Oh yes, just in case some people are worried there are NO talking/dancing/singing Lemurs anywhere on the Dinosaur ride as well as NO talking Dinosaurs. It is all played straight up. You are sent on a mission by a rogue palaeontologist into the past just before the big asteroid hit to bring back a living Iguanodon. You are on a motion simulator that rides through a diorama inhabited by animatronic dinosaurs. I repeat this is a NO LEMUR ZONE!

I grabbed this shot from the UndercoverTourist.com that gives you an idea what you are in for.

Ha, I wasn't as happy on that ride as those people were. I may have , er, made a bit of a mess at the carnotsaurus jumpscare.

Also, I may go to DW for Easter. I'm definitely going to grab a Carnegie diplodocus if I go.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Unfortunately, it was announced at D23 this weekend that Disney is planning on destroying Dinoland USA in favor of a South America-themed attraction. I'm extremely disappointed at this development. Dinoland was always one of the best parts of going to WDW and it's been very inspiring to me over the years.

Save Dinoland USA!

Giganotosaurus

I was planning on going to Disney World again, but now I'm not feeling it. My favorite ride is going away. :(
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

Blade-of-the-Moon

It's been rumored for several months now. Indiana Jones is replacing the ride and there will be an Encanto attraction as well.

I have a few folks emailing Disney to see if they want to donate anything to our dino park vs trashing it all.

If you manage to preserve any of the animatronics from Dinosaur and get them running again I would love to see that!

Unfortunatly from what I know of Disney animatronics are often scrapped for parts or reskinned and reused as something else. I'm mainly hoping for outdoor pieces, playground equipment, or statues. I would love that huge brachio skeleton but not sure where it would go.

It depends on the animatronic. Humanoid characters get reused more so than others, but something more uniquely shaped like the Universe of Energy Dinosaurs are typically just thrown away if not left to rot. Animatronics of note are sometimes archived if they aren't stolen, And sometimes they just auction them off. There are quite a few re-sellers that exist for large scale disney props and animatronics.

Also, if I'm not mistaken isn't that the same brachiosaurus from the Field Museum, now O'Hare airport?

It does. Sometimes they aren't worth saving. They did keep the Iguanodon animatronic from the river at Animal Kingdom, you can find it in DL Paris I think sans the skin on a tour. They do make odd decesions sometimes.

It might be? I haven't heard where it came from anywhere I've read or watched.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but I don't think Disney has "donate" in their vocabulary, especially with the financial hits they have been taking lately. And I am a Disney fanatic, I love all things Disney. Usually when they get rid of ride components, park signs or store figures they end up on eBay or other auction houses and I have seen them go from multiple to tens of thousands.
And those like you mentioned are static displays or primative store animated figures. I have never seen any of the really complex animatronics up for sale since I think they still guard their tech. They are selling a mummy from the great movie ride but they hardly moved.
I never saw the animatronic Iguanodon when it was in the park and we were there shortly after the AK opened but I just saw the photos online so I guess I missed it.
I am really going to miss the Dinosaur ride I have no idea what Indiana Jones has to do with the Animal Kingdom. I hope Disney keeps some vestige of Dinoland and re-uses the life sized static dinosaur sculptures from the queue.
Years ago on a backlot tour I spotted the old static Styracosaurus sculpture that used to be in front of the ride when it was Countdown to Extinction. It was in an open air fenced in prop storage lot so I don't think they will get trashed, stored probably, re-used hopefully, sold maybe, donated doubtful but doesn't hurt to ask all they can do is say no.

I know Universal donated props to local charities, figured it was worth a shot.  I'm glad that styracosaurus is still around, I had heard it was destroyed by other folks on FB. I'm not looking for anything I can't use outside indefinelty with just minor fix ups. I'm still the only park employee here after all lol
