A pity to see the Carnotaurus upsized if you ask me.

I mean it's in the realm of possibility I suppose, but it's too bad they upsized it. Although it's not that big of a deal, the line isn't super strict with scale. I mean I have it as an add on so not much can be done now! :o still a beautiful figure though!

Well, yeah, same here about Carno. I was pretty excited that it was gonna be 18 inches long (closest scale to current estimates, 8.4 mt long by Scott Hartman' f.e.) so I got quite let down by that size modification. David is maybe doing it so the armor is more compatible with previous BotM figures but personally I don't think that should be a big priority, since probably the armors will not be mainly bought independently but for the specific figure they belong to or directly in the bundle. And even then the Decimator armor may not even properly fit the Wave 3 Tyrannosaurs since Carno's build is more slender, the helmet will definitely not fit them, that's a given (on the flipside, the Achillobator armor will not fit the Carno anymore. As David originally said it will).

Yet, having said that, I'd much rather have a 20 inch Carnotaurus over the 16 inch option. I just can't imagine a Carno that's even smaller than a Ceratosaurus (even though they'd be the same length, Carno is much more slender and has a smaller head so it would look too puny in comparison to other theropods). Anyways, at the end, this is not the huge deal since Carnotaurus at more or less 9 meters long could be just a large specimen but I hope that for Primus' sake Creative Beast Studio doesn't start being less careful about the scale in the future, one or two exceptions are no big issue (for example Centrosaurus might be too big and Tarbosaurus too small, but that's understandable because they need to re-use bodies in order to reduce production prices), but one of the things I love the most about this brand is how consistent they tend to be with scale and it would be genuinely dissapointing to lose that.

New package art of the Yutyrannus set:

QuoteIt's the final Cyberzoic Friday of 2023 and we're going out with something special! First revealed on our live stream last night, here is package art for the Yutyrannus set with Qi'Lara, by Raul Ramos! (Snow Dragon not included.)
This is likely my final post of this year, so I want to sincerely thank all of those who've supported us. 2023 was incredible and will certainly be remembered as one of our most important years. There's so much to look forward to in 2024- onward and upward!

In a FB comment on the corresponding post David also said this about the Snow Dragon:

QuoteFun fact- the Snow Dragon was based on one of my very first dragon designs for McFarlane Toys- it was unused of course.

And still regarding the Snow Dragon, he responded to my instagram comment, and confirmed that Dimetrodon served as inspiration for the design. I really dig that, and hope this guy gets a figure in Cyberzoic II.

By the way there was another stream last night. I joined in pretty late last night, so I'll be checking out what I missed today:

Edit: The above art was also revealed in the stream, but I joined just after that bit (around the 56 minute mark I think just from skimming through the time bar thing).

Thanks for sharing, I'll make a post later today about this Stream's reveals if people want it. This Stream was even crazier than the last one concerning new reveals. Just please give me a moment because today it's pops' birthday.

So from what I'm gathering in this thread, David is planning 4 Allosaurus paint variants in BOTM and Cyberzoic, right? If that's the case then I'll definitely have to plan out my choice of Allo purchases because I don't think I can manage getting all 4, haha! ;D

Carnoking

His post on the fine cuts made it sound like Cyberzoic gets one (A. jimmadseni from the Kickstarter) and BotM gets one in the form of A. fragilis for the time being. David did say "we'll get there eventually" in a response to someone asking about variants of both in both lines but no telling how long that will be.

Quote from: Raffa on January 10, 2024, 04:45:31 AMAs previously mentioned, we now have fine cut models for all of the new Cyberzoic animals from wave A and B, and today we have a look at the fine cut for Allosaurus! This is planned to release in both the Cyberozic (A. jimmadseni ) and Beasts of the Mezozoic (A. fragilis). I'll have my own photos to share later, but here are few taken at the factory. (For those wondering, the fragilis head is the gnarlier-looking one). No release date to announce yet for the BotM version, but the Cyberzoic is up for preorder now and is expected to release this November.

Flaffy

Glad I waited for the BotM version, it's shaping up to be more my style.

"We have a new Tuesday Teaser today- here's a sneak peek at new package art for the Beasts of the Mesozoic version of Deinonychus antirrhopus, by Gabriel Ugueto! @SerpenIllus"

Concavenator

Quote from: Flaffy on January 24, 2024, 12:03:50 PMGlad I waited for the BotM version, it's shaping up to be more my style.

Same here! There's not a single Cyberzoic variant that I prefer over their BotM counterparts, so I suspected that'd be the case with Deinonychus as well. I mean, I already intended to get either version anyways, but based on the teaser alone, it's safe to say it's the BotM version the one I'll be going for. Gabriel Ugueto making the art for it makes it even more of a must!

So yeah, I'm also glad I didn't preorder it during the Kickstarter, because I was admittedly tempted (granted, I like the Cyberzoic one too).

Carnoking

Looks like you could have a good male/female pair between the two of them

Faelrin

#1153
I want both. Can't wait to see the full reveal.

Edit: David just shared that the tooling for the Utahraptor and Achillobator are done now. I'll share the pic in a bit.

Also some stuff that might be worth it to comment is some announcements from the last Kickstarter Update and the last Creative Beasts Stream, in case someone missed any of them.

1. Nanuqsaurus confirmed, Cryolophosaurus confirmed to be part of the Tech Clan (in a recent post David also shared that it might come in Cyberzoic II) and also Polar Bears (Which I hope will be Ursus Maritimus Tyrannus)

2. As many people were requesting, David and Team will be updating Allo's jaw articulation so it's mouth will have a wider range of motion

3. Many species were suggested to David, but among them, Australovenator and Concavenator were said to be potential future offerings by him.

4. David mentioned that all Cyberzoic Parts will have a main matchup; to which Cyberzoic I was Allosaurus vs Carnotaurus, Cyberzoic II will be Tyrannosaurus Rex vs Acrocanthosaurus and Cyberzoic III will be Spinosaurus vs Giganotosaurus!!!

5. And last, although for me the coolest announcement we've seen in awhile. David mentioned that he's interested in doing Mosasaurus, Kronosaurus, Elasmosaurus and an Ichthyosaur!!! Literally the coolest possible sea creatures (at least for me).

Man that would be an amazing addition and work well as the raptor for the Water Clan since I don't remember if they had one or not
New to paleoart and sculpting, but really trying to learn more! If you have any requests lmk!

Faelrin

Austroraptor is one of the few dromaeosaurids I'm hoping will get the treatment in 1/18 scale (other then Microraptor, and Zhenyuanlong and the other 1/6 raptors).

An austroraptor would be fantastic!

suspsy

I'd rather have Australovenator than Austroraptor. There are scores of dromaeosaur figures out there, but still not very many ones of megaraptorans. And I never did acquire Banjo.
