Of course, even then, they had a very inconsistent track record of releases - sometimes good, sometimes mediocre, sometimes appallingly bad.

I personally prefer this Baryonyx over the CollectA one. I guess that should go in the unpopular opinion thread.  O:-)
Same here. The CollectA Baryonyx is great, don't get me wrong, but I personally prefer this one.

Ironic that it's being released by the same company behind that awful quadrupedal Baryonyx figure from the late 90s/early 2000s.

It seems to me that the production of the baryonyx of the Humbold Museum was in 2002 if I am not mistaken. And that my memory unfortunately fails a lot.

I don't like the Collecta one, either (nor the color, the head and I don't buy figures with bases), so I may have a closer look at this one from Schleich.

I agree with you too. I personally prefear this one over all the other Baryonyx figures I saw until now. It looks great to me!

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

I think that I'll wait for the DTB review of the Baryonyx before committing to buy. They're not getting any less costly!

Vidusaurus

Honestly a very disappointing field this year, especially considering how interesting many of the animals they chose are.

Cryolophosaurus: probably the most disappointing of the bunch. It looks like they just slapped a crest on the Giganotosaurus and called it a day. The frosty blue paintjob is very jarring as well. Hard pass
Baryonyx: easily the best of a bad bunch but it has been unfortunately overshadowed by CollectA and Favorite in the last couple of years. Visible fenestra are a big minus, while the proportions look a bit weird (although it may just be the angle of the photo). Would still probably get it if I found it at a reasonable price.
Agustinia: it's very obvious that whoever designed this just saw the old CollectA and thought "hey, we should do that!" without putting in any research. I have no problems with companies taking on fragmentary species, or with reconstructions becoming outdated thanks to new evidence, but the amount of effort Schleich put into researching this just shows how little regard they now have for paleoart and paleontology as a whole. Beyond the issues with reconstructing this specific genus, there are a number of inaccuracies (especially in the feet) that they really should have learned not to keep repeating by now, and the position of the head and neck is very unsettling. Keep this thing away from me at all costs.
Ankylosaurus: my second favourite out of this group, it's a clear ripoff of the Jurassic World Ankylosaurus (especially some of the Hasbro toys) but despite this it is very endearing and almost cute. Very low on my list of priorities but if I found it cheap I'd pick it up.
Postosuchus: yet another case of critical research failure, this is clearly based on the WWD offering which was (if I remember correctly) out of date even at the time it was produced. The head looks atrocious as well, like it's been cleaved in two with an axe. I do like the colouring though.

List of Schleich figures retired for 2020. They're already getting rid of one of their best dinosaurs- Psittacosaurus...

The Tawa too. Not a surprise, really. While genera like these are attractive to collectors, they likely are less so to the general public, still.

Jose S.M.

The second Kentrosaurus was nice too and it's also being retired.

Faelrin

The Psittacosaurus and Kentrosaurus were some of their best. What a shame. Guess I need to get those sooner then later then.

The same here ... those were really good.

Well, no surprise. Schleich has a history of retiring good models while the bad one are continuing getting made. Basically replace "God" in this text here with "Schleich":
Spoiler

Spoiler due to Transformers violence.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Schleich's psittacosaurus seems to have not been very successful and has been removed. I understand that the general public (except toy collectors) in relation to the Schleich brand prefer dinosaur figures and other prehistoric animals of worse quality. The tawa has also saddened me that they had withdrawn it was in the average quality of dinosaurs. The tawa was an acceptable animal.

Although I have bought all versions of giganotosaurus, except for the last juvenile giganotosaurus theropod of 2019 that was a pretty good figure, the rest of giganotosaurus do not understand how Schleich has not replaced them with better quality figures, unfortunately all giganotosaurus follow the same quality pattern of the famous giganotosaurus of the Humbold Museum in Berlin that without being a big deal at least was the most striking compared to all its later versions except for the repainted Schleich giganotosaurus of 2019 whose painting left said giganotosaurus in very good place. I would like Schleich to focus not only on children but on adult toy collectors who cannot afford to buy high-quality resin or metal figures for two examples.

Flaffy

Probably the horrendous green-pink paintjob is partially to blame for Psittacosaurus getting low sales.
It makes it look like a cheap toxic chinasaur that came straight out of the child labour factory.

PrimevalRaptor

Sad to see those are already getting retired but like Flaffy said, the paintjob really is kinda boring, could have done with something to make the sculpt really pop out.
I guess that means I should finally grab that Tawa, maybe I can find it a bit cheaper somewhere lol

I agree. The sculpt is really good, but the colours they chose for it totally ruined the final piece. If only they would have chosen a better colour cheme *sigh*  Still, it's a shame they are retiring it, it's much better than the vast majority of Schleich's other dinosaurs.

Primeval12

I rarely do this but just ordered the Tawa and the Pisactosaurus form amazon. No way I'm missing out on either!

Brontozaurus

Yeah, I've been eyeing off the Tawa for a while now but I might finally pick it up now it's being retired.

I've been putting off getting the Psittacosaurus, so it's pretty convenient the news came just before the Black Friday sales began.
