Mesozoic Life Project - Kickstarter 2022

I thought the original projections were for a January shipment. I understand there's been delays due to factory shenanigans, but is there a new ETA on this project? I backed it, but due to a snafu on Kickstarter I can't view this backing on my normal acct or ask the creator for an update.

No ETA, but the creator has his hopes on the finalization of the mold this month.

"Greetings backers, here we come with a quick update number 25 quite fast, where as you can see we are still doing different tests in PVC to see how stable, detailed and reliable they are before reaching the final product.







Both myself and my mediator apologize for the poor quality of the images, as the factory workers seem to have taken them with their cell phones. Later we hope to offer not only higher quality images but also more tests and if all goes well the final version of the product.

Of which the first to be finished and shipped will be the unpainted gray versions exclusive to the Kickstarter campaign which if I remember correctly would be a total of 25 or a similar number.  And later on, the color versions will be tested and the quality will be defined according to the price paid and mass-produced!

As usual, I thank you for your understanding and patience in waiting for the production, preparation and shipment of these products to be finalized."

I will go straight to the point, many of you will remember that the shipping costs requested in the campaign were about 15usd but as you will have read above the PVC product in its box weighs 2 kilograms, adding to its dimensions of length, height and width as well as the mandatory way our shipments come with tracking code, let's say that the shipping costs have increased exponentially, especially in countries and regions far away from China.

There are also 4 countries/regions that have absolute priority due to a greater number of orders placed, these priority are the United States, Mexico, Spain and United Kingdom in that order.  At the moment I have to decide what to do to solve this problem properly, before I start asking them for more money so they can finish paying for their shipments.

Additionally, if any of you have experience in these situations I welcome any suggestions you can give me. "

I am still excited for this model, and I feel bad for this Blayken fellow, who has clearly been over his head throughout this whole process. I'm not sure he realized what he was getting into. I hope he is able to deliver without charging for additional shipping, but we will see. I believe David Silva has run into similar issues during his Kickstarters: international shipping prices can rise quickly.

I didn't order the Spinosaurus figure and I don't intend to get it as I'm satisfied with the PNSO 2023 version, but I'm happy to see the Mesozoic Life figure has reached success and now people who supported it will get the figure!  I wonder if there are any plans for other species now?

Not an expert by any means, but I would say it comes down to preference, given the lack of solid details about Spinosaurus.

For example, do you prefer an M-shaped sail, or a more even, rounded sail? This figure has the former, the PNSO has the latter, but as far as I know there is no real scientific evidence that favors one style over the other; we don't know the arrangement of the neural spines on Spinosaurus's back for certain.

Also comes down to coloration preference. PNSO has a more brown coloration as many of their figures do, whereas this one features some vibrant oranges on the sail and red on the crest.

As far as posture, proportions, and all that, they both look pretty similar and in line with current paleontological thinking, although it's Spinosaurus, which means everything could change with some new description of remains or newly uncovered fossils.

I might buy it, but depending of the price...
