avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Even though you are in the UK, I would definitely reach out to David about these QC issues. He should definitely be made aware at least. Sadly reminds me of the QC issues my raptors had way back in 2018.

Wave 1.5 should start shipping out later this week if not by next week for those in the US, etc.

The first copy's lips were detatched from the inner jaw, so much so that there's a noticeable tear. Needless to say the mouth doesn't close flush either, an issue for a lipped figure.

The second seems to have all this extra gunk on the teeth, to the point where bubbles have formed. A major scuff can be seen on the postorbital boss too.

I haven't received my copy yet, but that's either a really rough casting issue or there was some viscosity to the clear seal used on the teeth? It certainly needs to be replaced, has anyone else received theirs with a similar issue?

Does anyone who backed the Kickstarter know if they get a tracking number or does the package just show up randomly? This is my first time backing.

Fembrogon

I just got my DHL tracking number in an email a few minutes ago (Guanlong, Old Buck, Diablo nestlings). It's probably just a matter of Silva working his way through shipping out all the pledges.

Faelrin

avatar_Primeval12 @Primeval12 You should get an email with a tracking number once the label has been made, and it is ready to ship.

In fact, I just checked and saw I got an email with the tracking number as well, through USPS.

My Guanlong and Yutyrannus arrived. I think my Yutyrannus has a slightly warped jaw? Should be easy to fix under hot water or with a hairdryer. I'll ask David about it later. I'll take some better pics tomorrow, when I have more daylight to work with (hopefully).

Edit: Here's a better pic of all three that I pledged for during the kickstarter. Got a lot of others on my wishlist that I'll need to pick up later.

Coming back to post that there's been a new update, with revised estimated ship dates for Wave 2 and Wave 3. Lots of paint sample pics too for Wave 2 figures.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Received the rest of my Wave 1 order. I've only opened the juv. Rex to go with my adult, I have to say the smaller ones are much more poseable but the feet like with the raptors just don't like to stay in those base pegs. I've tried four different times and each time "Jane" ends up falling over. If she goes down again I'll just try to do a pose that doesn't require supports.

andrewsaurus rex

put some clear nail polish inside the holes on the feet.  Once it dries, it will make the hole a bit smaller and should give a tighter fit on the peg.

right.  but the ankle joint is pretty loose and makes it flop to the side. i think a slightly deeper metal peg would be better, kind of like Mcfarlane Toys used on their dragons?

Wave 1.5 is here and man am I in love with this line!

Spoiler

The Guanlong was one of the last figures I ended up backing, but boy am I glad that I did! This thing is so much better in person.

Would have liked to see some feathers on this sculpt but this is easily the most fun to pose out of the group yet!

Yutyrannus is a serious looker.

I still haven't opened my Yutyrannus and the Guanlong yet, I won't open boxes unless I have space for them lol They looks great though! Now to afford Wave 2 lol

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin avatar_Carnoking @Carnoking dang, seems like the issue with Yutyrannus's lips is a widespread QC defect then...

Not sure why A @Andysdinosaurreviews 's early review copy has lips that close perfectly flush, when the mass release all seem to have this very noticeable issue.

Faelrin

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Yeah it is disappointing as I do recall there was tooling done to make the jaws close flush. So not sure why they are ending up like this unless they are warping during shipping? Or maybe from being mishandled at the factory?

Hopefully the hairdryer or hot water method can fix it up.

So I finally opened up my WWD 1/35 T. rex to get images for my upcoming review for the blog on it. I did have a few issues. Most notably there is too much paint in the knee joints on all the legs (static and posing) that makes it really hard to move them. I'm guessing I might need to remove some with an x-acto knife, but I don't have one on hand atm. Also not sure if it is just mine, or by design but the static leg's feet don't seem to go on the base's rods fully? Like the feet slightly hover over the base. I do see that the other leg not on the peg, does seem to fit firmly on the middle raised section of the base, so maybe it is by design. Lastly I had a lot of trouble getting the extra feet to get fully attached to the ball peg thing inside the posing legs. Maybe it's just because I'm weak or I should have heated them to soften them up first. I wanted to get some images of them in use for my review, but didn't have any luck today. Maybe tomorrow I'll heat them up and give another go at it. Starting to get dark, so it's a bit to late to try it now (at least for getting any pics).

My Yutyrannus also had a lot of paint in most of its joints. Most of it flaked off while moving the joints though. I warmed everything with hair dryer first.
I only had to scratch paint with knife out of hole in Guanlong's base. There was so much of it I couldn't fit the posing rod in.
And my Yutyrannus' feet don't fit on the rod flush either. I think it's design issue. When you look at photos of prototypes, some of them seem to slightly 'hover' over the base as well.

suspsy

I definitely had to heat up Marbhtach's extra feet to get them to attach to his legs. Better get out the hairdryer!
