Tianzhenosaurus, just now announced by Haolonggood!

Picture: https://imgbb.com/pjQxKmr

Thanks!

Roselaar

Thanks, all!
Added Dorygnathus, Harpactognathus and Tianzhenosaurus to the list.

Halichoeres

Weeeell, the Harpactognathus is a bit unofficial. I don't think 20th Century Fox has ever specified that it was intended as that genus, but its unique combination of head crest, teeth, and long, vaned tail suggest that genus more than any other. The toy itself is just labeled "pterodactyl." So your call on that one but I think historically you have excluded figures in similar situations. Sorry for the late reply here.

Ah, true. That disqualifies it I guess. Most characters in Ice Age are dubious representations of actual prehistoric animals anyway.

Roselaar

Are there any other figures of Maip aside from the new Kaiyodo figure?

Halichoeres

Robert Fabiani offers a 3d printed one, but as far as I know that's it.

So would you say that's widely commercially available? I am often confused about adding 3D-printed figures to the list, they're not like a "real" brand as I had in mind when I created the USL. I nixed Shapeways figures for that reason.

I don't know about widely. I have seen a couple of people who bought, printed, and painted it, but I think it's one of those where you have to contact the artist directly to get the files and then find someplace to print it (an online service like Shapeways, or your local maker space).

Ah yeah, that discounts it then in my eyes.

Adding Maip now. :)
Also deleting Gigantspinosaurus.

Eoraptor has a figure from Mattel coming out in 2024, so can be removed.

Bajadasaurus can be removed as both Schleich (2024) and Yamasan (2023) have created figures of it.

Do these need to be added?

-Craterosaurus (2024 Mattel JW)
-Gryposuchus (2024 Mattel JW)
-Guaibasaurus (2024 Mattel JW)
-Hesperosaurus (2024 Mattel JW)
-Kileskus (2024 Mattel JW)
-Poposaurus (2024 Mattel JW)

I noticed there's also quite a number on the list that can be removed that were also present in the Life game. I'll have dig through it and  compile which ones later when I get the time.

Edit: Patagotitan can be removed as well, as there is the "Titanosaur" figure on the NHK website seems to be intended as such, based on the product description for it.

As far as the species currently included that should be removed, that also have Life game models:
-Aegirocassis
-Arandaspis
-Aysheaia
-Canadaspis
-Funisia (also Paleozoo)
-Harpes
-Marrella (also Paleozoo)
-Mawsonites
-Mixopterus
-Myllokunmingia
-Naraoia
-Peytoia/Laggania
-Pituriaspis
-Pleurocystites
-Pteraspis
-Redlichia
-Rolfosteus
-Sanctacaris
-Sidneyia
-Spriggina (also Paleozoo)
-Triarthrus

Remigolepis, and Vauxia can also be removed as they have Paleozoo models (2019 and 2023).

Do these Life Game models need added or did these already have existing models, and were removed as such?

Very extensive, thank you! :)  I will start adding and deleting when I can find the time.

I think I'm gonna remove the Life game figures though, they're kinda taking over the list to such an extent I feel they need their own. I don't really have the time and energy to keep track of them, so I'll gladly delegate that job to someone who is closer to this game than I am.

avatar_Roselaar @Roselaar Yeah that's totally understandable. Me and avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres got them all up on the Dinotoycollector website a few years back. So that's always an option.

Ooh, I'm glad to hear that! Would indeed be nice to have a way for collectors to get an overview of all the wonderful species represented in the game!  :)

I'm also gonna hold off on adding the new Mattel 2024 figures until they actually see release, there might be cancellations until then (I hope not!).

Right, edited the list.

I removed the Life figures. They need a list of their own and I will not be the one to maintain it, as my knowledge of this game and all the species in it is very limited.
I will add the new figures by Mattel the moment they are officially released next year.

Added Paleozoo's Mandageria. The other Paelozoo figures had been done alreayd, I found. Removed Safari's Dakosaurus (already done by Mattel and PNSO), Safari's Prestosuchus (also Mattel), Patagotitan, Bajadasaurus, Vauxia, Remigolepis and Mcnamaraspis (already done by Yowies).

Hi, everyone interested in unusual taxa! After 11 years of exemplary effort maintaining the Unique Species Reference List, avatar_Roselaar @Roselaar has handed it off to me. I'm planning to more or less keep it as it is, adding or removing entries as new releases warrant.

The one thing I'm still trying to decide is how to handle 3d printed items. Having something listed on Shapeways, Thingiverse, or My Mini Factory is probably not sufficient. For example, I once ordered a print of a Protosphyraena model listed on Shapeways, but it proved to be too unstable to print, so Shapeways just sent me a refund. On the other hand, the list has included Paleozoo models for a while now, which are printed, hand-finished, and sent out by their designer. I have my own ideas, but what do other people think should be the criterion?
