Make use of an array of creative tools to build the park of your dreams: curved, interactive paths and fences, a fine assortment of buildings fitting many visual styles and modular placeable decorations. Customization has no ends!

Create enormous mountains or deep trenches with Terraforming! Edit the terrain height, paint lush vegetation, rocks, and ground textures from our eight climates, and make rivers or ponds with the water brush.

Wide Range of Extinct Animals
There are many extinct animals in Prehistoric Kingdom, and choosing which ones to breed in your park is entirely up to you! The game features prehistoric creatures inspired by scientific research and interpretation, each one with its own distinct growth process, behaviour, and unique looks.

So, I just found out about this game. And apparently Nigel Marvin is going to be in the game. He voices over the amazing trailer here. Accurate Dinosaurs and Nigel Marvin have me sold on this game.

If my experience playing the Sims is any indication, me playing this game will be very similar to a certain 1993 movie.

Looks great. Wish I had a PC that can run it.

I was already really excited for this game, even moreso now that my new PC can run it, but getting Nigel to narrate the trailer is just the icing on the cake!

The great thing is is that Nigel will be character in the game, as confirmed on their recent live stream.

Oh my goodness. What a beautiful trailer, and what looks to be such a beautiful game. I don't even know where to begin. I mean I've been keeping an eye on updates here and there over the past several years. The accurate animals, and species roster is something else I'm in love with (though I truly hope they expand to including Paleozoic animals at some point, even if as DLC, if not at the very least the classic Dimetrodon).

The fact they managed to get Nigel Marvin to not only narrate the trailer, but to be a character in the game is amazing. Definitely brings nostalgia of the various Walking with short series (such as Sea Monsters), and the other things he's starred in related to it. So glad to hear his voice once again in regards to something involving long extinct animals.

T @Titanosaur The blog appears to have been deleted? Link isn't working anyways.

I did however find a species list here though: https://prehistoric-kingdom.fandom.com/wiki/Animals

I may just be able to barely run this game if going by the min specs on the steam page. Hopefully I can get a new laptop to play this game sometime next year. I can barely run JWE as it is on min specs (but well playable I guess).

Edit: I saw on the steam page the early access game will release with 22 animals to start with. I guess we've seen the bulk (18?) of those in the trailer maybe. I made a list of the ones I could spot anyways:

-Woolly Mammoth
-Woolly Rhino
-Edmontosaurus
-Smilodon
-Nasutoceratops
-Argentinosaurus
-Styracosaurus
-Torvosaurus
-Microraptor
-Psittacosaurus
-Deinocheirus
-Protoceratops
-Stegosaurus
-Parasaurolophus
-Lambeosaurus
-Camarasaurus
-Brachiosaurus
-Tyrannosaurus

After reading up about this, I have two thoughts. First, why are there so many of these games, and second, why do so many of them have to involve such shitty people? Seriously, stay away from the discord server for this one. I wouldn't buy this thing even if it looked decent.

This post, and all of the linked posts in it, show some of the nasty behavior that the developers and their fanbase have gotten up to. A lot of bigotry and targeted attacks.

There have been a million and a half attempts for indie developers to make the next Jurassic Park Operation Genesis over the last decade, Prehistoric Kingdom is just the only one who survived the process. PK has always been my number one most hyped dinosaur game, and I'm so glad it got an official company backing and even an IGN spotlight. It's like watching a little baby grow up, I'm so proud.

On that not however, definitely agree to stay far far far away from the discord server. Unfortunately the moderators were really afraid to use the ban hammer or enforce any rules whatsoever, so the place was overrun with a-holes and neonazis. Now it makes 4chan look tame with how much vitriol and hate gets thrown around in there. I haven't heard any bad things about the actual people behind it though, at least not on the level of the whole pedo controversy with the Isle.

You have to have a Tumblr account apparently to see the posts. I don't have an account on that site, could you provide screenshots? Thanks

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy I don't really want to share them. There's a lot of slurs and personal attacks in there that I'd rather not give any attention. avatar_Appalachiosaurus @Appalachiosaurus's post is basically a good summation. Apparently the devs'and mods' attempts at culling this behavior have been at the very best pitiful. Still, it's enough to make me not interested.

Honestly that trailer was beautiful. They have come a long ways since I first discovered their existence a few years ago.

I will stay away from early access though. I want the game to be 100% complete and I will gladly pay the final price for it. Unfortunately this means I will have to wait until 2022 (or more) for that :'(

They are aware of this and have cracked down on it. Slurs are now not allowed on the server and the previous instances of the slurs have been removed.

I would hardly say they've done nearly enough, but they are making a very decent effort (and most importantly, they are acknowledging that these problems do exist [see link below*]). I've talked with some of the moderation staff about things I saw, and it seems they are effectively crippled with self doubt of potentially "stifling anyone through excessive censorship". This is textbook what happens when a community becomes overtaken with nasty people, the staff get so used to the aggressive behaviour of users that they're nervous to take moderation action for fear of backlash.

At the end of the day the people who have said all of those nasty things posted above and more* are still present on the server, and most of them are still active. And if that's enough to discourage someone from wanting to engage there that is perfectly valid, but I hope that people who would otherwise be interested at least consider joining up, the best way to bring about real change is to alter the dynamics of the server with new people, people who don't stand for this sort of nastiness.

*I don't use Tumblr, so I can't comment on the nature or validity of this or any of the above sources (at least in part because I don't understand how the site functions on a technical level). Only that at least some of the people in these screenshots have not changed, even if the server overall has.
