Does anyone have the Mamenchisaurus,? I'd kind of like to see a scale comparison of it with some other figures. I'm really considering it.

Shonisaurus

Without a place, Mojo's mamenchisaurus and mandschurosaurus are the favorite figures of this year by that brand, this year Mojo has made very well-made figures even, this year's tyrannosaurus rex is for me an improved version with respect to its old versions .

By the way, Mojo's mandschurosaurus has another version of paint and so does this year's tyrannosaurus rex, Mojo is expected to get those repaints out next year. They have for my part a buyer's insurance.

I don't think I have ever disliked Mojo. I think what they are doing as a company is great, which is improving over time.

My only issue with Mojo is that they are one of the three (the other two being schliech and papo) products usually available in my local stores.

Bread

? @Stolpergeist Yeah it is unfortunate. However, I do live in America, and the Safari figures that are available I am not a fan of. If there are any Safari figures they are the older figures, such as the old green Tyrannosaurus. Also I am not a fan of Papo and Schliech so they are a pass for me.

Anyways, sadly all the Mojo figures that are ever available are their older figures. Mainly been seeing their older Tyrannosaurus, not the hunting variant.

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus I'm still on the fence in regards of getting the Mandschurosaurus or not but it's a maybe for me, at least it is easier to get than the PNSO one.
The region exclusive variants are a fun concept for collectors I think.
The hunting Tyrannosaurus by Mojö is a very neat looking sculpt, I have not seen it in person yet but it looks fun.
The newer 2020 version I don't like as much as it reminds me too much of Papo's running one except less monstrous.
The Dinosaur Revolution repaint by avatar_Over9K @Over9K makes it however a bit more interesting to me in hindsight.

For sure the original paint is a yawner... thankfully it's also really thin! The sculpt, however, is pretty darn good. IMO the Mojo has better arms, better seam placement and cleaner, better hidden seams than the Papo. The Papo has better feet, texture and a better head sculpt.

this is a blatant bootleg
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Honestly even though it has a worse head detail, the head is ever so slightly more accuurate, maybe even accurate if you want to get speculative

Gothmog the Baryonyx

I don't. Ind Mojo, some of their newer releases are relatively okay, but I tend to ignore most of their stuff because I only really want 1 or 2 of any particular animal and they usually do ones that there is at least one better of. So I only have the Mandshurosaurus as it's easier and more convenient to get than the PNSO and the Thylacine which I use as the male to the CollectA female.
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

avatar_Loon @Loon I have it.

Hmmmmm....

Honestly, it gets a lot right. And, controversial opinion, but I think it's a better Mamenchisaurus than PNSO's diplodocid-lookin' figure. But, there's just something...off. I don't care the paint, maybe that's it? I don't know. I'm so tempted...

Loon

Huh, I didn't know the Amargasaurus suffered from that, though not completely shocking, the sail on the back spikes is wrong as far as I know. I've been thinking of replacing it with the safari as that one honestly just appeals to me in some ways the PNSO doesn't.

Speaking of the cartoonish eyes, do you ever plan on repainting your Mamenchisaurus? This is really selfish, but I'd love to see how this thing looks with a different paint job.

Yeah, Schleich and Papo are certainly not something when you look for anatomically accurate extinct animals haha.
And the older Mojö dinosaur models were terrible, similar to early CollectA.
Sometimes I get wonky Schleich dinosaurs of which they got plenty, as their good ones such as the Psittacosaurus sibiricus are only a few that retire too quickly, because they are a fun challenge to customize but usually I get them second hand.
Papo I stayed away from for many years as I only viewed them as "ugh JP knockoffs again" but I am slowly warming up to them although only because my partner is more open to buying Papo dinosaurs and the Megaloceros, that still hasn't entered the store shelves, has convinced me to maybe give some of their models a try but most of the time I see a lot of wasted potential, thinking of stuff like their Quetzalcoatlus pose choice.
The older Mojö Tyrannosaurus is quite something, I am very glad to see the improvement which still is far from looking like the real animal but the old version reminds me of the dinosaur suit from the B-movie The Velocipastor.

That is the exact Tyrannosaur that is sitting on the shelves. Some are bought but they are the main dinosaur product on the shelves in my local hobby lobby, but hopefully they get replaced with the newer Mojo figures. Guess that the store is at fault?

Yeah the Safari one is great, it only has one error, only the first spike should be unpaired, the second one should be paired already

From what I understand, Amargasaurus is only known from one set of remains. One could speculate there was natural variation in the spikes much like how Styracosaurus is now known for its asymmetrical crest. At least until other remains are found. Not that Safari was needing much defence in being the most accurate mass-produced Amargasaurus.

avatar_paintingdinos @paintingdinos No honestly, I told that exact same excuse to someone else before.

It's a good excuse! More defensible than getting the wrong number of toes (sorry PNSO, you're still my favorite).

avatar_Bread @Bread Ah, Hobby Lobby, we don't have that chain here but they would most likely throw me out of the store as soon as I enter anyway.
This. I die a little inside whenever they're mentioned here. Michael's has better variety anyway.

Forgive me about mentioning that store. Surprisingly I learned that they carry Safari's Feathered Rex. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but my excitement sunk immediately. It was beat up and scuffed up really bad. I know one of two figures there was missing part of its foot. I did not buy it instead I purchased one off of Amazon. Anyways, I keep going back there every now and then to see if they update anything I would like, for example possible newer Mojo products.

Stegotyranno420

NGL i kinda like hobby lobby, i've been there once, but i really like the atmosphere, the products, based on your opinions, seem, well, concerning.

I would Love to Shop at Michaels More often, However, the nearest one is a 2 hour drive away, and Almost Every Safari Figure they have that intrests me, has been purchased and added to my collection.

Point Being, Im Stuck With Hobby Lobby, and there Lack of Care for there product ::)

These attacks on the person, Hobby Lobby, are ludicrous. Where else could I buy 5 year old Safari figures that are so scuffed and broken that it looks like they've been through a wood chipper? Where else could I get wooden signs that say "Faith, Hope, Home"? Where else could I buy ornaments that are literally just bootlegs of Ice Age 3 toys from McDonald's? ;)

It was literally this toy, but as a solid mold, covered in glitter.

Alright, I need to know, did it also still have the screw holes and seams?

I honestly don't remember, this was when I was back in high school I think, maybe around 5 years ago. I really wish I took a picture, because I can't find any on the internet. All I remember was that it was covered in glitter, hollow I think, and had a fancy tag saying it was part of some "Collection".

CityRaptor

Reminds me of those DINOZ figures by Simba.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no
