It's comes with its own

avatar_Pliosaurking @Pliosaurking Your image is not showing up for me. That said it's also in the op however.

avatar_Lynx @Lynx It will also have inspiration from the WWD packaging (such as the original Toyway Tyrannosaurus figure avatar_Duna @Duna helped me get):

I think there was an image of what the packaging design would have looked like on the kickstarter or Creative Beast Studio facebook, but I don't want to go digging for that now.

Oh that's odd it shows it for me
That's the exact image anyhow

Lynx

Tempted to keep the figure in the box since figures tend to fall off my shelves a lot, but it's too pretty looking to sit in there.

I'm still disappointed that there hasn't been a glow-in-the-dark figure announced. Suskityrannus would work best with the Zuniceratops one, but the 1/35 T. rex would probably sell better.

Quote from: Creative Beast StudioI've been working with package designer Steve Melick on the new, updated look for the Beasts of the Mesozoic: Tyrannosaur Series packaging. This Tyrannosaurus rex layout is just about finished and I'm really happy with how the look has evolved, even including window printing now.

And for more on all of the latest Tyrannosaurs Series news, be sure to check back next week for a brand new Kickstarter update!

Latest update. Lots of images in this one. Hopefully the Kickstarter backers will get their tyrants in late October, but if not, it's not a huge deal. Events will play out as they will.

I wonder if David will be bringing back the thing that the raptors had, with bases that come with every raptor?

I sure hope they do, it looks nice and helps with stability.

I beleive all of the figures will have bases, figures above 14" will have the switchable leg style with a metal pin to slot into a base, and fugures below 14" will have the classic posing rod style.

Quote from: suspsy on October 06, 2022, 10:19:22 PMDavid has put up a tutorial on how to paint the T. rex in MOTU colours. Very cool!

Ugh, this is making me want to get a grey one to paint myself again. I've already shelled out for the DR version and I don't really need two of this behemoth. Hmmm.

The 'hoodie' on the painted 1/18 Rex looks much less noticeable.  On the unpainted version it looks like the hood that medieval knights used to wear over their head and neck to protect them from their armour chaffing.

The comparison pics between 1/18 Rex and Hammond Series Rex on page 86 are interesting.  Not nearly as much of a size difference between the 2 figures as I was expecting.  And the heads are the same size.  The biggest difference is in the depth of the torso.  But for a cheap toy, Hammond/Epic Roarin Rex and its siblings are pretty good.  The feet are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better on the BOTM Rex though.

New test shot pics of the Yutyrannus (and Guanlong). More pics in the spoiler below. I'll probably add these to my imgur account later. Also jeez I haven't provided an update for this thread in forever.

QuoteThe new batch of Beasts of the Mesozoic Tyrannosaur Series test shots are in hand and I'm finally able to pose these guys around. We'll start off with a look at the largest of the new figures, Yutyrannus!

Pretty sure the only ones we're getting this year are the 1/18 and 1/35 T.rex.

Faelrin

A @andrewsaurus Test shots are an important part of the production process to catch any last minute adjustments, by testing the figure after its been created in plastic, such as testing the joints, and level of detail. Once that's all well and good, then the paint sample stage should begin. The last I've seen has suggested the remaining Wave 1 figures (including this Yutyrannus) are expected to ship in late December, with the Tyrannosaurus figures arriving next month.

There could however be delays because of the cargo shipping crisis (if still a thing at this point, I have no idea). Regardless David is very transparent about the whole process from beginning to end, and has been since the first raptor series campaign.

ah ok, I was just going by what BBTS had on their website.  It say Yutyrannus, juvenile T rex and a couple of other figures, wave 1 I guess, are due last quarter of 2022.  So I guess that's sorta correct.
