Blade-of-the-Moon

Paint is super easy to fix.  This guy being twelve inches long will make that less of  a chore for me, I'll certainly be touching him up.

@Blade-of-the-Moon now THAT is what I am excited for. Can't wait to see what people come up with for revised/improved color schemes.

That Dimetrodon is disgusting. Period. Easily one of the weaker offering in the line. She's missing toes, missing spines, and missing the teeth that give her it's name.
I'm most definitely not a fan of this particular sculptor's work. There is a clear contrast in model quality with the pieces this sculptor produces. I highly suspect this ugly Dimetrodon is sculpted by the same guy who is responsible for the equally horrendous Suchomimus, Allosaurus, and Ceratosaurus. There seems to be a trend among these figures: Oversized goofy teeth that extends waaay too far back, awkward sculpt (proportions), weird jutting eyes and shrink wrapped fenestrae (yes even on the dimetro for some odd reason).

The rest are okay, nothing to write home about, but still better than what Hasbro gave us.
The Microceratus is disappointing, with no colours whatsoever. But eh, it's a cheap accessory dino, I'm glad we got to see it anyways. Still don't get how people mix it up with Protoceratops.

Microceratus may be highly desirable piece after a custom paint job.

Yeah, it's pretty bad especially when you compare it to Schleich's version.

It looks like they used a shed lizard or snake skin for that body texture.

Some more pics of the exclusives and wave 2 items here! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1660215167399813.1073741849.214980405256637&type=1&l=0e3891c8ac

Uh, that "Microceratops" is Protoceratops.

Microceratus is the bipedal ceratopsid with the "Destructasaurs", not the Protoceratops.

Yeah, I was refering to the pictures in the link. This one was labeled as Microceratops when I posted that comment:

Seems like it got fixed and is now correctly labeled Protoceratops.

Still don't get how people mix it up with Protoceratops.
Probably because both are small hornless dinosaurs with beaks and frills.
Hey, if people selling figures on eBay get the name ( an also often company ) wrong, despite it being written on the figure, it's no surprise they would mix up those two.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

The Dimetrodon is bad.

But too bad it will never be released, seeing as how the Destructosaurs are...were TRU exclusives and TRU is, well, extinct.

I think the same sculptor worked on Allosaurus and Suchomimus.

JP Pteranodons are always bad, so the Roarivore Pteranodon does not excite me. The Ceratosaurus looks a lot like the cgi counterpart, but there's something off about it nonetheless. Ankylosaurus is just old fashioned Ankylosaurus in 80's dinosaur books.

This is a really beautifully sculpted toy, but I just can't get over how boring the Indoraptor is. All that lovely detail wasted on something that's basically solid black. Literally any lighter color with a couple of washes would have been so cool. Even the other dinos with simple paint schemes look more interesting than this.

I personally love that slick black appearance. Maybe it's just the contrast from the pale white look of the Indominus, and the normal brown, greens and grays of the other species. To each his own, I suppose.

95% of all my dinos start out as black anyway lol

That's almost the point. Your unfinished sculpture is black and awaiting paint. This is the Indoraptor's final design.

Its ok if other people like it :) I just wish it was more interesting. For me it feels like they're trying too hard to capture that Gigeresque "Alien" vibe a. Which is fine, I'm just not that into it.

The exclusives will likely be allocated to other places.  There was a Marvel Legends Infinity War 2 pack(Vision & Scarlet Witch) that was meant to be a TRU exclusive, but now it's available through Entertainment Earth.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

Chomping Rex (with painted scars) and Monolophosaurus
Walmart exclusive. Those painted scars look ugly and sloppy, totally ruined the figure. I still wonder why Mattel refuses to give us a new paint job for all the different rexes.

Legacy Bundle.

It's a big figure that will cost around 10.00 though if I'm not mistaken.  So lots of detail with limited paint I can fix works for me.    Yeah I noticed the "Alien" vibe from the start of the trailer, that's more of an overall design issue though.  It actually looks a lot like just a black Indominus Rex , maybe a bit more Raptor DNA than Rex though.

Most likely saving a Green Tyrannosaurus for the fall/later wave with the Spinosaurus. There's no way they/Universal wouldn't capitalize on this sculpt already more than they are trying to at the moment.

I managed to score some of the Fallen Kingdom stuff early at a Toys R Us today. Nothing special really, but I did get two of the Mini figure packs (alongside a Schleich Utahraptor). I also visited a second location which had the gryosphere launcher truck thing, but I didn't get that. I'll open them up tomorrow and get a comparison pic or two with the Hasbro minis (and the figures I got at the JW Exhibition last year). For now here's a pic of the packs (with the Schleich Utahraptor barely visible off to the side).

Wow that Battle Damage Chomping T. rex is just lazy with the red paint all over it. Kind of unnecessary really. The Legacy pack seems neat though.

The legacy bundle is nice. But isn't Mattel adding too many species in the mix? Monolophosaurus was ever in any JP media? I think they should stick to what we've seen, and we'll see, in the movies.

MLMjp

That Monolophosaurus looks nice, but it sucks that you have to buy it along the T.rex...if at least it did not had those painted wounds....

Well, maybe...Metricanthosaurus, Monolophosaurus, Proceratosaurus, Minmi, Protoceratops Herrerasaurus, Microceratus, Dimetrodon, Suchomimus and some extra genus for the minis.
IMO is is good that hey add some species that are not in the movies, but yes, some species like Monolophosaurus or Protoceratosaurus feel a little bit unnecessary, although others like Protoceratops and Minmi are welcome additions because we rarely see small herbivores in the JP universe, as for other like Metria, Sucho, Micro, Dimetro and Herrera, we have seen them in related media.
PD: Monolophosaurus is in JW the game, but still, not a very remarkable appearance.

What I think is excessive is the amount of variations. I mean, according to the app there are ELEVEN raptor variants (and that is without counting Blue), SIX Dilophosaurus, EIGHT Gallimimus and SEVEN Pteranodons. Also, how many times are going to give us the exact same Extreme ChompinĀ“ rex? There is already three, in the regular line, in the legacy line and in the battle damage line....Should I ask if there is also another one for the Destructasaurus or I should ask if there is NOT going to be one?

Do we really need that amount of color variations and different versions of a same Creature? Could have they spend their budget in...lets say...a Roarivore Parasaurolophus?
EDIT: Also lesss variants will mean less money to expend :)
