triceratops83

Have these been easier and cheaper to get a hold of now they've been reissued?
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

They were for me, or at least the Tyrannosaurus was. I still don't have the Triceratops. I was able to get the T. rex on eBay for $50 I believe? With free shipping. Not sure if that is a great price but just the fact that I was able to get it at all (and not from a Japanese site) made me happy.

I got the orange Triceratops for about $50 a while back. Ok then so that seems to be standard price.

Great to see you back Marc! If you think that thread is bad have a gander at the one in which they announced the Yutyrannus...  :-X

Great review! Did you try it out with other dinosaur figures under its foot?

Haha, I haven't tried that yet, no. Not sure I have too many appropriate figures for the job (hey, Collecta - how about a larger-scale Triceratops carcass? ;)).

I've had a look around and my review seems to be reflecting the consensus here, which is a happy coincidence. (Yay, no reams of angry comments!) I've noticed some people saying that it doesn't look like a Papo, when...come on now, it totally does. Like I said, a "Papo on steroids".

Juvenile T. Rex from CollectA. The cutest thing that can disembowel you:

Now that's a coincidence. I just got mine today :)

Both last posts about the different views of the T-Rex are excellent and well spoken.
There is a steroid movie-class with a heavy marketing and a naturalistic way of interpretation. CollectA can't praised enough for their fantastic work.
And thank both authors for this well tempered reviews. Always a pure pleasure and great benefit.

Thank you. The timing of the back-to-back T. rex reviews is purely coincidental, but it certainly is an interesting juxtaposition. Personally, I'm quite tired of the image of the bloodthirsty, rampaging killing machine. I see T. rex the same way as I do an African lion, a great white shark, a golden eagle, or a polar bear: immensely powerful and deadly, but a living, breathing, complex, and beautiful animal.

Great review Suspy! I enjoyed the opening part in which you describe the scenery! Puts one in the right mood. Quite a contrast between Papo baby and CollectA.

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks! And yes, the contrast between those two figures is something. It's science confronting stereotype.
