The Mattel T-Rex is hands down the best JP toy ever. If they manage to make a Spinosaurus as screen accurate as the T-Rex is, then there could be a contender.

I honestly don't think the Spinosaurus is popular enough for Mattel to make a really big version. Very likely at the Roarivore scale, maaaaaaybe at the Thrash n' Throw scale, but not at the same scale as the Super Colossal T. rex or the Mosasaurus.

You sure? Spinosaurus is super-popular, but it's not the "it" dinosaur at the moment. Marketeers are trying to push Baryonyx and Suchomimus at the forefront for the time being.

The Mosasaurus should be (roughly) in scale with the thrash and throw T-Rex, so I would expect a Spinosaurus to be in that size range too. The colossal T-Rex is in a league of its own, I don't think there will be anything that big anymore, even in future lines.

Even one at the size of the Extreme Chomping Legacy T. rex would be fine for me. Honestly anything bigger then the Hasbro JW one is probably okay. I don't expect one to be at the Colossal size either, and if they intend to keep it in scale like the rest of their figures it might be Thrash and Throw T. rex sized.

Anyways I went to a Toys R Us after I went to therapy today since it was in the area. They only had the Rip Run Blue toys so far. The guy I talked with there said they should be getting another truck tomorrow or Thursday I think? My dad gets paid Friday so would be worth another check then (and hopefully score some early). Going to call another one in my area tomorrow to see if they have anything in stock. Also it was really sad going in there with so many empty shelves and things in disarray. It was depressing to see what has happened to one of my favorite childhood (toy) stores.

The Spinosaurus will definitely be in the Thrash-and-Throw size range, Mattel is trying to keep everything in some kind of vague scale.

There's that as well. If there was going to be a Spinosaurus appearing in Fallen Kingdom, then sure, absolutely make a big toy of it, but I have trouble seeing Mattel releasing a big toy of any dinosaur that isn't going to be showing up on screen. Again, I think a Roarivore version is the most likely one we'll see.

And mess the scale in the line because of it? When they clearly stated that dinosaurs will be in scale with the humans? Hey, they even said in a video of NY toy fair that every single dinosaur in their line is in scale (Minus Colossal rex, minis and basic Dino value). Sure, the scale is not perfect but I think if they were going to make a Spinosaurus they will make it at least the size of the Extreme Chompin´ Tyrannosaurus which is only sligthly smaller that the Thrash n´Throw Tyrannosaurus. The extreme chompin´ T.rex is only 25 bucks so is a reasonable price.

But now that I think of it.....a Roarivore style Spinosaurus would actually work, BUT in a bigger size, With a simple action feature and electronics and in the size of either the Extreme Chompin Rex or the Thrash n´Throw. It would not be as Expensive as the Thrash n´Throw which cost more due to the more complex action feature, electronics and Stomping action.

And also people would complain that their Spino is smaller than the T.rex....

Then there probably won't be a Spinosaurus at all then.

Then why is a Spinosaurus in an app that it is supposed to list all the toys?

Although to be fair the app raises some question, like, for some reason there is only two Tyrannosaurus in the app, and adult, and a baby, but there should be at least two adults because both the Thrash n´Throw and the Extreme Chompin have scan codes,(Colosal and anatomy kit don't ) and if in the app Blue has a total of 3 figures, each with a different code, then why not the T.rex. Also the app has a Monolophosaurus and we still don't know where it does fit in the line....

suspsy

Well, we shall see. I'm not a Mattel employee, nor am I in contact with anyone who is, so I could very well be wrong. But given that there doesn't appear to be a Spinosaurus in the upcoming film, I'm highly sceptical right now that there will be a big toy in the works.

Oh the lack of rexes is likely due to it being a cheap throwaway app to promote a toy line.
Scanning either of the 3 large rexes will result in unlocking the same adult rex in the app.

On the spinosaurus, it would be foolish for Mattel to not produce a Spino toy.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I think a Thrash and Throw sized Spiney for the Legacy line will be the best bet, 20-30.00 isn't bad, kids love big carnivores, especially weird ones.  Spiney is pretty popular here in the park with kids and some adults even.  Just had a kid yesterday wearing a Rex shirt but he informed me Spinos were his favorite lol

I don't like the seams. Hope they aren't that bad on the final toys. I do like the sculpts and paint apps for Blue, Stiggy, and the Gallimimus, even though I'm not interested in the dino damage feature. The colors for the other toys seem to be all over the place when compared with others in this line.

What the ugly one in the third picture is supposed to be, Herrerasaurus? The Pteranodon looks pretty bad too.

IrritatorRaji

I'll probably give 'em a pass, the smaller toys (I don't remember their name, the one with one point of articulation?) look better than these.
