Honestly, that triceratops is huge and very well sculpted, what detracts from it is perhaps its painting. Honestly, Collecta makes figures of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals at outrageously low prices, that is, at laughable prices and almost of the same quality as figures from other companies. as PNSO. It is something that I am grateful to Collecta.

Some of the new models were sent to me by CollectA as a reviewer gift. All amazing models! More photos in my collection thread if you want to see more.
Huge thank you to CollectA for their generosity and for also showing appreciation to the classic written reviews. It seems like these days YouTube reviewers are getting most of the attention, so its really humbling that Collecta hasn't forgotten us writers :)

You are a super privileged person for your work inside and outside the DTF, those gift figures indicate how happy they are with you, in this case Collecta with your reviews since you advertise their products with your reviews. I'm happy for you. On the other hand, the paraceratherium (it's phenomenal) and the same with the coopoceras and spinosaurus (especially the spinosaurus), a bit of the same I think of the pteranodon is very striking with that crest so ornate in terms of color, and I can say the same of the current animals of Collecta that fortunately still exist among us

I wish CollectA abandoned their "Supreme" sized pterosaurs in favour of the size of the new Geosternbergia's, which, while not overly massive, it's not too small either (in fact it's still on the larger size).

The Geosternbergia is the highlight of the year from CollectA in my opinion.

That's one of the best looking models I've ever seen in my entire life

The paraceratherium and the Spinosaurus look great, but the Anglerfish and especially the green iguana are the most splendid of the bunch, Collecta just keeps improving over the last few years.

See I only buy those because they are so large. I've skipped moist of the recent pieces just for being so small. Haven't decided whether to get the Geosternbergia or not yet.

Collecta's latest Spinosaurus has almost everything going for it (especially considering the price, which is low for what you get). If only it were Collecta's figures in the shops everywhere here, in stead of Schleich. (I am not the biggest fan of Collecta, generally, so the impulse buying-factor would come into play here much more, whereas with Schleich it certainly doesn't.) That anglerfish too, is just great.

The Anglerfish species is Himantolophus paucifilosus for the blog review

Curious what you mean by this. it hasn't been reviewed on the ATB yet, and no one has reserved it. Did you want to reserve it?

By the way, the general consensus in forum discussions is that the fish is Melanocetus johnsonii (although Himantolophus looks to be just as valid). I wonder if CollectA will give a more specific name when it is released.

From Everything Dinosaur: We note that COLLECTA ANIMAL FIGURINES have announced the sad passing of Anthony Beeson, the mastermind behind the amazing CollectA range of prehistoric animal models.  We at Everything Dinosaur had known Anthony for a very long time, he was always enthusiastic, great fun to work with and extremely knowledgeable.  Our condolences to Anthony's family at this difficult time.  Sue and I will miss our friend.

This is a sad lose Anthony was a remarkable person he had a distinguished career as a specialist on Roman murals, he had publish travels books. He was  very knowledgeable about English toy lines a great source on Inpro and Invicta. He published several articles in PT.  He really defined the look that became CollectA. I am pleased to think of it as his memorial. I will miss him and remember him fondly.
You can never have too many dinosaurs

Quote from: Everything_Dinosaur on April 01, 2022, 06:19:49 AMThe image of the CollectA T. horridus that has been used in the marketing releases to date, is actually one of the prototypes.  This is why this figure does not have an articulated jaw. As we understand the situation, the actual model when it is released will have an articulated lower jaw. We make reference to this in our avatar_Everything_Dinosaur @Everything_Dinosaur blog post from back in November 2021.

Like many companies CollectA have been hit with production difficulties due to COVID-19, zero tolerance of COVID-19 by Chinese authorities has resulted in forced factory closures and delays at ports, this has somewhat stymied the production plans of many companies. The T. horridus production has been further compounded by Museums Victoria who will have their own figure, a colour variant matching the colour scheme of their murals associated with their new Triceratops exhibit.  As the museum where the Triceratops exhibit is housed has been closed (due to COVID-19), plans to produce these figures were thrown out of schedule as Museums Victoria did not want to take the figures until they were open and the exhibition was up and running.

Here is our blog post from November 2021 announcing the Triceratops figure: CollectA Models Part 4

We also made a video that provided more details on the model and explained the context, you can find our video on the avatar_Everything_Dinosaur @Everything_Dinosaur YouTube channel: CollectA Triceratops YouTube

For the record, whilst we know that CollectA production and shipments have been subject to delays, we do expect our next CollectA shipment which will include most of the new models (not the Triceratops) sometime later this month.

Hope this helps to clarify the situation.

Any news yet on when the as-yet-unreleased figures will be available? I'm most interested in Paraceratherium and Cooperceras specifically.

I am also especially interested in the paraceratherium, I would like to buy it from an online store, but the marketing of this figure is slowing down a lot, there may be added problems due to the pandemic in China.

All remaining CollectA items are in stock at Minizoo!

Almost placed an order with Minizoo but that shipping fee was killer. So, I'm going to wait until DeJankins gets them in late October. It means my reviews will have to wait and I hate that, but all well.

suspsy

I did place an order because Minizoo really is the best option for Canadians, even with the shipping. Also, there's still a CollectA sale going on.

That makes sense. I really wish CollectA was easier to get in North America. For me the shipping would have been $20.
