Looks very nice, I'm sure it will be one of the top scale model Mosasaurs next to the newest Safari and Collecta versions.

Man I wish most Favorite figures weren't so expensive and hard to acquire outside of Japan. The low availability of the Baryonyx and Neovenator sadden me, as do those awesome boxed sets from a few years back.

Sorry, end rant.

Flaffy

Nice mosasaur, but I really hope they'll make a Phosphorosaurus someday...
After all it's a Japanese species.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

Mosasaurus is not animal that interests me that much, but neither is T. rex and I've still got several. If this is accurate and not really hard to get I may be tempted.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Always interested in new marine reptile figures and I am a Favorite fan, as it were. Just hope it is a regular release and a little easier to get hold of than the last couple of (special / limited) releases! We have not had any new marine reptiles in a while (Don't get me started on the ultimately frustrating experience of that damned Mattel Mosasaur!!)

Shonisaurus

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy I sincerely hope that it is the Japanese species that you point out or another obscure marine animal of the mosasaurus family, independently that I do not care that it was the prehistoric reptile mentioned.

Brett knows where he will have a secure buyer. Hurray for Favorite!

It may comfort you to know that they don't post prototype photos for the museum exclusives. I think you can count on this one being a wide release, probably $10 or $20.

Oh lovely, I had hoped Favorite would do more marine reptiles. Looks very intriguing. ;)

Are Mattel Mosa's rare? The TRU here always seems to have a half dozen or so. Always willing to pick some up but shipping from Canada would be killer.

To my knowledge the big Mosasaur never made it over to the shelves here in Australia (and neither did the majority of the later wave releases). The thing was always going to be expensive given the size of it and with the lack of distribution here any shipping cost on top to bring it in from elsewhere just makes the whole thing too prohibitive as far as I'm concerned.

So that's one that won't be in my collection - on the plus side I don't have to find more than the usual amount of space to display such a monster. Some you win... (thanks for the offer though)

Nor did most of Asia  :'(

I would rather see a Phosphorosaurus myself; aside from Mosasaurus and Tylosaurus, no other mosasauroid ever gets made except as a miniature. Maybe Vitae will change that.

Provided the remains are reasonably conserved I would also prefer figures not only of marine reptiles but of other obscure prehistoric animals in the toy market and in the resin figures.

Honestly I am satisfied with any prehistoric animal but I understand that if they made obscure figures I would be more incentive as a collector.

Vitae has the potential to make figures of dinosaurs and other rare prehistoric animals in the toy market but honestly I would like them to go to a larger size.

To me the Mosasaur looks like a Hirokazu Tokugawa sculpt for the Prehistoric Life Softmodel series ^-^ .

Daspletodave

This Mosasaur looks great! But then everything Favorite does is outstanding. I hope this is the start of annual additions to the soft model line-up.

I believe you're right! They didn't specify, but they do say there will be both a "soft model" and a vinyl model. It'll be a good companion to the Archelon.

When will the photographs be revealed? I would like to see the vinyl and PVC mosaurus or Soft Model.

They made a kind of great plesiosaurus in their day. I'm dying to see his mosaurus in a clear photo with no dark background. The positive of Favorite is that the prototypes are identical in quality to the physical figures they commercialize.

It's the good thing about Favorite.

SBell

Where did they reveal these photos? Because of course I'm mainly interested in additions to the Ancient Fishes line!

And maybe some Ancient Prehistoric Fishes...that would be great too!

It would be interesting a sturgeon, lamprey and sawfish among the new figures of fish "Ancient fish".

I bought the seven figures of Favorite and each of them is faithfully sculpted according to the real fish. They are very nice and very decorative figures.

It was on their Facebook page. I'm trying to avoid FB because it's horrible and poisonous, but it does seem to be the most convenient way to get news about companies' new offerings. Haven't seen anything from the oh-so-misnamed Ancient Fishes line, but the gar and arowana were released quite recently.
