Yeah, that's true.

Hmm, looks like one of the new Eldrador figures will be a Monster Gorilla. Negative stereotypes aside, I wonder if it will look like Kong or Papo's Gorilla mutant.

CityRaptor

Ah, thanks.

Nope that looks like neither.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Schleich 2020 2nd half new product list:

https://www.spielzeug-guenstig.de/s01.php?shopid=s01&cur=eur&sp=en&ag=1&pp=sucheazu&offset=0&zu=79&sev=1&lim=120

Looks like dino playsets only, no new sculpts.
At this point, I don't think anybody's holding their breath for remarkable figures from them.

There's still the upcoming advent calendar that could feature some nice little new sculpt (like the 2017 calendar's Ammonite).

Anyways, I'm honestly disgusted by Schleich's summer dinosaur releases of this year.

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

I guess at least we won't need to get hyped up about new models just to end up with something like their Plesiosaurus again (The texture just kills it) but man, this is a weak year then compared to last year.
The Postosuchus and Baryonyx are still kinda nice, but nothing truly outstanding like the Spinosaurus or Dracorex.

I would add even the Schleich diabloceratops 2019 was an outstanding figure that competed in terms of equality with its counterparts in Safari and Collecta.

PrimevalRaptor

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus Agreed, was just naming a few examples but the Diabloceratops is really magnificient! I do wish the eyes were a bit more subtle but apart from that it's an amazing model and I gotta admit it's my favorite Diabloceratops on the market.

Shonisaurus

avatar_PrimevalRaptor @PrimevalRaptor True Schleich diabloceratops is the best thing that has been done in the market. Also its latest version triceratops is an outstanding ceratopside.

That said, what spoils diabloceratops are his bulging eyes.

He is just shocked how bad some other Schleich figures are.

You know, them ripping off Jurassic Park ( even more )  might actually be in their favour. That way they can claim that their Dinosaurs are that terrible due to their genetic code not being pure.

Ummm doesn't Schleich claim their toys are educational?

Yes, they do and most Schleich fans by now know that's bogus.
Their biggest "crime" as of late has been their green Psittaco, imo. One of the few dinosaurs that made headlines for preserved pigments and what does Schleich do? "Ehhh, brown doesn't sell that well. Make it forest green like a delicious soda! The kids will love that!" ;)

To cut them a bit of slack, the Psittacosaurus we know the coloration of is P.sp while they based the model off of P.sibiricus so it having a different color can certainly happen.
However...the color scheme still is really bad, I'd have taken the P.sp coloration over this dollar store toy color scheme.

I don't think that even a laboratory error will save these models from being bad, unfortunately ;D! Even an Indoraptor would consider them too absurd.

I actually kinda like that little Muppet Pterosaur; what species is that supposed to be?

It's a Quetzalcoatlus hatchling.

Man, Schleich has gone full Chap Mei. I guess there's a small chance that there will be something worthwhile in the Advent Calendar, more like 2016's than 2018's.

The Jurassic Park fans seem to react rather positively to what is basically a rip-off of their beloved franchise.

I was disappointed with the second installment of Schleich dinosaurs. They just emulate JP / JW.

Takama

Im a little sad that there is no new individual releases for the summer.

I hope this is not the direction they plan on takeing, by abandoning individaul releases.

Since mattel seems to be taking their sweet time releasing playsets and the like, we'll take what we can get lol

it's nice to see Schleich ISN'T re-making the same species again... They can produce some really nice looking figures, but I find myself getting tired of seeing the same species over and over from them... So I'm happy that this year feels a little more fresh.

I don't like where the Lego execs are going with the playsets and accessories. The bright colors and lack of detail make it look tacky. The animal nursery that they made a few years ago had a more organic feel, fit in a lot better with the animals, and felt like a quality toy overall.

Yep, totally agree....so disappointed in this year's crop of figures from Schleich. They all just look like children's toys....honestly I've seen chinasaurs that look better. Even the somewhat much-applauded Baryonyx, to me, only looks good in comparison to the rest (God...that Cryolophosaurus...ugh!!). I had higher hopes after last year's Spinosaurus.....but this year took a major step (or 6) backward.
