On 21st July 2025 we learned of the tragic death of our friend and fellow DinoToyBlog reviewer EmperorDinobot, who passed away at the young age of 36. His real name was Luis Perez. Luis lived in Oregon and was a participant to this blog and forum community from the very beginning. His first blog review was posted in 2008, which makes him one of the only reviewers to have stuck around since those early days.
Luis was a constant presence on the Dinosaur Toy Forum with unmatched enthusiasm for the hobby, and we know enough of him from his online persona to be in deep sorrow, even if we never met him in person.
Luis had a great sense of humour, which was apparent in his forum posts and reviews. He obviously had a big heart since he was always ready to comfort and cheer up others, even when he was feeling unwell himself. We hope the forum, in return, provided him with some solace and distraction when he was facing tough times. In addition to his passion for dinosaurs, he was also a huge Star Wars and Batman fan.
It was an honour to have Luis among us and he will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family and we will always cherish his memory.
