Incredible! Really happy to see the dilophosaurus finally return to the big screen. Alan and Ellie at the digsite felt faithful to the original films.

Also the North American environment is a welcome change of scenery from the usual exotic jungle. Dinosaurs and cowboys are a fun combination, too.

The only thing I'm somewhat disappointed in is the dinosaur designs. It would have been great to see the original style Jurassic Park velociraptors running amok in Malta instead of the atrocious design used in the film.
Well they're Atrociraptors after so they would be atrocious.

Also wow glad to see the spitter back in all its terrifying glory. Glad they heard the fans on that. Also pleasantly surprised by the plumage and wings on that Pyroraptor, even if has wrist wings essentially, which I kind of suspected based on the package renders I saw on some products. A shame the toys probably won't reflect that, as in having the wings. Also glad the Therizinosaurus has a beak after all. No sign of Lystrosaurus and the rumored Dimetrodon but that's okay. Got most of the species in one trailer anyways. Kind of enough for now. Also feels so good to see Ellie and Grant again!

Also got Valley of Gwangi vibes from the Parasaurolophus scene.

Im on the Fence if I will See this or not. Given the Mess up that is the Prolouge.

Once the film drops i will be asking if anything from that mistake of a short film is in the movie.
Same honestly, and if anything I am a little more skeptical now on the story and addition of new dinosaurs/prehistoric animals.

The trailer is awesome and looks great don't get me wrong, but if you think about it, it seems like this movie is going to be fast pace, which could be a disaster/mess. Again, I'll wait till its actually out before a conclusion comes to my mind.

BlueKrono

I'm just happy to see actual dinosaurs instead of blenderized movie monster mutts. We've had enough of that.

"Uh, now eventually you do plan to have dinosaurs on your... on your dinosaur tour, right? Hello?
We are accustomed to look upon the shackled form of a conquered monster, but there - there you could look at a thing monstrous and free." - King Kong, 2005

suspsy

I don't put any faith whatsoever in trailers with regard to the quality of a movie. All the Transformers trailers were exciting to watch, but with the exception of the Bumblebee spin-off/reboot, the movies themselves turned out to be godawful. The same goes for Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom. I made the mistake of paying to see the first one in a theatre and then made another mistake in renting the second one. I'm not aiming for strike three. I'll read the summary on Wikipedia when it becomes available and then perhaps I'll stream it on Netflix if/when it becomes available.

My oppinion exactly. The designs are a big step in the right directions while still feeling "Jurassic-Parky". I especially like the Pyroraptor, Quetzalcoatlus an Therizinosaurus, the Atrociraptors looks REALLY bland and generic though and Blues chick looks more like a shrunken adult instead of an actuall juvenile.

However, there were so many different locations, creatures and setting that I worry as well, kinda looks like a "we have 10 different ideas and want to shove them all into one movie". I will wait until the movie drops and reviews are avaiable until I decide wether to watch it or not.

I'm stoked. Original cast, the return of Dilophosaurus, a diversity of dinosaurs and locations, it's all very exciting. That said, I enjoyed both Jurassic World films substantially more than the Jurassic Park sequels so...yeah. If you didn't like the first two Jurassic World films then I think it's safe to say you won't like this one either.

The dinosaur designs look fantastic, inaccuracies aside, a breath of fresh air compared to what we saw in Jurassic World. And finally, feathers. Not perfect, but a huge step forward and really no worse than most documentaries and educational kid's shows.

My main concern is that the movie still looks bloated. I'm not sure how all of these action sequences piece together. It looks to be a globe-trotting movie for sure which should be fun. Kind of gives me World War Z vibes in that way.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Blue's baby. Parthenogenesis avatar_Prehistory Resurrection @Prehistory Resurrection.

I wont lie.

I had an orgasm, I spitted a stupid laugh of happiness and got my eyes wet the second time I watched it.

Colin Trevorrow. I wont forgive you if this sucks.

