Those Mattel rexes look so good...

Does anyone have the upc code, barcode numbers, or item code for the Indoraptors, Thrash & Throw, Extreme Chompin', or the Battle Damage Chompin' rex?

People have already raided all the Targets in my area for the rexes.  :(

NEVERMIND! Found it on one of the reviews! Now have my own INDO! From my local Target.

Here's a size comparison to everyone's favorite stock-o-saur: Indo is BIG.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I'm a bit surprised at the size,  it's supposed to be roughly to scale with the other dinos, so it' about Allosaurus sized, easily capable of fighting the Rex given it's other characteristics.  Smaller than the Indominus but I certainly more dangerous.

Man, the stores near me have nothing. I gotta get a Stygimoloch.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

So far it seems there will be three different ones  and each one has  unique sculpt in some way so you will have a choice.   Given how big a "character" this one is supposed to be it should be popular.  I can't wait til the first kid comes through the park here and says " Mom! It's Stiggy! "  lol

Do you work at Universal?

ALSO, if anyone wants the UPC/barcode for the Indoraptor to check availability at Target, it is: 887-961-667-394, dashes for your convenience.
The Extreme Chomping Legacy Rexy is 887-961-563-559.

Paleodude

Not sure how y'all are able to get them so early, called 3 or 4 Targets nearby and they are all adhering to their street date for the figures.

Reptilia

About that repaint: sure the work is phenomenal but the detail was all there already, and it's just amazing how Mattel managed to bring pretty much the exact desing by Stan Winston studio right into a mass produced toy. Kenner and Hasbro didn't even get close.

Discretely. Here's what I did: Called the target and asked if they had an item in stock. When they asked for the item, I just gave them the UPC and mentioned nothing about the official release date/the fact that they weren't on the floor yet.

And today, just picked up the EXTREME CHOMPIN'. SURPRISE. It's the same price as the Indoraptor, coming in at $19.99!

Faelrin

I checked the Wal-Mart I went too today and nothing. Gotta wait till next week. Was planning on checking the Toys R Us again after my appointment tomorrow, but due to crappy circumstances, family is a bit broke unexpectedly, so I guess I will have to wait for the street date/next week for this stuff. Hoping on picking up the Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Mosasaurus, Indoraptor, and maybe the Thrash and Throw (or Extreme Chomping) T. rex, and maybe the Battle Damage Blue and Stiggy toys for next week. Anything else from Wave 1 that I want and have space for (including the Legacy stuff), I'll probably try to get in the coming weeks. Though I'll probably have to get another storage bin shelf thing to display my Beasts of the Mesozoic stuff on, just to have space for a good bit of this line (if I do have the money to collect 1+ of each species toy from this franchise, in this line).

@mgaguilar Good haul there. Thanks for sharing the price for the Extreme Chomping T. rex. Nice to see it is half the price of the Thrash and Throw. Even though the feet are definitely bigger proportionally on this T. rex, compared with the Thrash and Throw, and the fact it is a little smaller, it is good to have a cheaper alternative.

Aside from different sizes, removable parts and/or action features, are the T-rexes the same sculpt? Or is at least one of T-rexes posed somewhat differently (e.g. squatting)?

mgaguilar

Size comparison. Looks like the Indoraptor could actually possibly take on Rexy if Mattel's scale is on point.
@Faelrin, I'm sorry to hear about that. Do you have a Target in the area? They've been much more friendly at looking up UPC's on specific items for me in the past.
And thank you! I'm extremely excited and haven't really put them down. I agree that the price point is great. It allows people and kids who can't afford the TT and Colossal to have a Rex of their own.

@tanystropheus This is just for you. <3

EDIT: And just to show Mattel did an awesome job on the decision of their sculptor: Tyrannosaurus Texture Porn

ITdactyl

Thanks for sharing those shots.
A little wash, some shadows and highlights... [relatively] easy to make a masterpiece out of these new sculpts.

this statement might stir up debate, but THIS is why people don't ask for scientifically accurate dinosaur toys... if the fantasy is easily satisfied with these awesome JP toys, why bother with something less entertaining?  Rexy will be the public's version of a tyrannosaurus for a few more years.

Begs the question: If scientifically accurate, well sculpted action figures of dinosaurs not tied to the JP franchise were made, would they sell as well as this current series?

To go back on topic, I'm just jealous you guys already have access to those toys.  They haven't reached out shores yet.

Faelrin

@mgaguilar I do have a Target in my area (two in fact) but I'm (literally) broke this week otherwise I'd totally try giving those codes a go.

It is really interesting seeing how those two (Extreme Chomping and Indoraptor) size up too. Even if the Thrash and Throw is more to scale with most of the toys in this lineup, the Extreme Chomping T. rex is not that much smaller then the Thrash and Throw T. rex, and could probably pass as a sub adult, and that makes me wonder if the Indoraptor could hold its own against the T. rex (assuming the scale of the toy is correct. The Indoraptor seemed to be about double the size of Blue in the second trailer though), but it's probably safe they don't rehash last film's end fight. Kids no doubt will be having a go at it with these toys though. Heck I'll probably have my future Carnotaurus (and even my Beasts of the Mesozoic raptors) posed against it at some point.

I think T-rex always sells regardless if it is a Vasta or a JP or whether it looks like an over glorified black and white puffin.

Thanks mgaguilar for the dcpi numbers. The target near me had 4 of these, and I was legitimately super happy when they said they had some in the back.
