Got the new update for the Facts App downloaded when I found some interesting new figures that have yet to be revealed properly.

First up is this new Extreme Damage Indominus rex. That will certainly be interesting. Hopefully it will be completely articulated as is the new T. rex. I'm guessing the Extreme Damage line might be the replacement to the previously poorly handled Battle Damage line (at least in the US if not elsewhere).

Second up is this new Velociraptor. Doesn't appear to match anything we have seen and are aware about so far (the one Fierce Force Velociraptor, and the Raptor Squad set). Looks like yet another TLW styled raptor:

For those in Metro Manila, they have got Baryonyx Grim in :o , along with a reddish brown Pteranodon and yet another Triceratops repaint. Which of course means we're just one year behind everybody else :D  There was also the Basic line, with the JP3-style Spinosaurus and the green Pteranodon. And lots of baby Bumpys.

The latest tan Spinosaurus repaint is also up on Lazada and Shopee.

Edit: the Spino is now at Toys R Us, as well as the Monolophosaurus.

Bunch of new stuff just showed up on Collect Jurassic's social media.

First up is the action features of the new Roar Attack figures, which explains the odd switch thing on them. At least the mouth on the theropods can stay open after using it, which gives options for toy photography (of which there is a huge community for these figures).

Next up is the new Scorpios Rex (which appears to have no action features) and Kenji and Gyrosphere pack, and the new Extreme Damage Indominus rex (which I found in the app just a few days ago):

To be honest I am a bit disappointed the Indominus which appears to still be electronic, and is likely just as large as the original. I was hoping for something along the lines of the ED T. rex released, with other then the damage feature, had articulation only. I'll probably be skipping that second Scorpios Rex pack as well, since I already intend to get the Kenji and Monolophosaurus pack that will release later this year.

Edit: Was just checking out JPToys, when I spotted these new in box pics for the Fierce Force figures were added over there:

Man, this line is going downhill.

I must admit I've very disappointed in what seemed like a very intriguing idea at first.

"revised" raptor?

-same jurassic world raptor head sculpt
-same clown feet
-no stripes
-blunt teeth

Mattel is outright doing a shameless cash grab if it wasn't clear already. They didn't even bother giving us a more accurate repaint. If they're too testosterone-deficient to make a serious attempt at a real premium series, they shouldn't even bother. Whats in it for the collector? These figures are not notably different than the ones meant to be for kids. Their lack of detail, realistic proportions, blunt teeth and shitty paint apps are really an insult to the serious dinosaur collector.

Sorry guys, but this line has been a real s-show for me. I'm definitely saving my money for Beasts of the Mesozoic.

I don't understand what that's supposed to mean?

For the record, I think the Amber series is fine. Just picked up the Pteranodon and TLW raptor before they almost immediately disappeared at TRU. Is this JP1 raptor any different? I thought it was a re-release.

Isn't that the whole point of being in business, though?

What does that even mean?

I think that avatar_DaleRussell @DaleRussell 's testosterone statement may have something to do with bravery or power, though I am not sure since I am not really good on this topic, and I am not allowed to research it yet.

I get what it means, but it's not class to repeat it here, and on top of that I find such terminology crude and problematic anyways.

On topic, I do think this revised release could have been more accurate however. Other then appearing to have more yellow on it, it still doesn't quite do it justice, never mind the wrong skull shape (since these are all just technically repaints of Blue), which was expected but I'm still tired of seeing nonetheless. Really it mainly seems to exist to try to make the older releases in line with having the clear bases (likely due to all the comparisons to a puddle of pee people used to make, if not possibly being cheaper to produce). I honestly prefer the original release from what I'm seeing here, but of course I will wait to see how it looks in more reviews, before judging this further.

Of course I don't expect 1-1 Stan Winston maquette or animatronic, but with how well Blue, Delta, the newest Pteranodon, and this upcoming Dimorphodon pair, and arguably Charlie, and the Dilophosaurus were (back pattern is incorrect, but otherwise pretty faithful), it's pretty sad to see how inaccurate the others have been so far, particularly Echo (which while derived from the CC redesign wasn't fully consistent with it, unless the figure underwent production prior to the redesign being finalized), and the TLW male raptor (especially the head), and especially the JP raptor, particularly what was (at least originally) a line intended for older collectors from the start. In fact I feel the simplified Legacy Collection rendition of them released last year was a tad bit more faithful in coloration.

In fact I find the stark difference in between how the mainline (most of the time), and the Amber Collection pretty shocking, and sad to see as a JP fan. Even the Snap Squads have had a better and stronger release despite a rocky start with poor distribution earlier on, and are much more widely received from what I've seen. Honestly as a collector that has interest with both scales, I find myself prioritizing the mainline much of the time despite its big issue with distribution at times, because even if accuracy isn't full on with it either (partly due to cheaper product costs, and thus having lesser paint applications as a result, but there are numerous sculpt issues as well, such as can be seen with the new Ouranosaurus with six digits on the forelimbs), it's just generally done a better job of getting me excited (such as the new Apatosaurus finally). I think other then the initial Amber Collection JP Velociraptor release (I thought 'finally a highly articulated JP raptor'), I haven't really felt that way with the rest of the line, except the Dilophosaurus, and the Pteranodon. I do quite like this new Dimorphodon pair, but it just doesn't give me the same excitement I guess. Honestly at this point I am pondering if I even want to fully invest in this line, because a) for those prices I could be getting caught up on PNSO, or the like, and b) I'm obviously running out of display space, some of which I need to conserve for other brands I collect, never mind the main line that will likely have a lot of new and interesting species to get with the film's release next year.

Honestly I've also seen a lot of growing contention on youtube and instagram for the Amber Collection because of its issues, mainly lack of accuracy (TLW raptor got a lot of flak), lack of variety, poor quality control, etc. V @Victoria's Cantina made a very good video over on youtube showcasing the problems this line has had suffered from since its launch, if one really wants to delve into it further. I really hope some of these issues could be addressed going forward. It is good to see variety is starting to get there, with the release of the two pterosaurs this year, and the baby T. rex and Compsognathus pack coming later this year, and a few more humans sprinkled in as well.

Edit: Just as I finish posting this it appears we finally have an in box look at the Dimorphodon pair, and the Velociraptor, both of which appear to have pages up on Amazon now (other sites like BBTS and EE have since had them). I don't think I mentioned this before but I'm really curious to see how this new Dimorphodon scales alongside the new Pteranodon, but also the original Attack Pack figures (or any of them I suppose).

Pachyrhinosaurus

I saw the TLW raptor at Target today and I agree, I was not impressed. The head shape felt off and the scales were too small (which is consistent with the JW raptors). The paintwork on the original raptor also isn't quite right. I think a dry brush of darker paint would have been a better choice given that the scales were individually painted on the animatronic with the center of each being the darkest. I also saw Arnold for the first time in-store, and had to pick him up.

I'm hoping the dilophosaurus sees a re-release like the velociraptor is getting. I missed out on that one last year.

I really want that bugger... the Super Colossal line is my favorite one.  Looked this weekend and found nada at my local stores.

Blade-of-the-Moon

It's a neat feature with three "levels" and roars for each.  Those are REALLY white arms on the old Allo though. I need to pull my BaBR one out and see if it's a resculpt or not.

Primeval12

That switch on the Ouranosaurus looks quite bad. That is a shame, it is a great sculpt.

Eh, from that image it doesn't look too much more obtrusive to me than the "handles" on the battle damage dinos' wound pieces.
