Shonisaurus

In my case I would prefer an abelisaurus, rajasaurus or majungasaurus. I prefer obscure species by Eofauna.

In regard to other dinosaurs sincerely I prefer a gigantoraptor or a deinocheirus (although we have the other companies and they are great) would like a deinocheirus made by the company Eofauna.

Honestly I like tyrannosaurus rex or spinosaurus but I prefer that Eofauna makes species as I have said previously unpublished or rare in the market of the collection and toy dinosaur. Although I believe that Eofauna is a company dedicated to practically those of us who are collectors and that it is a scientific company, which I welcome.

My giganotosaurus from Eofauna I hope to receive it at the end of next week, mine is on the way in urzeitshop.

Fembrogon

I admit, I'd probably buy a Spino or rex from Eofauna if they made one, but I'd still much rather see genera that haven't been as extensively covered in the toy market. Honestly, if their next figure is a dinosaur, I'm hoping for an herbivore of some kind.

My Giga from ED is purchased! I look forward to when it arrives.

I really like their three offerings so far, the only thing that concerns me is that they bring out mainly Chinese dinosaurs that I do not know and have trouble pronouncing lol.
I would sooner have a statue with no moving parts and made all of one piece, in a fantastic pose, than former as these quite often detract from the model and dont look realistic sometimes, and stick out, but the opening jaw on the Gigant looks very well done.
Sorry its Vitae I was thinking about that do all Chinese Dinos not Eo.

Hmm I am torn between Rebor and Eofauna, I have not bought anything yet because I am waiting to see what different makers release, what can anyone tell me about Eofauna, are they a new company, are they doing well (dont want to collect a line that suddenly goes bust), so far I like all of Eofauna's releases but only about half of Rebors, price is no object within reason, does anyone have both the Giganotosaurus and a Rebor Theropod to give me an unbiased opinion on the pros and cons of either, sorry for going off topic shove this elsewhere if there is a section for this  ;)

avatar_BRONSON @BRONSON Eofauna make a lot of museum replicas of dinosaurs and other prehistoric life, and also make exquisite high-end statues of both extant and extinct mammalian fauna, and seem to have been doing so for some time. They also produced a dinosaur encyclopedia which is due to be released in English in May (Got that one pre ordered, too!!). There are at least two individuals with palaeontological backgrounds directly involved in the production of their models. Their journey into plastic prehistorica is fairly recent, and they actually collaborated with Rebor on the limited edition "Bony Bonny" Lourinhanosaurus skeleton replica in an egg. Rebor are a fairly recent but prolific company; they seem to be mostly inspired by pop culture but produce intricate and beautifully crafted figures. Their scientific perspective is somewhat lacking, but there's no denying the class in what they produce and it seems to have provided some inspiration for the rising Chinese companies in the presentation and quality of their figures. They are planning to produce a budget line of hollow vinyl figures which are more scientifically correct and appear to be beautifully detailed. There is often something of a wait between the production of the prototypes and the release of the figures. I hope this helps! I will shortly receive the Eofauna Giganotosaurus; I will produce an unboxing and comparison video, and will include some Rebor figures as a comparison ^-^

Rebor is more texturised, more scaly and rough. Hard to the touch, heavy. Essentially a statue. Except for the bendy tails on the bee ones which are still hard to bend, paint jobs are better

Eofauna is smoother, more plastic than rebor.

Thankyou both of you, just the kind of stuff I want to hear, yeah I have been looking for an 'adult' book on dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures, a big well illustrated book, I may wait a little longer before choosing which manufacturer I go with and see what gets brought out.
One last question, do the Eofaunas come boxed do you know ?

avatar_BRONSON @BRONSON they aren't boxed, but they do come with a collector's card, which is a very nice touch ^-^

If it's dinosaur books you're after, there's none better than Dinosaurs: How They Lived and Evolved by Naish and Barrett. We actually have a thread all about book recommendations!

I wouldn't limit myself to just one. Papo and Eofauna are worth taking a look as well as W Dragon and alot of resin kits. You can always check the models and resin kits section of the forum to find any sales from other members here as well

I have to limit myself really as I have too many hobbys (and too much stuff lol ), I have a WW2 military weapon museum that takes up lots of space (and money) a collection of dinosaur and prehistoric animal fossil teeth, lots of photographic equipment for work, and I am a pm stacker so need a big space taking up safe for that.

Ahh yes I just had a quick look on youtube I like both Rebor, and Eofauna from what I seen so far, those W Dragon are superb but not available in the UK, and dont want the hassle of ordering from abroad,I will have to try and get to a place that sells them in the flesh so I can make my mind up.

Halichoeres

Given that EoFauna is only turning out a figure roughly once every 6-7 months, I would be really disappointed if one of those slots were a Tyrannosaurus. It's almost the only Mesozoic animal they could possibly choose that I wouldn't buy.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

My attempt to find the best toy of every species

My trade/sale/wishlist thread

Sometimes I draw pictures

Flaffy

I would really like to see how Eofauna tackles a Amebelodontid or Gomphotheriid.

To EoFauna, while I get the want for variety and new species,I hope you do not take too much stock in the suggestion on this forum that no one will buy a model of T.rex itself because of supposed fatigue of the more common species...
No real collector would ever say they don't want to see something get made.

suspsy

I'd buy an Eofauna T. rex the instant it became available. So would a great many other people here.

I've got 63 T. rex in my collection (pvc, resin, vinyl, tiny, medium, large, extra-large, statues, toys, action-figures, feathered or scaly, vintage or accurate, etc etc...).
And I can count (at least) more than 100 others on the market..
I'm quite bored by T.
It's the most overproduced species at all.
I really hope Eofauna will go for something different in the future....  ::)

I would be happy to see any number of other prehistoric species, but no matter how many T. rex models are out there,it is still a species that is in need of an update in light of the recent tyrannosaur studies involving Daspletosaurus horneri and tyrannosaurid skin impressions.
