BrontoScorpio

Saw it on eBay and snatched it.
I don't think it was that rare at that time.
And it is actually a kind of dark/gray Green - when it is dust free ...
Apparently I bought it from This UK seller , Almost 9 years ago ...
( It's a good thing PDF files store the URLs )

BrontoScorpio

My next new old kit comes still with its original seal :

Flipped it all over - but still could not find any reference for its source -

But despite all that - I got my first clue with the 2nd kit that came along -
Kaiyodo Deinonychus by Shinichi Yamashita (  山下信一 ) which I already have.
Just a final shot - before the seal is opened forever ...

Out of the bag - It looks like a large Theropod Dinosaur :
A 2nd clue was an interesting remark by the seller - concerning the two kits :
"This was a gift from Osamu and Shuichi Miyawaki when they visited Chris Walas Inc. during the early 90's."
Osamu Miyawaki  (宮脇 修 ) was the founder of Kaiyodo ( 海洋堂 )
while his son Shuichi Miyawaki ( 宮脇修一 )  nickname Senmu  ( センム ) is currently the Director and President of Kaiyodo

The under belly has over grown canals or cracks -

Whereas the backside has 3 rows of wrinkles as those of a crocodile - typical to the way it was done in old kits -

The 2 jaws from up close - have an unusually large teeth which untypically are part of the mold -

Halfway through work - with my chipping , sawing, cutting sanding and glueing tools :

I should add it stands much more balanced on its legs this way - before I apply on its neck the big forward leaning head :

BrontoScorpio

Done and finished at last -

Finally on its chicken like legs - my 'Cartoonish' looking Rex ...

I needed to put some support under two fingers - to raise the head above balance point -

Is it me - or it really smiles back in defiance -

BrontoScorpio

Yes, I think it does smile ...

Running about on the floor like a big  fledgling

Seriously, although it fits a general common looking of a 'Cartoonish' character I may have seen before -
I couldn't find any exact reference for this specific model kit :

But the overall appearance, the scaly skin, curled tail and general posture - along withd the earlier remark by the seller -
suggest it would be one of the earliest models of the Kaiyodo mid 80's model kits.
Probably by one of their early modelers
Takeshi Shirai ( 白井武志 ) Eito Hara ( 原 詠人 ) Shinichi Yamashita ( 山下伸一 ) or Kazunari Araki ( 荒木一成 )

As they brought it to the US - it could be a tribute to old times T-rexes -
Like the Sinclair 1933 Chicago World's Fair -

Here it is - with 2 other vintage Theropods of the Kaiyodo set -  T-rex & Allosaurus by Eito Hara ( 原 詠人 ) -

I can only guess this is another one of Eito Hara's works - but I wonder if someone can help me make a definitive identification  :

I think I spot there at the corner an unused space volume  :

And there it stands - on its new perching stand -

BrontoScorpio

So, I think it's about time, after all these new finds,
to bring forward the renovated new look of my Resin kits Cabinet :

Shelf A :

Shelf B :

Shelves C & D :

Shelves E & F :

Shelf G :

Shelves H & I :

Totoro

Every time I add just another item or changes one thing.
It could be a nice quiz for Saturday mornings' paper  :

BrontoScorpio

You nailed it even better than I would have postsaurischian.
I can say You've secured a ticket to the prize lottery.

...

Torvosaurus

Those last two look like Crystal Palace dinosaurs from Antediluvian Miniatures. Do you plan on getting the rest?

This type of organization and also the content of your collection is just to my taste! I especially like its  versatility!

BrontoScorpio

Thanks.
I try to combine in every single shelf figures of the same line/company or of similar attributes.
Years ago I found that just piling different sorts of figures next to each other, on the same shelf, creates a visual mess -
and makes you grow tired of the display after a short while.

That's absolutely staggering avatar_BrontoScorpio @BrontoScorpio ! No doubt Rome wasn't built in a day.
