honestly they share a similar digital sculpt, but, I think the lack of seams in this"legacy" figure looks better. I think it just comes down to preference, the play feature of the thrash n' throw, or the sculptof the extreme chompin' rex.

Loon

Also this must be the owner of that green head that was shown very early on.

I haven't found anything about how big it is unfortunately

Faelrin

I really like the play feature on the Thrash and Throw, but for display purposes this one looks better because of less seam lines. I wonder if this one will be electronic or not too, aside from the size.

I'm not digging the look of the mouth articulation on this guy. Hopefully I'm wrong, but it looks like the only way the mouth opens is the button gimmick, with that huge gape.

stargatedalek

This has less articulation overall, but it's definitely more visible then the T&T rex.

Flaffy

Eh, not a bad toy by any means, but a bit disappointing. Not a fan of the big seam on it's neck though.
IF it had a different colour scheme from the one in the main line, like Rexy's stripes from the original movie or the greenness of the TLW Rexes, it would've been somewhat worth the purchase. But personally, I just see this as a cheaper, less playable version of the Thrash and Throw, pass.

Still surprised they haven't made any Microceratus yet, considering how people might see it as a cute dinosaur.

Appalachiosaurus

That isn't the legacy rex by the way (Legacy series has its own packaging), from what Chris Pugh said on twitter it may be a Mexican exclusive.

Might be a size issue? But hopefully they will. I'm not sure they are in the movie again either...though mentioned they never appeared in JW.
