Quote from: DefinitelyNOTDilo on December 09, 2024, 01:13:32 AMThe full sauropod collection, it's growing nicely, and I look forward to even more additions.

Absolutely worth the insane price tag!

This has the double effect of making me impressed by the glass on the table that's supporting all of these!  :o
That many big sauropods cannot be lightweight lol.

Awesome collection shot though, really shows a good deal of sauropodomorph diversity.

Oh man...I guess I have to order one of that big bro....

I'm glad you reminded me it's not just the Argentinosaurus I should be excited about avatar_DefinitelyNOTDilo @DefinitelyNOTDilo!

EmperorDinobot

Which reminds me, I am still missing some Safari ceratopsians. I would be happy if SOMEONE did an Anchiceratops and an Arrhinoceratops for once.

Copied from the Haolonggood 2024 thread page 135, purple Argentinosaurus figure.

Gray day here so colors are less vibrant then in hand, but should give a sense of this model. This is the special purple version. That said, photos with a phone camera does not do it justice regarding the detail, anatomy with heft and weight Haolonggood has managed to sculpt into this figure.

I remember seeing patagotitan's bones at the museum and was surprised seeing just how wide the skeleton was, especially at the hips and this figure does such points of the anatomy justice - the large titanosaurs where "wide load" in a sense I do not think people realize until they see a accurate model like this or skeleton for themselves, very different from say diplodocus and giraffatitan two much more famous and more slender animals ingrained in pop culture.

My two recent acquisitions are the following:

1. CollectA Torvosaurus.  I disliked this figure at first, later I thought I could remove its base and I started to enjoy it.  I tried pulling its feet from its base as I've been able to do that easily with Papo's flamingo and heron.  However, the Torvosaurus was much harder to remove.  I got one foot off the base.  And then the other, although only half of it, the rest separated from the figure and stayed attached to the base. :-\   So this is one figure that hasn't made it into my collection, to put it mildly.  Another company really needs to make a good Torvosaurus figure.

2. Haolonggood Dilophosaurus.  I went off Papo's Dilophosaurus not long after acquiring it.  The pose and length of its tail are off-putting to me and being from a later batch no doubt, its paintjob isn't as good as an original release's.  Plus the head shape is an outdated reconstruction and that too started bothering me.  So, no longer satisfied with the Papo Dilophosaurus, I looked at the Safari 2020 Dilophosaurus again, but its head shape is too outdated too.  It would be great if Safari could retool it to have a more accurate head.  But, I don't think that's likely.  So the only decent Dilophosaurus left were Haolonggood's.  I started missing not having the Haolonggood, so I ordered them again and I am satisfied with the Haolonggood now.  I'm very happy to have the Haolonggood Dilophosaurus again!  I actually bought two sets since I noticed they are prone to a poor paintjob on the teeth in reviews and I wanted to maximise the chance of getting one with a good paintjob.  The set I'm not keeping will go into my sale thread!

Concavenator

Congrats everyone! That Argentinosaurus sure is a sight to behold! But I think it's the Huayangosaurus the one that's the real highlight.  ;)

avatar_Sim @Sim We have yet to see an accurate static Dilophosaurus figure (the BotM is fantastic), but HLG's is clearly superior to Papo's.

I also wish someone would make a good new Torvosaurus figure. It would also fit in nicely with other figures of Morrison Formation taxa.

In an hypothetical scenario where Dinosaur Empire made a PVC, baseless version of their Torvosaurus figure, would you get it?

My sandy Majungasaurus from Haolonggood arrived today.  Very quick turnaround.  The light today is atrocious!  It (currently!) stands very firmly.  I'm very taken with the low-slung stance, which I think makes it look especially lethal and intimidating.

I actually really love that color scheme. Different from any therapod I have. It looks like it would fit in perfectly in Madagascar. Glad to hear is stands for now! I'd be surprised if it stays like that.

Now that I've had both the Haolonggood and Papo Dilophosaurus, I can say the Haolonggood is definitely the better one of the two.  I'm actually satisfied by Haolonggood's Dilophosaurus now, but I'm open to one from PNSO or a better one from Safari.

I wouldn't get it unless they made it look more like the Elvis Torvosaurus specimen.  I agree a good Torvosaurus tanneri would complement other Morrison Formation species.

here's my haul for last few months  :)

i live and work abroad and order figures to my parents home in Kazakhstan, that's why it piles up :D

CityRaptor

That Argentinosaurus is huge!

A bit of a Jurassic haul....

The cap is much higher quality than my vintage one.
The Sinoceratops is from the Kinderjoy Funko Jurassic World line. It's officially not considered a figure but some sort of decoration for cables...despite totally being a figure. I would say that the small size and the fact that ceratopsians already have big noggins works out for it.
Lego Bumpy is kinda obvious....
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Good news for those still looking for the PNSO Nemicolopterus! This ebay listing has plenty of stock for everyone.

Just got mines in the mail the other day. Happy to finally add this little pterosaur to my collection at a reasonable price.

Quiet hard to resist the Argentino
