I'm reading that a lot of DTF members are buying from a well-known Ebay store (L**a  T**e   S**p  ;) ).
Every time I checked on that store, I saw inflated price (scalpers' price  ??? ) due to the fact that nobody knows the real retail prices.
GR Toys Spino is about 25-30 Euro (22-25 USD) NOT 60 or 70 ..

Stay safe

Thanks for warning Robin. That spinosaurus from GR Toys seemed too expensive to me.

I always think the same. It is an awful expensive Store. They also removed the original price from the Pictures.

Looking at the listing, https://www.ebay.com/itm/GR-x-LongGu-1-35-Scientific-Spinosaurus-Model-Dinosaur-Collector-Spino-Toy-Gift/254697950112?hash=item3b4d2e4ba0:g:u4gAAOSwvEFfQyK7

They are doing what a lot of other ebay sellers are doing. They offer free shipping while actually charging shipping as part of the total cost.  Factor in fees from selling on ebay and paypal and you can see why the cost is what it is.

RobinGoodfellow

..well, it's not exactly like that.. I bought resin statues from Dinosaur Darkroom Market priced 350USD while THAT ebay store was selling them for over 700USD.
And shipping price was about 70USD.
I think that a seller is free to price items whetever he wants.
But I'm also free to say that prices are too high for their real value..

Stay safe. :)

I dont think anyone here can give a definitive answer. I personally doubt it, and think that ebay will be the only option. But I dont know.

For now I will wait for other sellers on ebay, to check the prices. And I will wait for the other companies to show their 2021 lineup. Maybe collecta will give us a deluxe up-to-date spino.

Shonisaurus

We will have to wait at least several months for prices to calm down and that spinosaurus GR Toys can be bought cheaply, it is not advisable to buy that figure in a hurry unless it is an exclusive figure like Rebor's titanoboa, I know from bitter economic experience.

ceratopsian

I have also previously noticed the huge price differential on some resins between the eBay store under discussion and Dinosaur Darkroom Market. I was quite shocked.

I'd consider it if it came with a fish.

What would be a prehistoric Fish or Fish in general, you would love to have a Figure of? I am just curious.

I suppose Halichoeres mentions the fish because he is an ichthyologist, that is, an expert in fish, and therefore he would like there to be more fish as collectible and toy figures.

I've seen Monster House charging upwards of $100 for figures that are selling for only dollars on Yahoo Auctions. And yet when people mentioned they were scalpers, that they used stolen pictures in their listings, etc. you leapt to their defence saying that their prices were fair and competitive.

And you said I was a liar that an item I ordered from them arrived damaged (an item I paid over $100 for after shipping and for which they tried to trick me into accepting a $10 refund!).

I don't see why I should assume that Lana Time Shop, who were extremely helpful and courteous with all order problems I had, even going so far as to help me get in contact with a factory to see if a discontinued item was potentially going to be reissued, or if any were leftover, are these horrible monster scalpers you make them out to be. Surely the same standards should apply, and the higher rates are fine so long as they aren't significantly higher than other options on Ebay?

Yes :) I thought of an possebility to have a specific goal to start sculpting with real sculpting clay, wich i have now. I thought about creating a prehistoric Fish and if there is a special one i would try that and give it to him, if the Result is giftable :D

That's so thoughtful, thank you! I am not sure I'd feel comfortable accepting something like that as a gift, but I'm definitely open to purchasing or trading. A healthy fraction of my fish collection arises from inclusion with Spinosaurus figures. I'm open to any and all Paleozoic and Mesozoic fishes, but I'd have to say Obaichthys is near the top of my list.

I put a Gallery of the two versions on my Site:

Even though I prefer the green version, the orange one is actually more than just a Papo Rip-Off.
Also, for the first time I feel the jaw articulation is the proper one for a Spinosaurus model.

Shonisaurus

I understand that that spinosaurus figure from GR Toys is the most scientific version of spinosaurus made to date and based on the latest scientific discoveries about that rare dinosaur.

Thank you for teh Pics! I would love to have one of these, but not at around 70 Bucks. Looks reall like a Papo Figure. Not because the Paintscheme. Because of teh overall Sculpt and kind of Paintwork.