So much to talk about!
Blue´s baby is actually real.
Dilophosaurus! And its an animatronic!
CGI looks fantastic for the most part. Feathers look a bit weird though...
Speaking of feathers, Therizinosaurus and Pyroraptor!
Gone is the blue filter of the previous one! Look at the color grading now!
Grant & Sattler, despite knowing they are in the film, it was great to see them.

What I didn't not like? The Atrociraptor chase through the roofs. That's kinda....eh.

I will get into details in another post, I don't have the time right now.

Takama

Wow Pyroraptor is shown

Now can A @Andysdinosaurreviews have his chanel back Universal :)

PrimevalRaptor

Still don't feel the Atrociraptors too much, if you bring in another dromaeosaur, at least make them more distinct.
On the other hand though...absolutely love the Pyroraptor and Quetzalcoatlus (the latter especially, I would lie if I said seeing it tackle a plane didn't make my inner child very happy) even if I'll hold on for clearer shots on the feathers. It's a nice big step for the franchise and I'm looking forward to the toys this should spawn.
Also hoping to see more of the Therizinosaurus soon too, even if stuff like the head seems a bit big.
Movie definitely seems like it'll have a LOT of stuff happening, gonna be...interesting to say the least.

Carnoking

"We not only lack dominion over nature, we're subordinate to it"
That line hit so hard.

Also, Carnotaurus in Malta!
Baby Blue learning to hunt!
Valley of Gwangi vibes!
Dilophosaurus!
Feathers!
Ahhhhhhhhh!!!

Brontozaurus

This looks violently stupid. I will be in the theatre on opening night.

The Quetzalcoatlus attacking the plane gave me Rodan vibes in a good way

The Pyroraptor looks really good.  Just looks like they could've gone for some fuzz on the fingers, actually extended the wings from the fingers, and feathered the belly and this would've been near perfection and still would've been fine as a JP/JW animal.  I sure hope that it isn't an antagonistic animal through and through.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

Quote from: dinotoyforum on February 10, 2022, 02:20:56 PMTrailer just dropped:

Just a few questions/comments:
-I'm glad there doesn't seem to be a blue filter like in JW & JWFK (which is probably partly why it doesn't look too bad).
-I would've liked it better if they didn't combine 2 very different Hammond speeches (I.e. "Creation is an act of sheer will" & "Life will find a way"). Maybe it'll make sense in the movie, but as is, not so much.
-It already looked silly w/just Blue (I.e. A relatively small yet naked endotherm) running around in a snowy environment, even more so now that she has an even smaller yet still naked baby.
-When Sattler visits Grant, what species is that background skeleton from? I was originally thinking some kind of basal theropod bc of its overall shape & 4-fingered hands, but the skull looks more ornithischian (I.e. Beaked w/no antorbital fenestrae).
-Is it just me, or does Wu's new hair do make him look like Richard Dawkins? If that's the intention, it's very fitting.
-It's too bad they made the Pyroraptor's head so needlessly ugly, especially compared to the early concept art:

Exactly my take. Extremely hyped

Fembrogon

Well, I'm still skeptical, but I admit that seeing a Quetzalcoatlus attack a plane was a little bit exciting. Seeing Pyro and Dilo were also treats.

Oh, good catch! That's definitely something that bothered me with the prior films (and in other movies when I notice it). If they've dropped that effect that will definitely be a plus for the visuals.

Pretty sure that the Hammond speeches won't feature in the movie at all.  That's very much a trailer thing.

Also, isn't that a fan interpretation of what someone described the Pyroraptor kind of looking like?  Because I'm reasonably sure that that isn't official concept art.

avatar_Shadowknight1 @Shadowknight1 Yep that was fan made a while back.

I also stumbled upon another leak that seems to line up with stuff from the trailer better then the previous one I was aware about, but as always grain of salt. Plot seems interesting I guess if it is right though, and not anything I would have expected, for better or worse.

Also anyone get CC S4 vibes from the big dome thing in the trailer? Aside from a certain dinosaur in it and the trailer.

Edit: Saw this screencap on reddit. Looks like the JW Parasaurolophus design is returning alongside the new one:
