i get the croco scutes are a massive turnoff for many, but for 35 from in hand experience its a steal and the papo has the ( to me) worse issue of to the bone skinwrapping making it sorta a walking zombie once u know the animals anatomy

Where did you ordered them? I live in Germany and could get them from Amazon Japan for 56 Euro each incl. shipping.

I like the "croco scutes" :) . They're ceratopsian scutes to me.
And I would never judge a figure by its price. Either it's beautiful or not. After that decision I look at the price and when I have the money, I buy it.

That's a good way to handle such decisions.

I truly wish sometimes , though only realisticly if youre anywhere upper middle class, otherwise it makes sense to judge price vs quality ur getting since money is a big deal each time ( pls dont take as judgement anyones mindset is valid just explaining mine)

im still keeping hopes up they do a scientificly accurate dilophosaurus or ceratosaurus this jear, theire popular enough yet lack accurate models ( pnsos cerato is old)

i would also eat a deer whole if they make megalosaurus , he needs an accurate figure badly and is important part of dino history, even if hes so fragmentary

This wasn't exactly my point. I try to explain it a bit better:
If I don't like a figure, I wouldn't buy it just because it's "a steal". I would only buy figures that I like no matter what the price tag says.

Quote from: Flaffy on May 22, 2023, 12:27:50 AMOh right of course. But considering Brontosaurus has no skull recovered to my knowledge, it's very likely Bilinski based Zeus's reconstruction on Apatosaurus. And the point still stands on the anatomical precision.
There is a Brontosaurus excelsus skull that was classified as such by Bakker, there are photos of it on the Internet.

I'd like a Dilophosaurus or Ceratosaurus from Haolonggood!  Austroraptor too, which will get a popularity boost from appearing in Prehistoric Planet 2.  The only Austroraptor figure that currently exists isn't even a model, it's a featherless toy by Mattel.

V @vampiredesign, if you make a Haolonggood Dilophosaurus, a helpful reference is the new reconstruction of the skull which can be seen below.  The skull is more robust than previously thought and the crests start before the nostril.  The crest in the image below is incomplete, it only shows the preserved portion.

Which specimen are you referring to? If it's USNM V 5730, the iirc it's been reclassified as belonging to a Brachiosaurid.

Thanks for the info! I was still under the impression that it's classification was still up in the air between Apatosaurus and Brontosaurus.
Apparently there's postcrania associated with the skull that hasn't been described yet, so that should be something exciting to look forward to.

Flaffy

So now we have...
- Sauropod: Apatosaurus
- Stegosaur
- Ankylosaur: Tianzhenosaurus
- Ceratopsian: Pentaceratops
- Theropod

Two more to go based on that teaser, very excited to see what Haolonggood cooks up. ;D
Still hoping they'll eventually expand their line to include Nigersaurus and Lurdusaurus for a proper Elrhaz formation display. Wouldn't mind Eocarcharia or Kryptops either.

Concavenator

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy It was rumoured their upcoming theropod is a megaraptorid.

New in-hand pics of the Brown marbled Apatosaurus! Really not sure which version to go for now... Definitely don't have the funds or space to get both (as much as I would've liked to! ;D )

+ a comparison with other sauropod figures on the market. Again courtesy of Baidu collectors.

ur not alone bud, i cant decide and i need to since its a hundred bucks XD, grey has smth both bland and iconic to it, coffee is more daring but detracts from the sculpt a little more

Blade-of-the-Moon

Looks awesome as expected, I really think a green variant would have been nice too, but I'm happy with the brown. It give strong Mark Hallett vibes from some of his sauropod art. Even though I painted my own 1:1 Apatosaurus grey I chose brown, I think had the grey showed some patterning in it I may have went that direction as well.

Concavenator

I'm leaning towards the grey... I like both, but of course I will only be getting one. The brown one is the flashier of the two but the grey also looks nice plus it gives me Dinosaur King vibes, so that's some nostalgia entering there.
