My god what the actual heck is wrong with that Brachi. SO disappointed. That play set is so weird. Ugh...this proves Schleich's depleting quality.

That Brachiosaurus is cursed. It seriously looks like the kind of knock off that only exists in the darkest corners of eBay and AliExpress.

stargatedalek

Buildings and vehicles look pretty alright though, kind of interested honestly.

How large are the Schleich humans? Would help a lot more in terms of figuring out the practicality of these than just dimensions of the buildings.

Pachyrhinosaurus

I don't like where the Lego execs are going with the playsets and accessories. The bright colors and lack of detail make it look tacky. The animal nursery that they made a few years ago had a more organic feel, fit in a lot better with the animals, and felt like a quality toy overall.

You know, that T.rex repaint isn't that bad. Just a shame I will have to get a human to go with it.

Speaking of humans, just realized that the one in the blue shirt is an Alan Grant rip-off. Wouldn't be the first time, given that they ripped-off Owen Grady's outfit before for their Wildlife Ranger. ( It's split between two guys who are repaints of each other )
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Killekor

So Schleich will release just bad repaints this summer? What a delusion... >:(!
I hoped for new sculpts.

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

they like to rip-off whatever the current Hollywood movie fad is.
Wont be surprised if the next Bayala figures are heavily influenced by Frozen 2. Expect snow elves and see through plastic water horses.

Ummm doesn't Schleich claim their toys are educational? Because I really can't see how playset that looks like straight out of Jurassic World universe can be educational...

Nimravus

Disappointing, but not surprising!

The truth is I also totally disappointed I expected something very good from Schleich. I thought they started on the right path when making new dinosaur figures. Those repainted are more intended for people who are not collectors.

They are set of games for children. I thought I repeat that Schleich had changed his business philosophy. I realized how wrong he was.

SidB

Perhaps the new, improved figures of the last couple of years didn't sell very well. They didn't seem to get much exposure here in Toronto, Canada. For instance, the Mastermind stores are still stocking the abominable Acrocanthosaurus and Allosaurus as well as the old Stegosaurus (not bad, but old stock); they never stocked any of the newer stuff that we were excited about. I don't t see any of their figures elsewhere, let alone the newer ones.

These are actually a museum exclusive range of sets. Dubbed "The Creation Collection".  ;)

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not, sounds like Schleich...

CityRaptor

No, Creationism isn't that big in Germany. It's probably a Lost World or Jurassic Park scenario. ( the former is also used in the magazines that come with the reppainted Minis, although with different humans )
It's probably their "boy counterpart" to the "Horse Club", given that Dinosaurs seems to be their counterpart to Horses.

Well, they also have a range of fantasy critters. Hard to claim those as educational.

Could be, although I think one catalogue mentioned a Bayala movie.

avatar_stargatedalek @stargatedalek no, I'm joking. Though, I am waiting for the day a Creation museum exclusive range of toys comes out.

Gosh, must be nice to live in a smart country...

stargatedalek

OK so, I actually didn't catch it was a young earth theory reference... I thought it was a reference to Schleich being so full of themselves that they would call a line something so ostentatious as "The Creation Collection". Looks like my head went over the joke so to speak.

Looks like dino playsets only, no new sculpts.
At this point, I don't think anybody's holding their breath for remarkable figures from them.

The positive thing is that we will save a lot of money on Schleich figures. From something negative positive things are taken out.

CityRaptor

Yeah, that's true.

Hmm, looks like one of the new Eldrador figures will be a Monster Gorilla. Negative stereotypes aside, I wonder if it will look like Kong or Papo's Gorilla mutant.
