What frustrated you about the older pose so much ?

I closed the mouth because I thought the head looked way too big; I repositioned the legs, straightened
the tail, lowered the head, to give it a more horizontal position (I thought it looked like a ballet dancer)

Martin

I haven't seen enough skeletons of this guy to be able to tell about the skull size really. The odd pose issue is one I've before..like with David's " Judith " . Personally I think it adds a little artistic " flair " I guess is the word to use ?  I always kind of thought the Mono's pose looked like it was chasing something and didn't see the cliff so starts to turn..probably too late..lol but I digress, to each his own. You really made this work as is.. :)

Jeremy K9

Very nice paint on that Lambeosaurus. This is one of Angie's Shapeway Hadrosaurs, right?

I'd like to have a really big ( 1/15 or 1/20 ) Lambeosaur or similar large species of hadrosaur done like that.

This reminds me..anyone heard from Angie in awhile ?

Angie is still around. She posted on Facebook recently, about aquiring a new wheel chair. I've meant to ask her about any new Shapeways pieces she may have in the pipeline. :)

No worries. ;)

I love the base for this piece as well. This past weekend I drove past a swampy area that looked just like this, with trees sticking out of the murky water. :)

Dinos may not have lived in swamps..but that doesn't mean they didn't look cool around em'... ;D

BTW saw that Trike Dio on FB..VERY awesome work ! Gave me some ideas.. ;D

If the sculptor has nothing but science his hands will have no art.

That would be the one yes. ;D

Now I wondering if a couple of these guy couldn't be reposed to be crossing a flooded river.. ;)

Actually, I have to say I'm not loving the green so much. It's the actual scene depicted that gets me excited.

@ Blade: I like your idea. I love the whole dinosaur-crossing-river idea. I actually plan on doing something similar with my CM Studio Tyrannosaurus Rex Running Pair.

Yeah it's an image that has a lot of energy in it..I'm not sure if only two pieces could pull it off though. I was thinking one jumping in and another already swimming/fighting the current.

This also made me want to do a similar fight piece ..but with the Trike's clashing by leaping like big horn sheep.. ;D

If you need inspiration, you should check out Douglas Henderson's portrayal of a herd of Centrosaurs crossing a river. Very powerful piece.

Lol, ram-style. That might actually be pretty cool although you might wanna opt for a more lightly-built Triceratops rather than the hefty behemoth sculpted by Shane Foulkes' (Martin did use Shane Foulkes' Trikes, right? It looks like it to me, but Martin's modifications are getting me confused  :-\).

Yeah those are Shane's... :)

I don't know...it really depends on how well they are pinned I think. Just looks at the poses of the Sideshow pieces.. ;D

Oh, I wasn't referring to the actual physics of how to pin the figures. I just meant that Shane Foulkes' Trike, to me, doesn't seem like it would be able to engage in activities such as jumping. But I guess I could picture it rearing on its hind limbs and using the momentum of its descent to ram the other trike (which I get the feeling is what you meant?). That could honestly be pretty cool! Regardless, I really want to get my hands on this trike. I just don't know when!

Ah, clarity.  The pose it's currently in is pretty neutral..but seeing how Martin altered these I'm sure he could go a bit further.

This is the pose  I was thinking of :

Maybe good for a clash piece or perhaps I could it in that pose leaping into a raging river ?  That would save me the funds of two kits and get the river crossing concept   I was looking for before..hmm ?

0onarcissisto0

Oooooh I like I like! Although I think instead of jumping into the water,  you could portray it desperately trying to leap out of a raging river and onto a river bank.  That would certainly get the idea across! And yeah, two of Shane Foulkes' Triceratops would certainly cost a pretty penny although it still wouldn't be a waste. I'm really hoping his Chasmosaurus comes out this summer. Ooooh man, I'm so in love with that thing!

When you see wildebeest running into a river they leap and dive and do all sorts of powerful looking poses. ;D

I'm actually thinking to do what I want I would need 3 of them.  One jumping in, another crossing, and a third struggling to climb the opposite bank.  SO yeah it could be a bit pricey..I might wait and see if David does his Trike next in 1/40 that could work out I think..or maybe Shane's new Chasmosaur would be good depending on price. Should be less thoguh considering how much smaller they are to Trikes I guess. So we'll see..I have the idea and I know who can pull it off eh Martin ? ;D

Hahaha, Martin to the rescue indeed! The Chasmosaurus should be less than the trike based on what Shane has told me. DK's trike might be the least expensive if that does come out in 1/40. I guess time will tell. The only thing we know for sure is that if your diorama works out...it's gonna blow DTF members' minds lool.
