Makes sense. A lot of the figures they originally planned for 2021 would most likely have been from Dominion. And Dominion has been delayed, so more repaints.

Can´t wait to see people complaining because "too many repaints" "make humans and vehicles" "do something new". For once Mattel has an excuse for just doing repaints and people of course won't pay attention to that.

Definitely interested on the Lost World styled raptor. I'm happy that we are getting a Sinoceratops with movie-accurate colors, but at the same time I fear it will look too similar to the Pachyrhinosaurus and I would like more color diversity between figures, so I am a bit tempted to just get the grey one. But I should go for movie accuracy, so the logical decision should be passing on the grey one and getting the green one once it comes out. Cause I don't get repaints of medium/large figures unless it represents a specific variant seen on the film, the Camp Cretaceous variants don't really count for me.

I wanted Mattel to repaint their Coelurus since I couldn´t get the original but damn, that repaint is a bit ugly.

Edit: Hope if next year's releases are repaint heavy, then this means I can save money on this brand and do some serious catching up on Safari Ltd, CollectA and PNSO next year.
For once I would appreciate that, although for me it would be for catching up on 2020 mattel releases, and other non-dinosaur collectibles. Hopefully I can make some room for some regular dinosaur figures too...

Flaffy

:o A near movie-accurate deco of Sinoceratops so soon after the Camp Cretaceous one? Nice!

It's slightly disappointing that Mattel skimped out on the belly paint though. And would've preferred if the pattern on the back was striped rather than a web. The yellow eye and small pupils is oddly unsettling as well. But overall, a definite improvement over their previous attempt at the JWFK colour scheme. The muted shade of forest green is much easier on the eyes than the gaudy bright green used on the Pachyrhinosaurus.

ItsTwentyBelow

Watched the Collect Jurassic video on these earlier. The new figs may all be repaints (except Troodon) for now, but that's ok given the global situation.

The new Sinoceratops is definitely meant to outright replace the earlier Pachyrhino, given its exactly matching colors. Maybe they will rerelease that Pachyrhino too with brand new colors?

In the end some of these still look nice. I like the new yellow raptor and do not yet have that sculpt, and the Cryolophosaurus actually looks very good in darker colors.

All in all, should be an opportunity to save money for now!

PrimevalRaptor

Even if those are only repaints, some of them are pretty neat. The Proceratosaurus is cool but I already got the Attack Pack and Battle Damage versions (for some reason I really like the sculpt, lots of personality).
LOVE the Cryolophosaurus but the figure is a bit large for my taste (I prefer the Attack Pack sizes, better for my desk lmao) and I do like the Coelurus a lot, didn't see the original one around here sadly but maybe this'll find it's way here (also very lowkey reminds me of the Camoxtreme T.rex)

Kotori_Sonoda

Considering the world situation, which affected Dominion's release, its understandable why these are mostly redecos. I'm interested in that Cryolophosaurus, I actually like that color more than the one we have now.
While that attack pack galli sure is painted nice I don't like the mold so I'll likely skip on it.

Yes, I feel the same way. And I still haven't found the Sinoceratops so this give me hope that if I don't find the current one I might be able to find this one. Since I already have the Pachyrhinosaurus though I really don't want the Sinoceratops in the same color scheme. Even if it is film accurate. I also prefer the new Cryo and since I never got the 2020 version I might just get this one.

whats with all the big cartoon yellow eyes? :o
Im glad there'll be another reissue of the carno Snap Squad as I cant find the first two versions and eBay scalpers are asking double what its worth. NOPE. I did find the 2nd wave brown SS Rex at Target.

CityRaptor

Probably has to do with it being for Camp Cretaceous. Of course large yellow eyes are not automatically cartoony.

Appalachiosaurus

Ah! That Sinoceratops is a must have, I didn't mind the gray color scheme but the accurate green is leagues better. Those eyes though, yeesh. Also eagerly anticipating the Telltale Troodon and Kenner Gallimimus, but admittedly the rest don't interest me, and despite the awesome paint job I still really don't like that Cryolophosaurus sculpt.

Carnoking

Love that Cryolophosaurus repaint, gives me a Demon Carnotaurus vibe. Wish they had led with that one instead of the browned banna peel variant we got this year!
Pretty cool to see the sinoceratops with a more saturated and darker color scheme, but so soon on the heels of the last one kind of makes me lukewarm to it.
Hate the red and yellow color schemes, Mattel needs to drop that. I mean, what? It's was originally planned for an allosaurus, then it got slapped on a metriacanthosaurus, and now the raptor? Yuck! But I'm sure it will have its fans.
And is it just me? Or is less and less paint going onto these figures?

Eocarcharia

I also have yet to find the 1st Sinoceratops, so I'm glad it's getting a new release, and in a Fallen Kingdom-based color scheme, which I prefer to the original grey.

No, I don't think it's you. It does seem like they've been getting stingier with the paint over the past year or two, particularly when it comes to claws. Maybe the quality will pick back up when they have a movie release to promote.

It seems that we are getting a Spino repaint: https://www.collectjurassic.com/122320-3/

I see they tried to replicate some of the body patters from the film.

Personally, even though Spinosaurus was brown in the film instead of the grey the original toy has, I am gonna stick with the original. But this a good option for those who want a Spino with a "somewhat accurate" paint scheme. Only downside is the yellow eyes...

Also if you think the paint application is not that good in these promo shots, remember, Mattel is one of those rare cases in which the final product paint usually looks better than the promo pictures paint.

Faelrin

Well that's interesting. The markings are a bit more faithful, as is the brown (though the markings on the sail could be blue instead of white, but I'm sure the limited paint budget is going to be why, since most Mattel figures only have like two-three paint colors not counting the eyes, mouth, or claws at times), minus the yellow eyes of course.

Now it just remains to be seen how this will be distributed, as the original (and BD variant) suffered pretty badly, except in the UK mostly. I guess this won't be electronic either? Would have been cool to have an electronic one.

I'm also quite curious as to why this has popped up now? Giving fans a second chance at getting one that missed out? Possibly showing up in Camp Cretaceous? Needing something popular to repaint to hold the line over for 2021 with Dominion being delayed to 2022?

If Mattel isn't releasing any new sculpts then I think a great alternative is to re-release toys that had poor distribution this year. I'm happy to see they're re-releasing the Spinosaurus and Sinoceratops. Maybe they can do the same with the Quetzalcoatlus.
