Pachyrhinosaurus

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Target must be getting ready for holiday toy sales. I was at that first Target on the brachiosaurus' street date and all five were sold by the time I got there. I bought mine at the Lititz Target Friday. I didn't think there'd be this many on the shelves. Mattel definitely learned from the spinosaurus situation. Still no sign of the gray triceratops, though.

avatar_Pachyrhinosaurus @Pachyrhinosaurus I'm glad you were able to find one. Good to know they got them at that Target too. The one I found the new figures at was at the Highpoint Target. The Jones Town road one had more of the Brachiosaruus in stock though.

I do think they are stocking up as the holiday season is drawing near, which is good as it does seem to show they did learn from the Spinosaurus situation.

I got my grey Triceratops from Amazon a while back, when they had it in stock here. It does seem like Amazon UK has it in stock though, but it would mean paying more for it of course. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HR8S52J/ref=twister_B07WNS83MX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I saw that it was available on Macy's website too (in stock), and seems to be on sale as well: https://www.macys.com/shop/product/jurassic-world-dual-attack-triceratops-dinosaur-toy?ID=9888141&CategoryID=22672

I haven't posted acquisitions in a long while, a lot of that probably because things have been appearing one by one for the past months so I didn't really have that push to get back into the habit.

This story actually starts with another toy. A few weeks ago I tried to order this* whopping 69cm Dilophosaurus. Sadly the factory apparently cancelled the entire run due to production quality concerns. The seller was incredibly helpful in figuring everything out and when everything was found out they were even kind enough to offer a discount. I decided to pick out a few toys of roughly equal total cost, and settled on these two terror birds of unknown origin and two bootlegs of the Safari Eastern Screech owl.

A few weeks later and today I found a package, strangely labeled from Germany and not China. Not knowing anyone personally from Germany and certainly not expecting anything from there, I was honestly kind of scared to open it but was delighted and relieved to be greeted by a little owl face. Does anyone know if this is something that Ebay does? Something like the distribution centers they use in North America?

I'm quite a fan of the original owl, and have always thought about getting some extras to customize (perhaps into saw whet owls). But being recently retired it already fetches a relatively high sum so I've been putting off getting a few extras for a while now. There wasn't anything else in the price range that I really wanted from the seller so I decided I might as well see how these ones held up and I'm quite glad I did. I think they will fit the role well.

I don't know anything about where these terror birds come from other than that the factory that made them apparently has no plans to make more runs in the future. They have hard plastic legs and soft plastic for the rest of the body, which works surprisingly well and they are quite sturdy.

These Chinese bootlegs are frustrating. On one hand they are bootlegs...on the other, they are often much better painted than the Safari originals!!! I have been to a couple aquariums in the last couple years here in the US, and you are seeing more and more of these Chinese bootlegs of the aquatic Incredible Creatures figures. I wonder sometimes if the aquariums know they are selling figures that could be potentially hurting US-based Safari LTD?!?

avatar_stargatedalek @stargatedalek Those terror birds are from a line called "Wildlife Wow" which I believe was branded under national geographic and a line called "Discover with Dr. Cool".

I did recognize them from that line, but this factory I've been told was manufacturing these since the early 2000's (still not sure if they were the original though). Nat Geo licensing and in particular the "Dr. Cool" line is comprised heavily of bootleg products.

I got back from the Jurassic World Live show a bit ago. I definitely did pick up some merchandise. I'll have a new thread made tomorrow with pics of the rest of the merch that was there that I didn't get (including prices). Edit: Thread is up and here for anyone wanting to take a look:

I'm going back again Sunday to get a few more things (such as the plushie of Jeanie, the Troodon). I certainly also enjoyed my time at the show.

Also worth mentioning is that the figures here (and plushie) are large, and also made of a squishy material (not sure if it's rubber or vinyl, if not something else). The rex is nearly the same size of the Safari Ltd one. I'll have to grab a size comparison tomorrow of it.

AcroSauroTaurus

JW Battle Damage Spinosaurus.(I literally only got it just to repaint it, as I don't like the paintjob at all.)

JW Savage Strike Plesiosaurus.

JW Primal Attack Ornitholestes(I call it a Coelophysis) and Callovosaurus.
I am the Dinosaur King!

Fembrogon

I managed to snag a JW Brachiosaurus at one of my local Targets today - an unexpected but extremely pleasant surprise! I was sure I'd missed the bus for this one.

I'm not in a position to be collecting a lot right now, but I couldn't resist grabbing this even if I'm not quite sure where I'll keep it.  :))

I now have the Schleich Tawa and the Psittacosaurus are in hand! So glad I didn't miss out! The Psittacosaurus is phenomenal! Why are they retiring it? It is amazingly detailed and colored. The Tawa is kinda cool too.

If I had to take one figure to a godforsaken island, it would be this one ... nice addition!

avatar_Mellow Stego @Mellow Stego Nice acquisition The dimorphodon of Rebor is by far his prettiest figure to date of pterosaur by Collecta.

Concavenator

avatar_Mellow Stego @Mellow Stego great acquisition, the CollectA Dimorphodon is very good! There might be another pterosaur from CollectA coming up tomorrow  >:D

You can even beat the Dimorphodon Supreme Deluxe, tomorrow is a day of surprises by Collecta. There are few hours left to know that new figure of pterosaur and invertebrates, apart from the repainted diplodocus, will surprise us. The final brooch is famous in Collecta for being sublime.  :P

Mellow Stego

Yeah I was completely shocked at how nice that Dimorphodon looked. Quickly became one of my favorite figures!

Bokisaurus

Nice catches everyone :))

For me, well I got this figure last week, but now just able to take photo of it.
Eofana's Atlasaurus, what an amazing figure and truly odd looking as well. I love the colors, somehow it worked.
I plan on reviewing this figure hopefully before the year ends, but it all depends of how busy I get, so I will post only a few pics of it here and on my collection thread, I will save the majority for my review.
Cheers!
