this one would have been fantastic :

That is definitely the kind of colors I would have wanted.

Honestly I find it to be an improvement over the classic brown color scheme, although not screen accurate.
This is just more interesting.

But I alwready got the brown female, and I don't need two brown T-Rex...

Over9K

Cranked that last one over, make it easier to study...

Blade-of-the-Moon

It's neat, not a fan of the blue eyes for some reason. A red, Kenner colored Rex I would have definitely bought.

Yea I think a red Rex would have brought something more than just a brown variation, although I still would have bought the green.

Shonisaurus

They look great those two tyrannosaurus Nanmu honestly looking at these two beauties one never feels tired of collecting tyrannosaurus even if they are not scientists. Nanmu makes some fine figures of that iconic dinosaur, the most iconic prehistoric animal of all time.

SidB

Wonderful diorama. Puzzling, though, why the design, with all of its great detail, didn't get he skull shape correct.

Abobo

they wanted pehraps making it "cute" with the "round" heads to reflect the calm of the scene or a tribute to Little-Foot and his mama from The land before time animated movie?
either way, it's a super nice piece!

The The Once and Future King series will go on sale on June 21.

Thanks for the review video, I received my own V-Rex and it's a beauty (poster some pics on the Recent Acquisitions thread).

I forgot to mention that Nanmu seems to have improved the articulated jaw on this one, the downside of the brand so far in my opinion.
Some figures could not open or close their mouth entirely, or others could only do one or the other and you could not choose the size of the gap, the degree you wanted.
It was either fully closed or fully open (like the Giganotosaurus).
I might depend of the figure, the T-Rex seems fine (but needed hot water or hot air, I think they were trying to improve the jaw issue here), but you might need some luck here.

The V-Rex's mouth is a bit stiff, but does not need hot waiter/air treatment, and it is very adjustable.

My goodness, I do hope the paint job on the production model will not deviate too much from this, but if it is, say, at least half as good (or preferably 75%), I will be excited. I will definitely go for the green one. (I have only one green T. rex, and that is the Papo. I love the 'true to the movie' color scheme, with the yellows and greens.)

Abobo

I'm now torn between the Green and the obsidian (what a presence)
damn!

Psittacoraptor

I'm not a fan of JP anymore and told myself I would only get scientific models, but that obsidian T-Rex is seriously tempting. The colour scheme looks fantastic. These stylized models seem be working out for Nanmu but I hope they will consider making scientific models one day. The quality of the sculpts and paint, and prototype vs final product seems to be outstanding from what I've seen.

Up for pre-order through Lana time shop. I'm sure other places won't be far behind. Lot of price variations with this one, the most expensive version being the final paint job with the base and figure for 114.99. The "deluxe" pack with the base and human figure is gonna run you just over 30 dollars more in every case, which is a very big ask for a little extra slab of plastic if you ask me (regardless of how epic it makes the king look). I think I'll wait to see if Dan's has a pre-order before pulling the trigger. I also noticed that some shops on AliExpress are selling the giga base seperately from the giganotosaurus itself, so with that in mind maybe I'll just get the rex for now and see about picking up a base separately down the road. I don't much care for the human figure this time around as it's not an official JP/JW human.

dragon53

I wanted the base because I'm worried the T Rex might topple over----but at $32 extra, I'm having second thoughts about buying the base.

I will certainly go for the "basic" package (the green and yellow is my favourite colour scheme anyhow) and make my own base/stand if needed. For that relatively low price, I guess it is (partly) hollow (like their "Apatosaurus")? I mean, I don't care too much, but I do like bigger figures to have a certain heft to them.

Baby Sinclair

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one thinking of skipping the base this time - neither of my Giganotosaurus Rexes have problems standing without their bases (though I purchased both with bases), and none of the Vastatosaurus Rexes have problems either (which is good as there are no pegs for these to fit onto their bases).

The Obsidian Rex reminded me of one of the Gremlin designs in Gremlin 2, but aside from the face the body feels too plain. The green buck is a definate, but I am also really tempted by 'Mountains'. That being said the Vastatosaurus Rexes colours are not a vivid as the photos suggested, with the contrast between top and underbelly not as striking so I fear that the dapple effect on 'Mountains' may be underwhelming.

If I don't pre-order and instead wait for YouTube reviews what are the chances of missing out altogether (as there is so much interest, excitement and anticipation surrounding The Once and Future King)?

Hello, I find myself annoyed because my order for triceratops in lanatimeshon left since April 27 and has not even arrived in the United States, and I am from Guatemala, I do not know how long I will have to wait.

I pre-ordered my Trikes and Vastatosaurus Rexes - my Trikes were dispatched on 19th May but have yet to arrive, 3 being shipped along with a Mosa in what I believe is one large parcel. One month since dispatch and they're still in China. Meanwhile my 3 Vastas were shipped individually on 3rd June and they arrived at the end of last week (17/18th June).

So, I think if you have one large bulk shipping it will be delayed by lots of dancing around Chinese customs, but if your Trikes are shipped individually they might have a quicker and easier transit. Hopefully we both receive our Triceratops soon!  ;)
